With the recent loss of their children, Mary Jane and her partner (and engineer of her gauntlet), Paul, have been working through unfathomable grief. At the urging of her friend Black Cat, MJ has begun to cope by helping the community with her new powers. The training wheels are about to come off though. A Gang War is brewing, and it may be too much for Spider-Man and his squad to handle on their own. Luckily, Team Spidey just hit the jackpot!

Why couldn't Jackpot be a role for MJ in a new movie or TV series?
Like picture this; MJ wanted to help show the public the troubles that Superheroes go through and so wrote a screenplay, basing the plot on her own experiences with Spider-Man and creating the Jackpot role as a way to promote the ideals that Spidey stands for, to both inspire people and honour the heroes shes known throughout her life. That could also explain her powerset, so she could model them after other heroes' powers to show the struggles of different heroes in one.
Could've been a whole series that's like an homage to the movie industry and shows MJ dealing with the demands and how the studio tries to interfere with her vision as they try to insert ideologies and agendas that conflict with the themes she wants to portray.
This would be like her own parallel to Spider-Man as she's trying to do something good to inspire people, but she meets obstacles and she must overcome them to achieve her dream. Her metaphorical battle with the studio could reflect Spidey's battle with his villains. This would give us the MJ heroes journey story, without having to make MJ a superhero.
Course Paul has to be erased. Either she dumps him or some setpiece falls on his head or something. Either way, get rid of Paul!
That actually sounds very interestedand I love the parallelto Peter. and it also stays true to MJs character. I'd say marvel get in on this but we both know they'd mess it up.

@@mnstashsince it's always a point of criticism with the games, maybe they could spice up the MJ segments in Insomniac Spider Man 3 by making her become Jackpot for that game.
Of course, keeping her and Peter having a healthy relationship from the first two, none of this Paul crap
This sound like an amazingly interesting idea than what some Marvel editorials did.
I have an idea once Zeb Wells’s run of Spider-Man is done, that being from the very beginning and the end of Zeb’s run be a weird dream/comatose for Peter. We still keep MJ as Jackpot to fill in Peter’s shoes during his comatose state. And as for Paul, I think maybe have Deadpool, Cable, and The Punisher go back in time before Paul was born until The Maker had already killed Paul as his first move from escaping prison. Then a very funny but, happy I would have Deadpool kill Zeb Wells in public with nobody questioning it and Deadpool gives a psa to the readers. To add about the creation of the bracelet for MJ, just have Tony Stark and Reed Richards be the ones to create it.
No big surprise there. The good thing i see about this is not only is Zeb Wells leaving ASM in October, but Nick Lowe and another senior editor are leaving the Spider-Man office as well. And these guys were the biggest defenders to keep OMD.
So there is stil hope?

Yeah I hated how MJ is portrayed as a top notch hero when she literally just started and I'm sick to death of how Peter is being treated as weak and incompetent whenever she's around. MJ needs to leave the city, Peter has saved it enough times to earn the right to live their, if MJ wants a new start then do it as far away from Peter as possible. It's worse in his own comics, Peter helps his mentally unstable aunt and she still treats him horribly.
The worst part are the people defending MJ by calling anyone that criticizes her a bunch of misogynists. Truth is it’s not MJs fault or peters it’s Paul and his father. And notice how the comics shifts between acting like it’s MJs fault or peters but it never blames Paul. He was just a poor guy tricked by his father. And lastly while this situation isn’t completely MJs fault the way she handled the situation was absolutely atrocious and very questionable. And I’m very tired of the story refusing to acknowledge that she is somewhat at fault for how everything turned out Peter being in the state of confusion that he’s in.
But who cares she has powers now every bad decisions she’s made doesn’t matter look at her go wooooooo.

The best thing about this is you can tell Zebb and the editors are desperately trying to get you to root for Paul and MJ but the more context they add the more unreasonable it makes MJ look. This amazing Spiderman comic really comes off as the person didn't really understand what made MJ so beloved and simply looked up a Wiki read that she's Peters's love interest and said aight bet.
And worse you got people actually defending Paul and MJ.

Worst Case Scenario: Green Goblin returns- Norman or whomever- goes after Peter's greatest love Mary-Jane Watson, attempts to kill her like he did Gwen, Paul saves MJ, getting himself killed in the process- YES, Paul is a Martyr, he becomes Mary-Jane's GWEN STACY! Her sad lost love, she gets back with Peter, he'll be seen as her 2nd choice, Peter will be a Chump.
I wouldn't put it past Wells, Lowe and Co. to do this just to have big F*** You to Fandom!

what if all of this jackpot stuff is from Mary jane's dream including Paul and all of these events never actually happened just a fantasy that she had on what she would want to be. what if all of this was manipulated by Dream-Spider, and that she's behind all of this and had MJ live out her fantasy to be a superhero through her dreams, but none of this isn't real, just created in her head.
peter is out of town and gang war is where peter is at that takes place in Makanrushi, an uninhabited volcanic island in the Pacific during chip zdarsky daredevil where spider-man is trying to take down daredevil when he ran the fist. because The Avengers including spider-man all showed up to confront Daredevil and arrest Elektra and daredevil became a fugitive. Elektra's daredevil only shows up that in this because mary jane saw her on the news which would explain why elektra justy shows up for no reason to be in this event, but let's just say she's still over there with matt and all of this the real and actual gang war takes place during the middle of the fist vs the hand war. mary jane is only dreaming this just to be apart of the action and superhero life.
During a time the 616 comics were horribly perceived marvel created the Ultimate Universe 1610 in the 2000s which eventually almost became the main universe were it not for She-Hulk convincing The Living Tribunal otherwise. Now, 20 years later we have a similar story going on here with Marvel, particularly anything closely related to Spider-Man, Venom’s lost all his meaning now going cosmic instead of extraterrestrial(Knull was fun but they’re overdoing it), Ben still being Chasm and we all know how screwed Peter is.
At this point there’s no justification TAOO can give us or Peter anymore.
It is pretty funny how like you said the ultimate universe pretty much saved comics and especially Spider-Man comics, the funny part is back then to revitalise the character they made him a kid again but now to save spidey they made him a married family man

I still like Mj as Spinnerette in RYV, but a huge part of that is the whole spider-fam aspect with May and Peter.
Also we all know everything will get undone eventually, but I feel like predictably Paul is gonna become a villain and honestly that just seems like such a cringeworthy idea, I'd rather he just disappear entirely like other way better characters who actually deserve to pop up but don't like Detective Lamont or Carlie Cooper.

Her showing more love and care for the fake kids than her dead baby is completely consistent with Wells MJ who loves....that other guy more than Peter. I mean, it's consistently WRONG, but it IS consistent. Literally every single thing Wells has done to her has been completely OOC, a more thorough character assassination i don't think I've seen.

I personally enjoyed Spencer’s work! I was sad to see him go, he had the last good Spider-Man comic we were so close to greatness
Planned...I planned for this...I have two rewrites. In one rewrite I have Mary Jane Watson going through a punch of worlds being isekaied a lot to get back home and for Peter. It is like when Peter dug himself out of his grave for her when Kraven buried him and now she is digging herself out and is going through much hardship and when she gets back and looks for him. She finds him in his apartment and kisses him and is so happy to see him after all the friends she made and the ones she lost during her adventures she is finally back with Peter then questions him about Paul as then she tells him that Paul was actually a supervillain from another world that killed every single one of his variants and absorbed their power like Jet Li's the One. And that he tried to brainwash her but she resisted and so Paul banished her and used a shapeshifting villain instead to take her place and made it seem like 4 years when in reality it was the same time on Peter's Earth. Peter learning this tells MJ of what happened and she let's him cry on her shoulder and doesn't judge him for the horrible stuff that happened and soon Peter Parker goes to Paul and fake MJ and beats the snot outta them while playing Thong Song.
It is an epic fight but Jackpot reveals her true form being that of a succubus and tells Peter she wished she was dating him instead of Paul but she had her orders. MJ comes into the picture and fights Paul not uttering a word being serious across the fight and any superheroes who want in she tells them to back off. Paul and the succubus run away and now this is where the arc "The Adversary" begins. And we learn about just how many crazy things happened under everyone's noses.

@@mnstash Thank you. So I have this idea that in Heaven Maria Castle and her kids saw Frank's mission and knew what he was doing this whole time and saw only pain and sorrow. They felt pity for Frank and made a deal with God to return in life someday. And when the time is right the kids returned with her back in her belly. She told Frank of enemies coming in secret and left him a note saying how much she truly loves him and she did not mean any of those mean things she said to him.
Frank is sent on a mission from her to get soldiers from Weird World and that Maria gets the new Punisher and Frank's former sidekick and still friend to help her. MJ will not just get stuck in one world in which via getting ran over by Optimus Prime therefore getting Isekai'd to a world in need of a hero. After coming home she is intercepted by Mrs. Marvel, Maria, and Bumblebee. Thor the king of Asgard was in on the team but disagreed with killing MJ. Anyways...
MJ is told of the league and events (I am retconning Spider-Goblin because that never happened.) and is horrified by what is going on. I'm reintroducing her via zombie attack where some fantasy zombies come to invade New York and MJ in her armor which disguises her face defeats the rest of the army in 3 moves after Spidey mollywopped them and was going to bully them some more if MJ didn't do them a favor. Spidey is about to thank her until Jackpot comes to the scene and MJ goes straight for the kill in a blind rage but is stopped by Spider-man. MJ gets pulled back by Optimus and put into a dimension....Paul then realizes this...The war is on and the secret has to be kept. It's time to have a talk with Mepthiso...

It baffles me that for decades the mandate has been "never change Spider-man's status quo" and yet every time they do, the fans love it. Every time they double down and insist they're right, Spidey suffers. Then, some elseworld has to come along and bail him out. Don't get me wrong, I love that we got Miles and Anna-May from these "help we need to save Spidey" alternate runs, but shit, can we stop rebooting Peter back to the same 3-4 safe stories about him "finding himself as a hero"?
Even the movies have stopped obsessing over his origins, why are the comics now incapable of letting him grow?
Freakin' Batman and Superman over there with their kids having their own incredibly charming adventures while goddamn Mayday Parker has barely been mentioned in decades.
I think the gwen stacy we're seeing in the spectacular spider men comic run by Greg Weisman could be from an alternate universe where she and Peter are married and have kids similar to the ones from the new ultimates run yeah I can definitely see that as a elseworlds type story for spider man I do hoped you review issue one though and this one here the jackpot one shot sucks I mean no one is interested and for the most part wouldn't even last long like something happens to Paul or Anna that might cause mj to eventually give up trying to be a hero she is not pretty much

I will be honest: Zeb Wells is the Real-life Mephisto of Comics. Spider-Man already had a harsh life trying to be a superhero and saving the city. The Creator said " Nah I don't like this" and Let's add more poison. Guess What Spiderman gets cucked twice exactly and yeah it's devastating at this point. Spiderman should be having kids and having a family. Therefore you get Spider "Man" not Man-child-like. Make Miles go be Spiderman at that point.
I feel like that’s marvels ultimate plan. To make miles the main Spider-Man because in literally everything at this moment has Peter being borderline braindead and miles as a genius
I wish they had kept the 616 MJ as MJ and if they wanted to give her powers they should have done so in the new Ultimate Universe or given her a completely new universe.

Younger Spidey fans don't understand what MJ went through. In the Earth-616 universe starting with TASM # 42" in 1966, MJ was introduced to fans. Back then she supposedly didn't know Peter Parker was Spider-Man. However, that was retconned in "The Untold Tales of Spider-Man # 16" in 1996, 30 years later when she saw Peter come out of his bedroom as Spider-Man. This scared MJ in that 1996 comic, but Marvel was showing they were meant to be. Of course, this was ruined by the terrible Dan Slott story arc in "One More Day". (OMD) This debacle starts in The Amazing Spider-Man #544, continues in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #24 and The Sensational Spider-Man (vol. 2) #41, and concludes in The Amazing Spider-Man #545. Then "Brand New Day" (BND) in "ASM" #Vol. # 3 in issue # 558. 40 years of storylines were ruined in five issues. Great work Dan and Joe.
However, I digress. By now fans of this channel know Gwen Stacy died in "TASM # 121", and on the last page of issue # 122 MJ consoles Peter by staying with him. In "TASM # 143" Peter and MJ finally kiss as Peter is going with Robbie Robertson to France where Spidey will fight Bullseye. Not the Bullseye in "USM # 3", the more superior current Spidey storyline. Then the very next issue "TASM # 144" the clone of Gwen Stacy appears for a 5 issue story arc culminating in the clone leaving the area, and Peter and MJ doing a reverse of what happened in "TASM 122".
We skip 33 issues from "TASM # 149" to "TASM # 182 where Peter 1st proposes to MJ. In "TASM # 183" MJ rejects Peter's proposal and hands back his ring whereas in "TASM "184" Betty Brant returns to try and get with Peter. This doesn't work out. So much for the backstory. Now what fans don't realize is MJ is hardly in Spider-Man comics from "TASM # 184 all the way to "TASM # 239". Sure she makes a few cameo appearances like in "TASM # 188, also in "Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man (PPTSS)", but Marvel introduced the Black Cat in "TASM # 194". When I graduated High School back then, I liked The Black Cat character and wanted Peter and her to be together, not him and MJ. Then as they did with Gwen Stacy and MJ, they tried to have MJ and Felicia compete for Peter's affection. Then Peter and Felicia broke up in PPTSS # 100 and then Felicia came back during the Gang War event, betrayed Peter in PPTSS # 123 through # 129, and then Peter proposed again to MJ in "TASM # 290", she finally accepted in # TASM # 292". MJ and Peter married in "TASM #Annual # 21" (I was so excited I called my best friend, who really wasn't a comic book fan, at midnight to give him the news) and had their honeymoon courtesy of one of MJ's friends, and Peter had s run-in with Puma in "PPTSS Annual # 7".
This is how MJ married Peter, but Marvel has tried other times in Spidey's History to replace MJ with Felicia Hardy, Debra Whitman, and even going back to Betty Brant. So MJ and Peter's marriage being dissolved by Mephisto and carrying on all the way to this awful "Jackpot" storyline is just more of the same by Marvel to try and ruin the main characters in "ASM". It was more subtle back then, but it was tried without success. The main aspect of this is Marvel wouldn't keep doing this to Peter through multiple issues. The only woman they tried for a while after Gwen Stacey's death was Felicia Hardy.
I've stated many times. Felicia and Peter should be married, and have kids, and Peter be a successful scientist who can provide for his family. Even "USM" has abandoned Peter being a science geek story arc as he got the tech from that universe's Tony Stark. However, the Earth-616 universe has made mistakes with the Peter Parker/Spider-Man storyline in the past, but the present is the worst I've ever seen. IMO, Marvel has done the same thing to Felicia Hardy as they have with MJ. How did Felcia become Bisexual of a sudden in "Jackpot and The Black Cat # 1" where dating her girlfriend is so much more exciting than dating Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I think MNStash is right because what has been done to MJ is worse than what Marvel did to the Black Cat story arc.
The "Jackpot" comic's days are numbered. In the aforementioned MJ and Black Cat comic, MJ spins again if she doesn't like the power she receives on the 1st spin. Say what! Paul should be gone. I still believe if the Jackpot comic continues, MJ will enter into a bisexual/lesbian relationship with Felicia. If this happens I won't read or follow Spider-Man comics ever again. I'll reread back issues so "The crows don't catch you slippin'''". It's such a tragedy, but it's nothing new with Marvel in the Earth-616 universe. Cheers.
Hey man sorry for my late response I’ve a full week of work so just struggling to find some free time! I remember when I was first reading all the Spider-Man comics how much of a rollercoaster it was with his love interest bouncing from black cat to Mary Jane to Debra etc black cat and MJ were always the two who should be considered as his main love with Gwen staying dead leaving her more as a symbol yet marvel just seem to love ruining both black cat and MJ to the point where they’re not even in the books anymore! After wells leaves they need someone with a brain and a clean vision of what they want! Thanks for commenting again my friend I’ll try to get some new videos out hopefully soon!

Wasn’t it revealed that Paul resembles someone in marvel so it’s basically just yet another one of those self insert bull crap that a lot of companies are allowing?…. I mean it would explain why the character will not go away because it’s a self insert of someone who has enough power to keep it going, even though it’s not popular
There’s some heavy rumours about wells making Paul purely out of spite of his ex wife. It’s a whole messy situation that should never happen in a comic book😭

I actually have this rewrite of Paul where he is not a genocidal murderer but just a survivor of an apocalypse world where humanity alongside supernatural creatures are rebuilding the world together. My version of Paul is a dog trainer that trains dogs for groups and factions in return for food and supplies and bubblegum because gum is the new currency. Paul's world is one where superheroes didn't exist and instead were just comic book characters and is actually a mega Spider-man fan and instead of Peter getting back to his world it's MJ and for the next 4 years Paul and Peter go around the world and help around until they get Peter back home and we learn about this PA world through Peter's eyes. Rooster Teeth learning they were getting shut down by the studios soon decided to do a black magic ritual in retribution and brought their characters alive and for some reason the characters went full "The Warrior returns." and started killing any real person taking over some of the Southern states of America. California got nuked during world war 3 causing it to be a place of radiation and mutants roaming the place for a time, the rainbow serpent popped up and was able to remake and save the world's environment by making new things and turning California into tropical paradise, and with what happened with Rooster Teeth same with Blizzard as they too used black magic and brought their characters alive...that did not go so well...
Pretty much Peter and Paul's adventures round up to saving the world from the bad guys that have been doing bad stuff and along the way we learn that Paul is not a saint but he tries to be a good person and hold up to Peter's ideals of responsibility. Like I said super fan and after helping the world with some help Paul moves to Earth 616 to meet his favorite iconic heroes and acts like a kid at Universal. He establishes an animal and pet training shelter after moving in and helps people with their problems and gives them advice on how to take care of their pets and helps train dogs.
