Silver Age Superman was basically a code-approved Homelander.
Normally I strongly disagree with these Homelander comparisons but Superman enjoying watching his girlfriend get beat up felt reminiscent of how He and Queen Maive broke up

I love how the reason Lois figures out imposter Wonder Woman isn’t because she almost literally murdered her, but because she’s slightly stronger than usual.
Superman marries Lois, Clark quits the Daily Planet, quits being Superman , they move to Kansas, and run the Kent Farm. The End.

Well in all fairness she already knew the job. I doubt the rest were capable enough to handle paperwork, heck Jay isn't even good at his own job, smoking right next to chemical fumes and all. The rest tended to be single minded millionaires who pay people to handle paperwork and the Spectre would probably lecture about how paperwork is a immoral afront to God and people's word should be their bond. Has there ever been an issue where Lois tries to marry Clark to make Superman jealous?
The comic would be shown from her perspective, and because she doesn't know the truth about Clark, Superman actually shows up at the wedding, naturally this would confuse the readers but in the end it is revealed to all be a dream Lois was having, either that or Batman was asked to disguise himself as Superman again for some reason.
Has that ever happened?
I misread it as 'Wonder Woman fights for Lois Lane with Superman' and assumed this week Lois will marry Diana and did a small cheer.

Maybe they want to maximize the trauma, and none of them are lazy enough to just go for it.
I said it once, i'm saying it again, Superman's kink is constantly being detailed as we go along, it's now entered into physical beat downs between his admirers, it's the only way he can feel. Lois figuring out the plan here makes think that if it was wonder Woman, sh was gonna roll back that embarrassing fight by sneaking up on her and firing a pistol at point blank range. We know Lois, we know her pettiness.

I never really realized how borderline insane many of the Lois Lane stories were. I used to frequent on a site that focused on Superman's general dickery towards other heroes and people around him, but with Lois, he was on an entirely different level.

I did like that Lois found out the twist at the end on her own. But Clark was weird for not caring at all.

Superman was sadistic in watching "Wonder Woman" beat down the woman he claims to love and was thoughtless throughout this issue. I really don't know why Lois is desperate to marry him as he treated her like crap in this issue. Silver age Superman at times acts like a sociopath.
To be fair, everyone in the Silver Age was a sociopath. Lois herself treats Superman like shit too and constantly goes after other guys anyway.
And Jimmy... Jimmy is just pure horror.
This era did inspire the whole concept of "Superman is a D**k," and a sadly no longer existing website devoted to all the covers and frequent full stories devoted to documenting Supes' absolute dickery, mostly toward Jimmy and Lois.

Sure he could be a pest towards Jimmy, but he wasn't as much of one in that regard. At least Jimmy actually got costumes to go on missions and try to be a proper sidekick on a regular basis..even joined the Legion of Superheroes. It just seemed to be with Jimmy that he needed to mind his timing and planet selections such as "don't be Superlad on a planet of telepaths".

Comic book writers are really not writing realistic characters with anything resembling human motivations or psychological reality. These are simple one dimensional creatures incapable of complex emotions. Basically a bunch of sociopaths bent on self gratification without consequences. It's hilarious how everybody is a different brand of completely insane. Superman and HIS asylum were just as nuts as Batman and his circle of lunacy.

Well, if memory serves, there was a TV movie called "I Me Wed", where Erica Durance (I think) plays a woman who marries herself in order to get her marriage-pushy relatives off her back. And Ms. Durance WAS Lois on Smallville. Not the same thing, true, but as close as it gets right now...
The idea that Lois could take on even a depowered Wonder Woman is laughable enough but the fact that it was a Kryptonian impersonating Diana is just... how did anybody not notice? How did Superman not notice? He can see people's DNA, did he not notice that Di was suddenly a different species?
All the outfits in this issue are really good.
Silver age Superman trusted Jimmy more than Batman, and gave Jimmy the secret chunk of Kryptonite. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
