They played together in the early 2000s Josh was the second guitar player. So when John left josh took his place cuz he knew how to play the songs cuz he watched John play them for years

i saw them in 1995 in italy with Jenis Addictions guitar player...but Frusciante for me was the best one!...Josh has a lot the style of Frusciante

He’s good at covering old material but I personally have been disappointed with his original material, a lot of the new RHCP material is heavily bass driven like it has been written by flea and Josh just added his guitar over it, he needs to step out of the shadow left by John or he will never be able to shine on his own, idk why John left to begin with, he didn’t even show up to the Hall of Fame induction
@@joshuaknudsen3052 the two reasons i heard were creative exhaustion and wanting to focus on his solo work. I don't know of any bad blood between them though. I know Josh actually played guitar on some of John's solo work so he probably introduced him to the band. I could be wrong though
