The crowd on this video is the a-z of british celebrities and sports stars in the 80's from breakfast tv weather girl Wincy Willis, BBC news anchor Anglea rippon , through sports like dennis law, Sir Jackie charlton, to star actors charles dance, Bob hoskins, Robbie coltrane and mega rockstars status quo, Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, just too many to mention them all by name, amazing audience for the king of comedy ...
What amuses me most about the audience is, the (shall we say) celebrities with serious images on tv having a real good laugh. Same for me, the audience with the late, great Victoria Wood.
Billy is awesome. He is from here in Scotland and there's paintings on buildings around Glasgow of him. My cousin saw him and tried to just say hi to him but he's a talker lol. I loves meeting new people. It's sad that he can't do his comedy anymore.
I’m SOOOOOO happy that you found Billy! This is one of his best! I’m making a short documentary about Billy as I want more people to be introduced to his god given talent for making people laugh! It gives me so much joy that people from across the pond are finding him! He’s one of my hero’s and I wanted to make something in tribute to him as he’s turning 80 this year and his Parkinson’s seems to be getting the better of him sadly. We need to remember this LEGEND.
Billy Connolly is a national treasure and legend of comady who l have adored for as long as I can remember. .my dad being from the same area probably predisposed me to having billy as my favourite comic.
I used to have a video of this show. I played it so much I could say the words along with him. And even though I've seen it hundreds of times I still laugh even though I know what he's going to say. This is Billy at his very best.
Your right it was Billy in his prime talking about Glasgow, I remember going up to Castlemilk as a boy, it was a great environment, lovely kids playing in the yard very kind to me
I recall that this special was when Billy had kinda disappeared for a year or so and then came on out TV screens with this. (Correct me, troops, if I am wrong). He fired this gig and, then, went stellar. Amazing performance. Sean - loving yr sincere reaction to this. Thanks for the reminder of this show.
You're right ... what's more is that every person in the audience is a celebrity ... actors, rock stars, footballers, singers, comedians, talk show hosts.
Almost had as much fun spotting all the celebs in the audience as I had with Billy himself. It's like looking at the Sgt. Pepper album cover. Even Ringo was there!
You mentioned about being at his prime when Billy did this. You're kinda right, because it was always seen that in the good old days, if you were asked to do "An audience with...." in Britain, it showed you were at the top and/or popular (except for Take That), they were never good. 😉😏
I remember seeing this on TV when it came out back in the late 70s, we had some friends round to watch it with us, and one of my mates laughed so much he had a fit, and we had to take him to hospital, so I didn't see most of it till it came out on video, great reaction
Sean, I hoped you spotted one of Britain's great actors the late Tim Piggott-Smith, he's the guy in the audience with light ginger hair & beard, that by the end is almost exhausted due laughing so much, it always cracks me up, his reaction. The poor man is worn out with laughing.
Something to keep in mind for this special: you may think you recognise some of the audience members. That is because the front section is mostly Britain's A-listers of the time.
This is one of a whole series of stand up shows, by UK comedians/celebs, but BC was the best! And all in front of a celebrity audience! Most non-UK watchers won't recognise many, but you might get a few!
A few others in the audience include Suzi Quatro, Joanna Lumley, Francis Rossi, Jimmy Tarbuck, Michael Parkinson, Jennifer Saunders, Bob Geldof, Bill Wyman, Bobby Charlton, Clive James, Bob Hoskins, Ringo Starr, Roger Taylor. There are others there that are kind of familiar, but their names escape me!
You seem to really like Billy, I think you'd love Peter Cook and Dudley Moore! or Derek and Clive their comedy alter ego's, please consider a reaction!
Hi Sean, We watch you more than the act thats on. We decided that if we went to one of these shows we want to take you with us, you have a great sense of humour...Thanks for the fun...Always peace to you buddy. (If you feel strong enough try Bernard Manning. on "The Comedians" )
Hearing and seeing BC is like undoing your belt two notches and by the end of the show you’v no belt at all, or for women tantamount to taking your bra off.😂😂
Here's the thing. yes it seems like this is billy at the high of his powers. However this was just hum hitting his stride. In my opinion. Here he's like 15 years off his artistic peak and he just keeps getting better
woo hooooooooooo, i suggested that :-)

Billy Connelly is a national treasure for sure 💛😂😂
Definitely Billy at his prime. A joy to watch, he makes all your laughing muscles ache to the extreme. I think you're finding that out yourself 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Love Billy Connolly
Glad you enjoy Billy Connolly he always makes me laugh
I love your delivery, no interruptions or stopping/starting. Brilliant!
I was just going to say the same thing! Refreshing approach...
I am crying at him and you, keep it up thanks.
His best ever performance in my opinion.
Lovely. Seeing all the TV and sport celebreties from my younger days/ Billy, what can I say? Wonderful. Thankyou.
Thank you Sean in appreciating our Scottish culture the way you do.
I've been watching Sir Billy Connolly for 40 years now, he is away and by far my favorite comedian EVER!
Love watching your reaction to oor billy 😆😆😆😆👍🏼🏴
Robin Williams coined Billy as the father of stand up comedy, they were best mates till death did they part.
I think Billy is the greatest comedian ever.
I remember fondly watching this when it first came out,I pissed myself laughing, and still do to this day 😆😆👍🏼🏴
One of the funniest Billy videos of all time .. absolute legend
Brilliant! I watched this over and over as a teenager, I still think it's one of the best stand up sets I've ever seen
Was your vhs as worn out as mine by the end of it? Lol
Billy is awesome. He is from here in Scotland and there's paintings on buildings around Glasgow of him. My cousin saw him and tried to just say hi to him but he's a talker lol. I loves meeting new people. It's sad that he can't do his comedy anymore.
1985 TV special brilliant
Love Billy Connolly went to see him in Birmingham UK in the late 80s I had never laughed so much in my life. Brilliant

As a Scots man myself.
lm glad you laughed so much you face hurts....and then you laugh some more and a wee bit of pee comes out.
Great reaction mate.
Billy Connolly is a national treasure and legend of comady who l have adored for as long as I can remember. .my dad being from the same area probably predisposed me to having billy as my favourite comic.
1985! I remember it like yesterday.
Your reactions are making my day! Billy is our national treasure, so glad you’re enjoying him too 😁
"Bike! I'll give you bike"!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Billy's the king. Thanks for the great laugh, can't wait for Part 2 :)
He had a singing career for a bit in the 60's and 70's. He was in a folk band called the Humblebums🥰
With Gerry Rafferty
I used to have a video of this show. I played it so much I could say the words along with him. And even though I've seen it hundreds of times I still laugh even though I know what he's going to say. This is Billy at his very best.
Same ,Absolutely hilarious 🤣
Remember watching it first time it was on and have enjoyed it many times since.
Your right it was Billy in his prime talking about Glasgow, I remember going up to Castlemilk as a boy, it was a great environment, lovely kids playing in the yard very kind to me
Scottish legend
Love that Billy’s material stretches across the pond. He’s our national hero.
He is the funniest comedian I have watched in my life.
Sean have you ever had the chance to visit Scotland? After the Covid situation is over you should if you can. You will love it here.
I recall that this special was when Billy had kinda disappeared for a year or so and then came on out TV screens with this. (Correct me, troops, if I am wrong). Freaky seeing all those celebs looking so young.
Or Alive 🤣🤣👍🏻
Time and that 🤷♂️
I know, right? Check out Tywin Lannister at 13:22
I don't know how many times I've watched this since it was broadcast in the Eighties, but it doesn't get any less funny over time.
This is definitely Billy in his prime, however you have to remember that Billy was in his prime for years!
I asked for this and so glad it has finally been done
Thanks man.. A good laugh is worth it's weight in gold... No better than Billy to furnish that... Many thanks..
The big yin is brilliant
Robbie Coltrane, the actor who played Hagrid in Harry Potter was in that audience. The camera panned towards him a few times.
@@mondegreen9709 The sad part is how many in the audience are no longer with us :(
You seem to be a lovely human, I love your reactions, well done and keep on going
You mentioned about being at his prime when Billy did this. You're kinda right, because it was always seen that in the good old days, if you were asked to do "An audience with...." in Britain, it showed you were at the top and/or popular (except for Take That), they were never good. 😉😏

Billy is the #1 comedian of all time... He keeps it clean.. But also makes a room full of comedians and celebrities laugh so hard.... #1
Comedy gold
I remember seeing this on TV when it came out back in the late 70s, we had some friends round to watch it with us, and one of my mates laughed so much he had a fit, and we had to take him to hospital, so I didn't see most of it till it came out on video, great reaction
I 'love your site. Toby from England
I still have this on video except haven't owned a video player for over 20yrs.
So much fun, especially doing celebrity spotting in the audience (it's basically famous people only... well, famous in 80s Britain that is)
Sean, I hoped you spotted one of Britain's great actors the late Tim Piggott-Smith, he's the guy in the audience with light ginger hair & beard, that by the end is almost exhausted due laughing so much, it always cracks me up, his reaction. The poor man is worn out with laughing.

Billy is hilarious and a legend. Another good Scottish stand up is Frankie Boyle
best ever
Its funny watching famous people in the audience.
I'm just amazed at you understanding his accent. My better half is English and she can't understand a word he says. Seriously funny guy though.
“I’m not on a Y.O.P. scheme”...Youth. Opportunities. Scheme. = Work experience programme. 🇬🇧
Great to see the uk's famous of the ti.me pissing themselves laughing...

Yes, there are indeed a lot of crazy people out there and I'm trying my damnedest to not become one of them. 😂
It's great for the people of my generation but you're young and won't know the famous actors and singers of the day
Check out dylan moran
Asking as a BLACK MAN. why?
Anybody can watch a video. What is your point?
peak connolly. he gradually got less and less funny as the years went by.
