I suddenly felt the need to quit one week before Ramadan started, and I haven't even peeked at any inappropriate content since then, but I'm getting urges, even while fasting. May Allah grant me the strength to quit, I just want to go back to how I was as a kid, innocent and happy.

Worst comes to worst... it can be a protection from fornication which is a bigger problem, violation, sin for thise perhaps battling the wrong temptations and need to shut down any action in the absolutely haram direction. What I learned: *Masturbation is not Haraam or Sinful and has no direct punishment related to it unless it is done alongside pornography* Proof: For something to become Haraam (prohibited), it must be specifically noted in Qur'an or Authentic Haadith, and there is no direct verse on masturbation. (There is for zina, but zina is different from masturbation for many reasons). Surah Isra and Mu'minoon prohibit zina, but nothing directly against maturbation in particular. It is Makrooh (as stated by this Shiekh) for these reasons: 1. A large percentage of scholars believe it is Makrooh (discouraged), or even permitted with no strings attached. 2. It is not a deed done by noble people 3. If your desire is very extreme and will lead you to zina, it should be done to prevent zina, and according to some, may even be obligatory. Why it is not Haraam: 1. No direct evidence from Qur'an or Sahih Hadith 2. Surah Mu'minoon, Verses 5-7 refer to intercourse and not specifically masturbation (many scholars use this as evidence to make masturbation haraam) 3. A famous and sahih hadith says: If you have strong desires, you should marry as fast as possible, and if not possible, to fast. This sheikh says that fasting as the first option does not make any other options (such as masturbation) haraam, just not prioritized and possibly mubah (permissible). Some notable and famous scholars say it is permissible and has no punishment related to it. Yet a very large percentage of scholars believe it is Haraam and Makrooh to do so, and "masturbation is not a deed done by noble people", it is classified by this Sheikh as Makrooh. Conclusion: Masturbation is Makrooh. This does not mean you should do it, but if your desires are strong and you may go as far as zina, you can. It's been days now I haven't done it since Ramadhan starts, this video is like a guidance to me given by Allah SWT. I want to stop doing it but it's hard, I will stop doing it eventually after having a wife but yeah, I will try my hardest to not do it again in this holy month of Ramadhan and after.

Never look at your private parts keep your gaze away from them 2. Don’t look at videos or pictures of underdressed people the shaytan tries to get you to look to push your desire stay away completely 3. Finally this is the most important everyday read some Quran in the morning and the evening the Quran protects you and guides you and if you take it as a companion it will protect you from yourself and Shaytan May Allah guide us all brothers and make us dominant over Shaytan and ourselves ameen

It is makrooh because if you do it, at least you are not hurting other people or causing damages to other people (even though there are still damages you do to yourself if you do it too often/get addicted). However, if you avoid it, you are doing better because you can direct your energy to do something else that is more productive. Wallahualam. Whatever the truth is, the information should be taken with caution, with a clear understanding on each individual’s situation. For people who are so worried about doing it, it’s probably because they are already experiencing some negative effects from it, and they know it. Yes, doing it too much is not good. Basically everything that is too much is never a good thing, even if the thing itself is initially good or neutral. We can answer it from both a religious perspective and scientific perspective. Even people who are not religious can agree to an extent that too much masturbation is unhealthy, or at least leading to something unhealthy in a long run. I am struggling with this too, I already know that it has made me waste a lot of my time, the time which I could have exchanged for something more productive instead. Hopefully I can gradually decrease it, for my own well being, even if it’s not for a religious purpose. Of course in religion, well-beingness is even more encouraged.

Zakir Naik misquoted Imam Ahmad. Imam Ibn Taymmiyyah said that Amad bin Hanbals opinion is clearly haram and he said the student of ibn Abbas is that it is permitted which is totally not correct. He even said the name of the student wrong he said "Jafa'r ibn Zaid" but "Jabir ibn Zaid" and it is a weak narration since it is repoorted from al-Tawri from Abbad ibn Mansor. You could watch Uthman ibn Farooq's or Farid responds video on it. Shaykh al-Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah was asked about masturbation: “Is it prohibited or not?” He answered in Majmoo’ al-Fataawa [35/229]: “As for masturbation with the hand, then it is prohibited according to the majority of scholars, and this is the more correct saying in the mathhab of Ahmad. Its doer is admonished. The other saying is that it is makrooh, and not prohibited. The vast majority (of scholars) do not permit it whether for fear of fornication or otherwise. It is narrated that from a group of the companions and taabi’een that they licensed it due to necessity, like fear of zina, if one is not protected from it except by masturbating. Ahmad also said that it is permissible for fear of disease. In other than necessity, I do not know anyone who licensed it.”

However there was a huge obstacle. Muhammad had established a father-in-law relationship with Zaynab. Arab culture regards a father-in-law as a father. Such a marriage was akin to incest. The society would be outraged and could cost Muhammad his prophethood. Muhammad prayed to Allah for guidance. Soon after, Allah sent a revelation banning and abrogating adoptions. Now Zayd was no longer his son and by default Zaynab no longer his daughter-in-law. Muhammad received this revelation while enjoying the company of his child wife Aisha. Aisha laughed and said that “Allah surely hastens to fulfill your wishes and desires”. By now Aisha had realized that Muhammad was composing the revelations but attributing them to Allah. The only reason someone feels bad after masturbation is because we release chemical hormones that cause us a feeling of pleasure followed by loneliness. Since we are a group animal, we don't feel that with a partner but do feel it when alone. It's something chemical that can't be controlled.

I set goals to not do it during ramadhan. I succedeed till the 3rd day but I fell. May Allah guides me 😭knowing that I’ve been doing this since I was 18 and now Im 27.
The best tip I can give anyone trying to quit is to quit social media, wallahi all it takes is one picture or inappropriate video to start this chain reaction in your head, and when the urge comes naturally, you have more control as its not triggered by this built up emotion from what you've seen, if you cant control its fine, progress not perfection.
My advice is to find something that you want to achieve and dedicate everything that you have towards that one goal/ accomplishment or lifestyle, while of course remembering to NEVER, ever without exception neglect your worship of Allah (SWT), for me that is dedicating everything towards being the greatest fighter of all time and inshallah I will achieve it. Use these goals as fuel to strive for greatness and achievement, this will most likely annihilate all of these haram/ discouraged desires. Alhamdulillah for everything and may Allah guide us all to Jannatal firdous Inshallah, Ameen.

Guard means guard from others, you literally are the one with the asset, it is yours, you are to use it. But outside of you or your wife, it is not permissible.

But even so when there’s no universal consensus amongst the salafs or the later Islamic scholars, you just have to listen and choose the one you believe is sent by Allah, using your Aql. Fear Allah and you will know what is right and what is wrong.

Masturbation is like drugs you can get addicted to it therefore it is prohibited, don’t try to find any other way around it is HARAM end of the line, though Allah is all merciful and he understands us better than we do, even if you do it do not stop praying and believing in Allah’s mercy

Thawbaan narrated that the Prophet said: "Indeed I know a type of people from my nation who would come on the Day of Judgement with good deeds as big as the mountains of Tihaamah, pure, but Allaah will turn them into scattered dust." Thawbaan asked in fear: "O Prophet of Allaah! Describe them to us, we fear to be amongst them while we do not know." I have struggled with this habit for so many years but now I no longer want it and repented to our creater, Allah sw. It is indeed a bad habit which causes alot of problems in life. What I learned:
*Masturbation is not Haraam or Sinful and has no direct punishment related to it unless it is done alongside pornography*
Proof:
For something to become Haraam (prohibited), it must be specifically noted in Qur'an or Authentic Haadith, and there is no direct verse on masturbation. (There is for zina, but zina is different from masturbation for many reasons). Surah Isra and Mu'minoon prohibit zina, but nothing directly against maturbation in particular.
It is Makrooh (as stated by this Shiekh) for these reasons:
1. A large percentage of scholars believe it is Makrooh (discouraged), or even permitted with no strings attached.
2. It is not a deed done by noble people
3. If your desire is very extreme and will lead you to zina, it should be done to prevent zina, and according to some, may even be obligatory.
Why it is not Haraam:
1. No direct evidence from Qur'an or Sahih Hadith
2. Surah Mu'minoon, Verses 5-7 refer to intercourse and not specifically masturbation (many scholars use this as evidence to make masturbation haraam)
3. A famous and sahih hadith says: If you have strong desires, you should marry as fast as possible, and if not possible, to fast. This sheikh says that fasting as the first option does not make any other options (such as masturbation) haraam, just not prioritized and possibly mubah (permissible).
Some notable and famous scholars say it is permissible and has no punishment related to it. Yet a very large percentage of scholars believe it is Haraam and Makrooh to do so, and "masturbation is not a deed done by noble people", it is classified by this Sheikh as Makrooh.
Conclusion:
Masturbation is Makrooh. This does not mean you should do it, but if your desires are strong and you may go as far as zina, you can.

It is makrooh because if you do it, at least you are not hurting other people or causing damages to other people (even though there are still damages you do to yourself if you do it too often/get addicted). Whatever the truth is, the information should be taken with caution, with a clear understanding on each individual’s situation. For people who are so worried about doing it, it’s probably because they are already experiencing some negative effects from it, and they know it. Yes, doing it too much is not good. Basically everything that is too much is never a good thing, even if the thing itself is initially good or neutral. We can answer it from both a religious perspective and scientific perspective. Even people who are not religious can agree to an extent that too much masturbation is unhealthy, or at least leading to something unhealthy in a long run.
I am struggling with this too, I already know that it has made me waste a lot of my time, the time which I could have exchanged for something more productive instead. However there was a huge obstacle. Muhammad had established a father-in-law relationship with Zaynab. Arab culture regards a father-in-law as a father. Such a marriage was akin to incest. The society would be outraged and could cost Muhammad his prophethood.
Muhammad prayed to Allah for guidance.
Soon after, Allah sent a revelation banning and abrogating adoptions. Now Zayd was no longer his son and by default Zaynab no longer his daughter-in-law.
Muhammad received this revelation while enjoying the company of his child wife Aisha. Aisha laughed and said that “Allah surely hastens to fulfill your wishes and desires”. By now Aisha had realized that Muhammad was composing the revelations but attributing them to Allah.
Soon after, Muhammad married Zaynab.

The only reason someone feels bad after masturbation is because we release chemical hormones that cause us a feeling of pleasure followed by loneliness. Since we are a group animal, we don't feel that with a partner but do feel it when alone. It's something chemical that can't be controlled.

The best tip I can give anyone trying to quit is to quit social media, wallahi all it takes is one picture or inappropriate video to start this chain reaction in your head, and when the urge comes naturally, you have more control as its not triggered by this built up emotion from what you've seen, if you cant control its fine, progress not perfection.

My advice is to find something that you want to achieve and dedicate everything that you have towards that one goal/ accomplishment or lifestyle, while of course remembering to NEVER, ever without exception neglect your worship of Allah (SWT), for me that is dedicating everything towards being the greatest fighter of all time and inshallah I will achieve it. Use these goals as fuel to strive for greatness and achievement, this will most likely annihilate all of these haram/ discouraged desires. Alhamdulillah for everything and may Allah guide us all to Jannatal firdous Inshallah, Ameen.

But even so when there’s no universal consensus amongst the salafs or the later Islamic scholars, you just have to listen and choose the one you believe is sent by Allah, using your Aql. Fear Allah and you will know what is right and what is wrong.

I stopped before two months,there are the days when struggle is big but i refrain myself,it naturally came out in dreams every 10-12 days .thanks to Allah ,He saved me from fornication .it would be very tough to fast 365 days for life because how things are now i will never marry.may Allah gives us patience and make strong our iman
Suggestions for you brother you've already passed the 2 months test now just hang on there one extra month you won't even feel like doing it believe me when I say this, I had the exact same experience like you I quit it 2 months before Ramadan and in Ramadan I would never do it so it became 3 months and now I've totally conquered it I swear it's been three years and I've never been to any po*n web it's a true blessing you are so close to achieve it after 3 months it just becomes a habit and then you won't even have to fight against it it'll become something in your nature.

Zakir Naik misquoted Imam Ahmad. Imam Ibn Taymmiyyah said that Amad bin Hanbals opinion is clearly haram and he said the student of ibn Abbas is that it is permitted which is totally not correct. He even said the name of the student wrong he said "Jafa'r ibn Zaid" but "Jabir ibn Zaid" and it is a weak narration since it is repoorted from al-Tawri from Abbad ibn Mansor. You could watch Uthman ibn Farooq's or Farid responds video on it.
Shaykh al-Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah was asked about masturbation: “Is it prohibited or not?” He answered in Majmoo’ al-Fataawa [35/229]: “As for masturbation with the hand, then it is prohibited according to the majority of scholars, and this is the more correct saying in the mathhab of Ahmad. Its doer is admonished. The other saying is that it is makrooh, and not prohibited. The vast majority (of scholars) do not permit it whether for fear of fornication or otherwise. It is narrated that from a group of the companions and taabi’een that they licensed it due to necessity, like fear of zina, if one is not protected from it except by masturbating. Ahmad also said that it is permissible for fear of disease. In other than necessity, I do not know anyone who licensed it.”

don’t be fooled brother, this deed is haram. i used to think it wasn’t and i will admit, i indulged in it. i convinced myself it wasn’t haram because why would it be? but brother it is written clearly in the quran
{And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors.} (Al-Muminun 23:5-7)
