+ThAtFuNkybOy but john was already good, remember he could play all jimi hendrix songs at age 12, and he was already a guitarist, unlike john, josh has be playing the keyboard and drums and has always been a background musician, so he tried to get the hang of things in the early years, but now hes nailing it
I think Flea and Josh had a problem with their in ear's monitoring when the song starts, if you pay atention, Flea takes a quick look to the monitoring console. There is a video from the side of the stage where you can see that Josh turns back quickly and look at the console too.

Ignacio Barzdevics they both that little funk solo part in the recording, and theyre both playing it here as well, joshs' part just sounds much more pronounced here because flea isnt using the effect from the recording

It's not like they asked John to leave and so they can ask him back again. John went of his own accord, and he's making completely different music. I really, really miss John (from RHCP's live shows especially) but I also love the solo work he is doing, and as fans we have to respect his decision. I think it shows his integrity that he chose to pursue artistic development over money and fame.

hinjurock It's subjective. I like Josh's style and his work with John and with Dot Hacker is great. He brings something new to RHCP. But he's obviously nothing like John, and I think RHCP were a far better live band when John was with them. And John's electronic stuff just requires an open mind and patience. When I first listened to PBX I was horrified. But now it's one of my favourite albums of his. If you honestly think he will return to RHCP anytime soon then you are deluded.
