The heavy weapons need hyper armor and poise for charge attacks. Whats the point of charging heavy weapons when the lightest hit will stagger you out of it?
I recommend taking the monster hunter approach and wait for enemies to use a move that you know has a decent wind down period and hit them with all you got then back off, I will say human mini bosses will be your worst nightmare though as they are one the few enemies that have little to no attack window.
casual gamer here ! I think it would be crazy to ask for it to be easier when there are hard-core players that can beat it and pride themselves on overcoming the challenge. This is my first souls like game and as frustrating as it's been. I have not been stopped yet! I knew what I was getting into when I bought it.... No easy button, BRING ON THE PAIN !!! lol
this games difficulty is up there with the likes of sekiro, but I haven't had such adrenaline rushes since isshin ashina from sekiro and havn't had as much fun with the story since bloodborne I'd give this game a 9.5/10, the jank of some of the bosses when trying to perfect gaurd were annoying but overall it was a fun experience. also, to those complaining about motivity " TRY DIFFERENT WEAPON COMBOS, I USED THE POLICE BATAN HANDLE WITH THE BONE SAW AND IT WAS GODDLY, 500 DAMAGE BER LIGHT ATTACK AND 900+ WITH A CHARGED HEAVY. ALSO HAVE YALL TRIED FIRE ON EVERY SINGLE NON PUPPET BOSS, AND USE THE AMULATE THAT CORRISPONS TO THE BOSS YOU ARE FIGHTING" that ends my service announcement.
Some hitboxes are not very accurate. I noticed that our weapons tend to hit only 1 enemy even when 2 or 3 of them are right next to each other. Eldest Black Rabbit also managed to hit me with a horizontal swing despite me being on his left side. My main problem is not the overall difficulty but some of the animations. I feel way to many are these delayed attacks that suddenly become super fast at the last second. Like Margit's super delayed overhead swing from ER.
Unreactable 2 frame moves, like the first chunky boi who protects the 1st life+ amulet (just 1 easy example because I don'tknow the enemy names yet lol). His headbutt is unreactable. You know it's coming but stuff like this is too fast. And people already complained about Dark Souls 3 and the giant crabs with their 3 frame grab that is still better telegraphed because the crab winds up and has bubbles in its mouth. The parry windows also feel bad and inconsistent
Perfect Guard window needing few more active frames and shortening the frames to reach the active frames is definitely a must. I first played on my non gaming high latency TV at 60hz without VRR and I just couldn't get a good muscle memory with parry even after 10 hours of playtime, never had problems with higher latency in all soulsborne, even did multiple no hit malenia with that slow tv lol. I was forced to switch to my main monitor of 144hz with GSYNC which I'm not using most of the time due to various reasons but it was pretty much a necessity for me in this game, which feels unfair for people who don't have good hardware imo. Weight feels awful in this game, just how much Capacity do I have to level just to utilize the open slots for my equipment while also mid rolling/standard weight(light roll was pretty much unachievable in this game, some people didn't even know it existed lol)? Build viability, honestly why even add heavy weapon in this game? The bosses in this game have a very small attack window, the significantly slower animations for heavy weapons just doesn't seem like a good choice because you're always gonna trade some hp if you don't memorize the boss attacks at least 70%. Poise/hyperarmor is pretty much non existent, and your damage isn't that far off from going full dex. As a bonk man this was a shame. A lot of this game's issue revolves around its animations, it's built with pure reaction speed in mind, and some of them have a really poor telegraphing too.
Yeah idk I think more frames actually make it harder for me to see attacks coming, like less frames actually gets me to think quicker, like when I see the arm go up I know to get ready, otherwise I’m staring at every frame until I get it, hard to explain.
As a fellow bonk man, you touched upon what I've found especially frustrating later into the game. The small attack window is completely absurd. Trying to get an attack in feels impossible during a lot of phase 2 fights. Being able to guarantee that you're trading damage with every attack feels horrible. The absence of poise/hyperarmor just compounds the issue because there's a high chance that you probably won't even get the attack in.
@@RorekSkyfalli feel you so hard even as a dex build Simon P2 feel so wrong liké that dude spam spell AND rush AT you I even die with the perfect Parry buff that last 20s Because he rushes me with an attack that get me out of guard and go stun lock by spell AND then got attacked again So imagine the pain playing heavy, peace upon those player
I honestly believe the bosses in the game have too much health. I don't mind having to play at a high skill level, but when I have to being playing at peak performance for too long you're gonna end up making a mistake. The huge health bars just make me want to cheese bosses with the summon or with throwing weapons.
Scaling and heavy weapons are the huge thing for me -scaling soft caps are far too low I haven't felt any stronger in like the last 25 levels -heavy bigger two handed weapons are basically useless compared to faster weapons
Heavy weapons = high defense tank build, focus on parry and blocking Light weapons = low defense rolling build, focus on dodging and rolling This is why heavy weapons reduce more damage when you block, and light weapons mean you take more damage I am using a greatsword in the footage you're watching and I am having no problems whatsoever
I love this game. The only thing I wish was tweaked is the sudden difficulty spike and probably a faint glint to know when to perfect block. Other than those 2 things the game is perfect
Dodging is harder in the early game. Later it’s easy for me at least. I only have the dodge upgrade to get off the ground. I think I just got better at positioning, I only parry quick and fury attacks.
Platinum'd the game yesterday. I agree that most if not all the bosses should remain unchanged. However I do feel like if any boss gets nerfed it should be the cathedral fight, but only because at that point in the game it feels like characters are just a little too underpowered for when you fight him in a new game,. I do think that's an issue with some basic QOL things like dodging from knockdown state being locked behind quartz upgrades, but also due to the respec option only being available like 60% into the game. Alternatively, for players who are struggling, making the Specters just a bit better is a good way to go, because the Ai for them isn't that great, and they are usually killed by the start of phase 2 where you'd arguably need them the most. I will say though, it seems so many people sleep on guard regain. incredibly useful to focus on if you are struggling, and the Aegis shield is crazy good on harder bosses.
Just a heads up, I saw the thumbnail for this video on my TV and wanted to watch it on my phone. Searched for: “chaossoul lies of p” on YT and this video was the third result. What? Great video! Haven’t played this game but it looks interesting. I’ve heard it is clunky, a few have called the controls “stiff” (to which someone replied. “Well, you’re a puppet, what do expect?” Lol, so I’ll hold off for now.
Thanks for reporting on the name change! I appreciate it! Also I honestly don't know what people are talking about if they say the controls of stiff. They clearly don't know what they are talking about. All the veteran souls players I've seen have said the controls are responsive and are at least close to souls quality. In my opinion they are as good as souls and people saying otherwise wouldn't say so if it had the from software name on it
@@ChaosSoulYT Hey thank you for the reply! Good point about the controls, I’m now closer to buying this game lol. Have a good one! I just wanted to let you know about the search results because it’s so bizarre. There’s absolutely no reason this video shouldn’t have been the first result.
Honestly, idk what platform you're on but it is on gamepass. So you could pick it up that way. I'm loving the game at the moment and in terms of movement, I have no issues with it. I don't want to spoil too much but there are ways to counteract moments that may feel clunky with in game systems.
Am i aloud to call for a shortening of the cube's use time? Idk if it's intended that 30% of bosses can hit you mid animation. But it just feels beyond cheap when it happens, and not that drastic a change right?
@@yes-io3vt good to know though, will complain less now but making it just a tad quicker would still a nice little fix that doesn't destroy balance or anything. More than agree with the contents of the vid but it's such a minor inconvenience that idc with this one 😂😂
Best solution for rolling problems is make all damage recovery by rally not only bloked damage. I hate make a roll or dash and get full cheap damage and not have the option of recovery been agresive
I really do love this game but man some of the bigger common enemies are insane. But to bounce off what you said its because of the perfect parry system. Perfect parry needs to be tweaked just a bit because it really does seem impossible at times. I also want the stagger to be changed a bit. The fact the game wants me to perfect parry constantly to be able to get a chance to hit the boss with a charge attack to stagger them seems a bit too much. But yea everything else about the game besides the little bugs needs to stay. Bosses are not that difficult they just take time to learn.
there's a difference between hard and annoying. If only 2% of people finish the game, then they have a problem. If you can't feel the improvement between tries and bosses don't feel fun to learn, then you just quit. I played the whole game using heavy weapons and it was painful. This game copyied FS games so much it even has the recovery frame issues on heavy weapons just like Elden ring (which they patched afterwards to fix BTW). [SPOILER] By the last boss, I just quit and ended with the bad ending because I didn't want to bash my head against a wall for 3hs to speedrun the boss no hit. I don't care that much to have it be a chore and do it perfectly. I did it for Genichiro/Isshin on Sekiro. It was a horrible experience. Not again. One thing that stands out to me is that all enemies have fury attacks and even elite enemies in maps are sometimes even harder than some bosses. If all enemies are special, then none are. You can't ask people to learn every single enemy's attack patterns to perfection to be able to perfect parry the fury attacks. It's tedious and boring. The way p-organs upgrades is implemented is bad too. Why would you put basic upgrades like more pulse charges together with being able to roll from the floor or doing a proper dodge. Why make us choose between something that is basic to movement and needed healing upgrades? Also why is the extra legion arm upgrade even there? I can barely have 1 weapon equiped and mid-tier defensive parts and I'm always slightly heavy using the amulet +1 for weight and 20 for the weight stat???? Clearly poorly tested/balanced. I can go on and on. The game has serious issues but everyone is so desperate to compare it to Souls games that they overlook that the game is actually a 6/10 at best.
Only 2 percent of people have beaten the game... because it only just came out... give it a few weeks and watch how that number increases. The game has as many issues as demons souls in my opinion. So yes it is on fromsoftwares level. Any 'unfair' issues can be excused given that this game just came out and it is the companies first major game. This is a phenomenal first entry into the soulslike world and I could see this companies next title being a masterpiece. To me though, lies of p already is.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and it's cool if you think it's a masterpiece. The thing is, if the dev so blatantly copies so much of FS games, then they have to be ready to face the comparison. That's why I can't be lenient by saying "it's their first game". They're not inventing anything, they are plainly copying a series of games that released more than 10 years ago. They didn't do enough to separate themselves being just a homage to FS games. Nioh is the best example of how you do it. You take some mechanics but iterate on the idea to get your own twist on it. I couldn't compare this game to Demon's souls because at least DS was trying something that wasn't done at the time and had unique mechanics. This game is "borrowing" a lot from a 13 years old game and failing at the same mistakes they had all that time ago. They shoul've learned or improved upon it a bit more IMO. Cool discussion though, glad to see the genre is alive and well.@@ChaosSoulYT
I actually wanna try this game. But I first want to prove to myself that I can beat the demo before investing a full 60 bucks. But if you're saying parrying is more important than dodging than I'll keep that in mind for both the full game and the demo.
both are important Ive found, some bosses are easy to perfect block while some are nearly impossoble, so just experament with both adn see what works better for you.
Honestly it’s mostly skill issues when it comes to people complaining. I come from a rolling and dodging gameplay, when playing lies of p it’s easy to see that’s not the best way to play. So you adapt to parrying and it becomes so much easier.
I have an idea, let me give you some context. I’ve played this game almost 4 times now. I 100% agree that the first playthrough is a nightmare and most of the late game is not fun. However, new game plus 1 and new game plus 2 gives you so many ways to deal with the annoyances that I’m content with stuff like the parry window, so here’s my solution. I think this game should increase the parry window just by a hair for the first game, after that, keep it tight. This game was very unfun the first playthrough and now I’m having a blast playing it and trying to 100% it.
My favorite games so far are in order: Elden Ring Sekiro Lies of P Dark Souls 3 This isnt a rating of quality, its a rating of enjoyment. But this game is awesome, and I will definitely be doing NG+ runs.
The helping npc ghost is the difficulty level, but i also would rather have some bigger parry windows or at least some bigger attack windows, holy the enemies and bosses are aggressive
I don't quite get why a lot of people (or perhaps just a vocal minority as you said) are complaining about the game being hard. I'm at chapter 10 so far and there hasn't been a single boss that felt unfair yet. I never saw this complaining about the Dark Souls games which imho had a lot more unfair or gimmicky boss fights. Bed of Chaos anyone? Personally I found Sekiro a lot harder than Lies of P.
Very early in the game, but having played Wo Long and dealt with some awful attack animations from certain monsters, I also find the parry window from Lies of P to be a little too tight. Between the tight window and the quickness of enemy attacks even after a windup, it was brutal to get a parry even against trash mobs. I have heard from others how much more difficult perfect blocking was, but it wasn't until I tried it for myself that I finally understood. That said, I somehow managed to break enemy weapons on two occasions, one of them during a boss fight. Both out of luck than being intentional, but it is at least something I can start with.
I just beat the game 30 hours with the true ending and i agree that none of the bosses need to be nerfed if youve played bloodborne or sekiro you can beat this game yes some bosses have tight windows but it feels all the better when you beat them.
As some who finished sekiro multiple times and tried speed runs I can say parrying in sekiro was much more satisfying Lies of pie parry window is much shorter and "unnecessary" harder In sekiro when you press parry button It will still parry attacks for few frame But this Is completely different in this game
Don’t get me wrong the game is fun but it’s not super great. The best thing about the game is the aesthetic and the weapon system cause you can disassemble weapons and combine them to make something new but other than that the game really isn’t that special
My NG+ build is melting bosses compared to my NG playthrough Don't forget about the damage types Slash/Stab. You could have 100 motivity with an A scaling weapon, but have the hilt be the wrong type for damage
I only struggle with some bigger enemies here and there, but nothing to ragequit for. Just adjust tactics a bit. Game seems fair to me so far, going to alchemist isle soon. Just beat victor. And, in comparison to the soulsborne series, i havent had that "can i get a freaking bonfire already, pls".
It feels like you're playing in waist high mud most the time, basic move skills are locked behind a skill tree and some of the fight mechanics are just bad in general. The game is visually stunning and i love the world but the game play is not that great.
I just finished the game. it took me 55 attempts to beat the nameless puppet, but once I knew all of his moves I managed to defeat him. I do agree that some of the bosses can be difficult, but I don’t think they need to nerf team. just get good 👍
Some of the bosses are really hard and took many attempts to beat. But that’s the beauty behind difficult games. Once an area or boss is conquered, the relief and celebration of that is what keeps bringing me back and keeps me thinking about the game when I’m not playing it. Please don’t nerf the bosses or enemies.
Reviewnig a game poorly because you dont like something isnt review bombing. Get off that bs. If you dont like a review, then dont read it. If its negative, they have a right to give it any review they want. The new baby, " its review bombing', becuase its a game you like.
Buffing the hell out of the specters would solve most of the problems. Just make it so when someone doesnt want to struggle they can chose the easy mode. Forcing everyone to have an easier time would suck imo.
Took me 11 hours to complete the game, but damn not coming back to this one, is not the difficult, is the bad gameplay design, not even doing a NG+ on this one, will wait for Lords of the Fallen.
The complainers are essentially just saying "I can't beat the game MY way, so the devs should change it". These are the same people that had no problem telling others to "git gud" when it suited them.
The bosses aren't difficult. It's the balancing that need changing. The copper boss he bosses can EASILY hit you before you can hit them and you have 0 poise. Unless you perfect parry but like you mentioned that window is stupidly thin. I gave it a 2 star on the MS store because of the clunky, janky controls, bad design that you had to wade through 10 hours to get off the floor quickly and 5 hours to double dash. The s don't always work, the bosses can track you easily. On some bosses The Green Swamp monster and Master of Puppets 2nd phases it's just a crap shoot due to that tracking. Just get some throwables and throw everything you got. The block is also broken at times, I was facing the King of Puppets, 8 times in a row the boss did his spin and punch, on 8 times in a row I was blocking just to test it, NOTHING I just took full damage, I had full stamina and using a big weapon. If you perfect parry you are still stuck in a motion meaning half the time you can't take advantage, plus wouldn't it be better not be punish with stamina loss for a perfect parry. You are still being punished for parrying. its an amazing experience and it's not "hard" it just needs the balancing sorting out and the bugs need ironing out, thats what is making it hard.
So many attacks in this game are so difficult to parry I find, they raise their arm telegraphing that they are about to attack, then they stay there for a bit.. and when they actually attack it's INSTANT and FAST AF, like there is no way anyone or anything can accelerate this quickly this suddenly. Hey Soul! Or should I say ChaosSoul! Just wanted to say love the Lies of P content and have been so busy, but I'm watching every video and proud to keep supporting you! Like I've said before, everyone loves your videos because we feel your passion behind them! Keep up the great content. Also, as strange as this sounds, you should check out OneyPlays Dark Souls video playthroughs. It's some crass gentlemen that know how to do a lot of awesome stuff in dark souls, I really am enjoying seeing them play through it and I thought you'd enjoy it if you ever get bored and want some nice background audio lol
More costumes of the stalkers we dont get them from currently and a slight adjustment on parry timing and ill be 100% happy.
I’ve timed them. You’d need tick perfect(2ticks per frame) reaction speed. Ticks are what’s used for hit scans. And that’s what their attacks are.
@@RorekSkyfalli feel you so hard even as a dex build Simon P2 feel so wrong liké that dude spam spell AND rush AT you
I even die with the perfect Parry buff that last 20s Because he rushes me with an attack that get me out of guard and go stun lock by spell AND then got attacked again
So imagine the pain playing heavy, peace upon those player
I honestly believe the bosses in the game have too much health. I don't mind having to play at a high skill level, but when I have to being playing at peak performance for too long you're gonna end up making a mistake. The huge health bars just make me want to cheese bosses with the summon or with throwing weapons.
Scaling and heavy weapons are the huge thing for me
-scaling soft caps are far too low I haven't felt any stronger in like the last 25 levels
-heavy bigger two handed weapons are basically useless compared to faster weapons
Heavy weapons = high defense tank build, focus on parry and blocking
Light weapons = low defense rolling build, focus on dodging and rolling
This is why heavy weapons reduce more damage when you block, and light weapons mean you take more damage
I am using a greatsword in the footage you're watching and I am having no problems whatsoever
I will say though, it seems so many people sleep on guard regain. incredibly useful to focus on if you are struggling, and the Aegis shield is crazy good on harder bosses.
maybe ease up on stamina use.
My stamina lvl is low and I have no issues with it. Just parry everything instead of dodging and you’ll be good.
They have an upgrade in the p-organ for that I think but I completely agree with you, I don't even use the cube because of the long use time.
[SPOILER]
By the last boss, I just quit and ended with the bad ending because I didn't want to bash my head against a wall for 3hs to speedrun the boss no hit.
Leave the game alone
Just finished ng+. The game doesn't need any nerfs. Lies of P is a cakewalk compared to Sekiro.
I don't know kW if this is a bad take but I'd like animation cancelling into parrying like sekiro
I feel each boss had a perfect skill check. Yes they are hard but that’s the point. Learn the move sets and build up a bit.
My favorite games so far are in order:
Elden Ring
Sekiro
Lies of P
Dark Souls 3
This isnt a rating of quality, its a rating of enjoyment. But this game is awesome, and I will definitely be doing NG+ runs.
Sekiro
Bloodborne
DS3
DS1
DS2
Lies of P
Elden Ring
The two phase bosses are a bit much, and yeah the weapon scaling is odd.
There needs to be an difficulty level on the game. If not there should be Dlc for more ergo or quartz or special weapons
No. No difficulty options in souls.
@@ChaosSoulYT they can at least give us DLC weapons to make things easier
Would you ask for a souls game to be easier? Rise to the challenge my friend! The game ones you to learn and get better
The helping npc ghost is the difficulty level, but i also would rather have some bigger parry windows or at least some bigger attack windows, holy the enemies and bosses are aggressive
I fucking love this game.
As some who finished sekiro multiple times and tried speed runs I can say parrying in sekiro was much more satisfying
Lies of pie parry window is much shorter and "unnecessary" harder
In sekiro when you press parry button It will still parry attacks for few frame
But this Is completely different in this game
Don’t get me wrong the game is fun but it’s not super great. The best thing about the game is the aesthetic and the weapon system cause you can disassemble weapons and combine them to make something new but other than that the game really isn’t that special
STR weapons need to be buffed
I will say that asian developers tend not to cave into vocal minoroties..lets hope that is the case
booooo to reduced difficulty. I would love it if they buffed the bosses to spite the ones wanting a nerf. Mwa ha ha ha ha.
My NG+ build is melting bosses compared to my NG playthrough
Don't forget about the damage types Slash/Stab.
Better than Sekiro? I don’t know about that…
It feels like you're playing in waist high mud most the time, basic move skills are locked behind a skill tree and some of the fight mechanics are just bad in general.
I would say puppet master has a little too much healtrh and can be tedious@@BBQcheese
NOTHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED THE GAME IS FINE IF YOU DON'T LOVE IT YOU'RE BAD AT IT GO PLAY COD!!! I HATE ALL SCRUBS!!!
I don't understand the people who say you must perfect parry in this game. I literally never block or parry and I'm almost done with the game
You are still being punished for parrying.
its an amazing experience and it's not "hard" it just needs the balancing sorting out and the bugs need ironing out, thats what is making it hard.
there is no difrence between parry and defense animation ! wich is strange
Are u a smoker
Who cares
