I just started playing the game a few months ago, I thought you were wrong cos this DLC doesn't look as prestigious as some other ones, now after 900 hours I can definitively say you are correct, this DLC straight up makes every building set looks much better, everything else aside the Paved Stone Walkway alone makes it totally worth it.
In addition to roads already mentioned, if i recall correctly (I'm not near my computer) the riders of Hyboria also adds the black and white horse skins which, while not my favorite aesthetic, produces horses with the ability to gain grit as they level.
I definitely agree that the Hyborea dlc is one of the best, not really as a stand alone building kit, but because it compliments all the others so well, I don't think I have built a base without using some of the parts from this set :)
I've been saying this for a while now. In addition to the tricks you mentioned, it simply mixes with everything on a visual level that other sets might now. One correction, though. You can do the real windows trick with the Turanian Wall Arch, as well, if you have it.
I'm not all that well-versed in Conan, but since all the dlc's went on sale, I'm trying to build a city (in creative mode). You just blew my mind with tricks I never even knew about. Thank you so much for the video!
Glad you found it helpful! I do have a tonne of other builds, tips, and building tips videos 😂 I also have a city build series called Colonizing Conan and the Settlers series for villages, they might prove useful!
I really wish the functionality demonstrated wasn't confined to a DLC set. What it lets us do is grand, even if it is probably not intentional. I just wish the set itself had more (sloped walls for example).
Yeha I don't think most of these were intentional, more happy accidents that Funcom decided not to patch. I do agree that I wish the set had more though, it feels like it's really designed to work with thatch, stones etc
I discovered Conan Exiles beyond the jokes about the dick physics videos when the game first released, when age of sorcery released. It didn't take me long before I was building and buying the DLC just for the building tiles.
Seems we both followed the same path 😂 I picked up the game on a whim in 2019 after a recommendation and ended up getting every DLC, and much of the battle pass & Bazaar building-related stuff. Building-wise, Conan is second to none
@@Eradicati0nn I actually love the battle pass because you get the cost back from it so its a single purchase keeps paying back. I just have to be playing enough to do the challenges which keeps engagement up. I haven't been as diligent about the building tiles from the bazaar but I have got a few. i do like that they return so no fear of missing out forcing me to buy. I do wonder how funcom will handle the dune game they are working on.
@@ogaccidentpronetv9703 not any more :-( Used to be, you could use the doorframe pieces in it that did not have a visible connection with the ceiling and build on top of them so it looks as if the floor above is floating.
Agreed! I'm not too sure how close to realistic the armor design gets in the lore, but given that some semi-realistic ones like Poitain, Kinscourge etc already exist, I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy some proper historically-accurate ones
this particular dlc has 3 (light/medium/heavy). they are of Poitain design. Poitain is the region of southern Aquilonia that is culturally distinct from the rest of Aquilonia because it was once its own sovereign nation until it's annexation by Aquilonia. Poitain is the only culture in Hyboria that uses full plate armor (Kinscourge doesn't count unless Conan Exiles became canon while i wasn't looking).
I had to buy this DLC twice, because for some reason I lost it and I couldn't download it again. This has never happened to me with any DLC or game that I have bought from the Microsoft store.
@@Eradicati0nn But I had it for a time and even used it for building. Then when I decided to upgrade from Xbox One S to Xbox One X everything transferred well except for that DLC. It might still be in my Xbox One S, but I never to check because all data was on the SSD drive that I got to get rid of the constant crashing.
It is. Most of the NPCs in my videos are Thespians from the Pippi mod, they're basically placeable, configurable actors used to populate scenes, so they don't behave like actual thralls. For him, I used the usual emote that you'd see when you sit in a chair, and just slapped him on the edge 😂
Maybe one of my mods is doing this for me (to my knowledge, none of the mods I run interact with build mechanics), but can you not normally layer fence pieces on door/wall tiles??
Normally, it doesn't work. I ran into the same as you're describing before, and it came from Less Building Placement Restrictions, though it's possible other mods could be causing it
@@Eradicati0nn Good to know! I usually run pretty mod light, and what few I *do* run, mostly just do what they say on the tin, so it's always a surprise when I find a new feature to one of them, lol
@@klokworkkro It's funny you should mention it actually. I was looking for a video for someone in my Discord yesterday and came across a build from 3 years ago where the exact same thing happened to me 😂 I only found out at the time because people told me lmao
Is there any "pay to win" DLC at Conan? I'm a new player and I heard that the armor from the DLCs give different status. What about structures? (For PvP)
Nope, there's no pay to win at all. Some armors from DLCs will have different bonuses, but they should all be available with the different base-game armor sets too. Everything in the DLCs are basically reskins, or cosmetic things like placeables. The only difference is Siptah, as it adds a new map with a new gameplay loop
@@Aci_ytIts not that the game is fundamentally broken because that implies that the game doesn't work. The game functionally works. The problem is that the game is laggy and buggy so what is there does work but it's a very inconsistent experience and it's been that way for years. you may as well duck out now then. this game is 160 gb (before age of war) on xbox. that ain't a typo, 160 gb. it represents 7+ years of code spaghettification. it CAN'T be "fixed", it's a fucking miracle it even runs at all.
@@fistovuzi well your first problem is playing on xbox. consoles are absolute garbage and is an obsolete form of gaming. the size of the game on PC, with all DLC's is 93 gigs. im looking at it right now on my steam account. almost everyone i see complaining that this game, or really any game not running properly, plays on console. i play this game with virtually no problem. a random bug here and there sure, but its nothing that cant be rectified. play the game on a real platform before saying its trash that cant be fixed

You have convinced me that the Riders of Hyborea is the best DLC for anyone who likes building in Conan Exiles.

Argossean is my fav one, but I do agree, the one you talk about it's very versatile and I end to use some parts of it all the times.

Yes, the Turanian wall arch acts just as the stable pillars for me so far.
Window trick also works with turanian bazzar piece the archway

I play pvp for the most part and still find your tips extremely helpful if not from a different perspective.
my favorite aspect is the light inside :)

Is this the DLC with roads? I am slowly buying more as I love building. I was going to buy this merely to be able to make roads for my towns.
It is indeed! I completely forgot the roads were in this pack lmao
I bought the riders dlc as soon as it released
can you do a how to build for the build that started on 3:25?
thanks for the knowledge o7
