Pro tip: when changing a diaper, first run a wetwipe on their tummy before you open up the dirty diaper. Wait a few seconds, THEN open up the dirty diaper. The cold feeling on their tummy from the wipe will help baby pee (if he/she has been holding one in) BEFORE you open up the diaper/INTO the dirty diaper, so you can then safely carry on with the diaper change, without the fear of getting peed on ! lol That's the whole reason they ever shoot one out when you're changing their diaper -- it's the cold air hitting that area that stimulates them to pee! So skip that potentially gross step and just use the wetwipe trick! ;)
My neighbor told me that her trick is to open the diaper, blow on their penis, and then hold the diaper closed for about 10 seconds. She says it works for her every single time.
I'm 16 years old. Nowhere close to having children. Yet I am obsessed with your videos. They're so positive and real and comforting. You're doing a great job!
20 year old guy here and gettin ready to have a baby, you’ve by far been the realest and most genuine mom youtuber i’ve come across, thank you for all the tips 👍🏾
FunnykiddoRoshelle oh i know! I’m happy to still be a virgin :) just thought it was funny that I was watching this and I am no where near ready to have a baby lol
“Don’t we look like vegans?!” LMAO girl you’re hilarious and I love you. I can’t wait until my little gal gets here in February and your channel has been so helpful for me. Love you and your family!! 💜
I love your personality!!! “She colored on the chair , BUT it’s pink my favorite color” “we punished her , took away princess dresses” literally made me crack up .. 😂❤️
Bless this woman oh my gosh. I lost my mom a year and a half ago, and I was never close with any of my aunts or older cousins, so I never had anyone to teach me this stuff. Thank you for sharing the things that I didn’t know I need to know.
Honestly I struggle so much with being a mom. It’s hard. I have a one month old now and it’s difficult. I don’t know what’s going on half the time and feel like a failure at some points in the day. This video I can totally relate to. Some people (aka me) just don’t love being a mom. But I love my baby. Some child care would really help
I have a 1 month old too. It's hard to enjoy this part with the lack of sleep, trying to heal my body, wanting personal space and everything in life feels so different.
My babybis a week old and last night was the first night i gave up. I basically left her to cry in her crib until her dad took over i cried for 15 mins and asked for her back. When it gets hard ive been told to love them more bc the frustration is what leads down to depression
As a nanny who gets to see people's lives behind closed doors, let me say that you sound 100% normative. Every new mom struggles from time to time (more often than most will tell their friends) and new mothers especially feel like they are failing or don't know what to do. Please be gentle with yourself. It is incredibly difficult when you are so sleep-deprived to think rationally. Plus, if you gave birth (rather than adopting), your body is filled with all kinds of hormones and it is still trying to recover from childbirth, which is incredibly taxing on the female body (mind and emotions, too). Being a mother is likely the most challenging job you will ever do, and it never ends it just changes are your child develops. It will always be challenging and you will always be learning and growing as your child grows up. Being a loving, nurturing mother can make all the difference in how resilient your child will be. Little ones instinctively know what is fair and what is not. If you ever feel like you make a mistake, just apologize sincerely to your little one and remind them (and yourself) that you are still learning as a new mom. You can do this!
the most realistic mom life-Thank You!!!! I'm over here all bummed out that my baby is fussy, hates the car, cries like mad at bathtime etc and you're just like 'thats OK' and so positive!! Great to know I'm not the only one :)
i struggle with the anxiety of any of my family members dying, including pets, so i love that you acknowledge that extra bit of constant worry about a kid dying just so matter of factly...
Thank you so much for your videos. I don't have anyone around me to guide me through motherhood, am pregnant with my first & felt totally overwhelmed until I found your channel. 🧡
As a first time mama your videos are heaven sent, your like my mama cheerleader, whenever I need a boost I come to your channel because I know I am going to get it from you. The "your doing great" makes me tear up every single time. Thank you for being you and sharing your heart with us
I can feel my anxiety decreasing as I watch this video. I had my first baby 3 weeks ago and everything I thought I knew just doesn't work or I've forgotten it.
You are so candid about motherhood and taking care of a newborn. It’s so refreshing! This is the real deal - not social media perfection kind of motherhood ❤️❤️❤️
I’m obsessed with these videos. I have a two week old baby girl and I sometimes feel like I’m just flailing around not knowing what I’m doing. These videos have been so helpful, thank you so much for making them!! 🖤
You are just so lovely and approachable! I'm being induced with my first baby in THREE DAYS (omg) and your videos have been such a great source of comfort, reassurance and knowledge for me. Thank you! I wish we could hang out - ha!
Don't have kids yet, but looking soon to start a family. Your whole vibe to parenting is so extremely refreshing, and the "do the best you can" attitude needs to be contagious to all new parents! Thank you for making these! The visual aids and seeing your little are super helpful!
Wow thank you!! I’m 39 weeks with my first and have NEVER been around a baby in my life so stumbling upon your channel and hearing about some of the same struggles I’ve had in life as well and the actual idiots guide to a newborn is just what I’ve needed! I also super appreciate that you’re honest about motherhood!! I made a few videos at the beginning of my pregnancy because I couldn’t find ANYONE on UA-cam being honest about how miserable it can be, and it’s so refreshing to see someone being genuine about motherhood not always being the best either, eases my anxieties about entering the biggest change of my life!! ❤️
I love the phrase "plug him back up" 😆 that being said, I find this extremely useful! I am about 3 weeks away from having my very first baby and this has helped me feel more prepared for the road ahead!
My husband and I have just started trying, and I really appreciate the parts of your video where you say that you don't know what you're doing lol. It makes me more confident that even if I'm not perfect, I'll be okay
I love coming back to your videos . I have a two month old almost 3 months and everyone around me is always telling me what I’m doing wrong and what I should be doing so hearing you say “you’re doing great” and reminding me that I am lucky enough to be a mom is so refreshing.
I love your baby content! I love your attitude and your whole demeanor! You seem real and not like normal you tubers that promote products that are ridiculously expensive.
You’re such a breathe of UA-cam fresh air! Especially as I’ve seen so many tips videos - yours definitely stands out as so refreshing! Such a lovely attitude, funny and enjoyable to watch! Big love to this 🙌
You are just wonderful. I LOVE your heart as a mom, and you have the sweetest personality. I giggle watching your videos, and they make me smile. I am sure others smile too, because you are just your own person. I am 29 weeks pregnant with my first baby!! TY SO MUCH for making your videos. They are helpful.
I’m so grateful for your videos. As a first timer (3 month’s pregnant) I’ve been feeling nervous. These videos are encouraging and informative. Thank you ❤
Your an amazing human! Normalising the downsides, hard parts or what people say you “should already know” or are “common sense” is such a refreshing thing to watch. Even just talking about it helps so much, so thank you 🙏🏼
About to be a first time mom and I have no idea if I will love it or hate it. Thank you for sharing your experiences and sharing that not all of us are gonna have it all together and that’s fine. We can figure it out as we go, learn from each other and we don’t have to be perfect.
I work at a Greater Seattle YMCA in our kids corner! Thanks for the shout out, coming to our gym and being apart of our YMCA family. We love to hear that we're helping parents and we are part of your trusted village to help you raise your future world changer!!
If you aren't helping anyone else you're helping me lol. I'm 20 and my son is about a week or so younger than yours and your videos help me so much. Thank you for posting
I had a miscarriage last week, and I just wanted to let you know how helpful I've found so your videos since. I watch you with your adorable baby and feel hope that I will eventually be able to have one of my own.
Thank you for these videos! I'm getting induced tonight and watching you go through the motions with your baby is really helping me take my mind off of my ANXIETY!
I work at a gym childcare and it really helps parents so much. We have so many regulars who come almost every day and tell us how amazing it is that we watch their kids and give them a break. We only watch kids for at most two hours, and even in just that time I can understand how hard it’d be to have them 24/7 with no break. I highly recommend it to every parent. You don’t even have to work out, you could just take a shower uninterrupted or chill on your phone in the sauna. Plus, I feel like this job has made me so informative on children and babies. I get moms coming in and asking me for advice because I’ve seen so many different children with different problems etc. Plus it gives me great connections for babysitting, where I learn even more about childcare. Three years ago I’d never held a baby, now I’m alone with a newborn four times a week and watching countless other children from ages 1 month to 12 years. Idk just thought I’d share since she mentioned gym childcare.
It’s not just an opinion that dokatots are unsafe. I get it, my Mum was a midwife and still coslept with me, even after an incident where I could have suffocated because that’s the only place I’d sleep. But the brand itself tells you they’re unsafe for sleeping in, there have been multiple recorded infant deaths in Dokatots since 2018 and even more when you look at sleeping nests in general. They are pillows and very unsafe for sleeping, they’re designed for short periods of lounging when baby is alert.
I enjoy your humor and honesty! I’m also not near my mom/sisters and don’t really know anyone else with babies so I need all the real-world info I can get. You may not be a “professional” but your videos are still helpful and enjoyable to watch! You may not think of it this way but the positivity and realism you project is just as valid and useful of a skill as your other tips :)
I’m so glad I found your channel!! I’m 17 weeks along with my first, and your positivity, humor, and honesty are making me feel much more self-assured about starting this new adventure. Thank you!
You make me so much less terrified for my baby to get here. Thank you❤️ my family is also far away during this crazy season of life, and I have ZERO experience taking care of babies, your videos make it seem way less daunting and you give simple, clear instructions. Much appreciated!
Thanks so much for these! My husband and I are in the process of adopting with both of our parents across the country; it is hard to find good/honest basics when there is no female/mom in the picture. I love your energy and humor!
You are hilarious!!! I've been loving your videos :) I have a 4yo and a newborn, and your baby 101 and 102 videos have been really nice to see as a refresher!
You are so sweet and remember that whatever you’re doing , whether you think is right or not so bueno, you are still the best mother for your children in the whole Universe. Every day is a new day and whatever you didn’t get it quite right yesterday, you’ll get a chance to do it better today, this is the essence of parenthood. A journey of you and your children that is unique.
You seem like a really lovely kind person. So many ppl who don't have mums or women around this is so so useful. Just wanna say you have a really kind vibe coming off you 💖
I am a first time mom with a 2.5 month old. You are amazing and I love that you do this. Thank you for being so real and open in sharing what has helped you.
I’m so happy I came across your channel! I am 7 weeks pregnant and have no experience with babies whatsoever which is super scary and nerve racking! Your videos are definitely making me feel more confident.. especially knowing every new mom is probably feeling the same way 💗 Thank you so much for making these videos !!! Much love to you & your beautiful family 😊
I love your channel only even by looking at these two videos of the baby 101 series. I love how you're so raw and authentic you're moving around the room with your baby you're not trying to act perfect and primrose prepped for the video you're just in your house doing the video getting to it and explaining and harnessing what it means to have an infant. I appreciate the authenticity and it really goes to show that you don't have to be so extra to have the life you want with a newborn. Thanks again love your whole life ✨✨
You are such a gift to me I sincerely thank you ♥ I have no big sister, I have no mom or anyone to help me and I'm so grateful for these real life tips, please keep on doing these videos ♥♥
I'm 29wks with my first and watching your videos helps me feel so at ease with being a mom soon! Really valuable content you share, thank you for sharing :)
I love your videos 😍 they are so "real" (if you get what I mean 😊) I'll should have my baby in a month so... I found all your tips and information to be extremely helpful!
I wish I had seen a video like this when I first had our son. I felt like I was not doing anything right and was super stressed out all of the time. I love your honesty and sense of humor. It is refreshing to watch a mom learning as you go. Keep up the great work 😊
I really like your style. Reality is that nothing we do in life is going to be perfect. That doesn't mean that your best isn't good enough. Your description of the nappy change, peepee teepee was hilarious, but you also sound like you know what you are doing and that you are doing it well. It was informative, too! I never had kids but sort of feel that watching motherhood type vlogs gives me some of what I never got. Especially with newborns and their cuteness, minus the sleeplessness! Thanks for making me laugh 😜💗🌵
I appreciate you for your honesty... you’re amazing and very helpful. I nurse in bed and co sleep and I have anxiety like crazy doing it. He sleeps better with me and now I created a monster. 🤷🏻♀️Thank you for your videos.
You are seriously hilarious! I am obsessed with your channel because of your real honesty but also your positivity. Every video of yours that I have watched, I literally say "omg thank goodness I'm not alone". I don't have a huge, close support group and this is my first baby so I follow a lot of youtube mom channels. Your's is by far my favorite and I love how you don't push a product and how down to earth you are. You're amazing and inspiring!!! THANK YOU for sharing your life with us 🙏
i'm so glad i found you!! I'm having twins due in August and thought I'd just brush up on some basics. This is the beset baby video I've ever seen. When you said, "Don't we look like vegans?" I knew you were my people
Pro tip: when changing a diaper, first run a wetwipe on their tummy before you open up the dirty diaper. So skip that potentially gross step and just use the wetwipe trick! ;)
This is genius! I don't know why I never thought of this.
Some people blow at their stomach
My neighbor told me that her trick is to open the diaper, blow on their penis, and then hold the diaper closed for about 10 seconds. She says it works for her every single time.
Ahh love this!
I'm 16 years old. Nowhere close to having children. Yet I am obsessed with your videos. They're so positive and real and comforting. You're doing a great job!
Etta same!! I can’t wait tho for when I do get to have kids 😆😆
Same! I'm not as young but I just love these videos even though I don't have kids
I think it's becaue she is such a genuine and real person. She's not a pretender like so many on UA-cam.
Samee
yeah
"Don't we look like vegans?" 😂😂
😂
This sent me! Hahahaha!
That was the best line of the whole video!!!
“Who are really nuts and granola”😂😂😂 cracked me up
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I absolutely love this woman. What a legend.
20 year old guy here and gettin ready to have a baby, you’ve by far been the realest and most genuine mom youtuber i’ve come across, thank you for all the tips 👍🏾
Jessica: *Congrats on being a mom! You’re doing so great!*
Me, a 20 year old virgin who doesn’t even know if she wants kids: *WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH*
Natalie Coffman wow 20 yrs old and still a Virgin
FunnykiddoRoshelle There is nothing wrong with that. I am 21 turning 22 in two months and still a virgin.
FunnykiddoRoshelle oh i know! I’m happy to still be a virgin :) just thought it was funny that I was watching this and I am no where near ready to have a baby lol
Natalie Coffman That’s funny. I just turned 20 and I’m already 4 months pregnant lol!
Genifer Romero I hope you ain’t talking about my comment because I was not making fun of her
This makes me so happy. Women looking out for women, the way it should be. Sisterhood ❤️
Love your honesty. I don't think mom's really like talking about the crapy parts about being a mom. Again thank you 😘
It’s very refreshing seeing a mom with used (loved) items for their babe. Not everything has to be brand new and super expensive 💕
As a vegan mom that carries my 3.5 month old gal everywhere I loved that comment, made me feel great 😂 even though I’m a hot mess
🤣🤣🤣 If a mom of a newborn is NOT a hot mess, they lying
Same! 😂
“Don’t we look like vegans?!”
LMAO girl you’re hilarious and I love you. I can’t wait until my little gal gets here in February and your channel has been so helpful for me. Love you and your family!! 💜
Good luck with your little gal!
I love your personality!!! “She colored on the chair , BUT it’s pink my favorite color” “we punished her , took away princess dresses” literally made me crack up .. 😂❤️
🤣🤣

You can do it! My little one is almost 2 months now and I feel like time flies.
“yesterday i almost dropped him” LMAOOO THIS IS WHY I WATCH YOU EVEN THOUGH IM NOT GONNA HAVE KIDS FOR SO LONG
Okay so I’m not the only one that has anxiety that my newborn is gonna die 😫
Dymond Bell. All moms do! I have the snoza hero on my registry for this very reason.
I’m due in 12 days and I’m already paranoid about it
I’m bringing home twins in December and the anxiety about them dying is going to kill me faster 😭
I had a miscarriage before my rainbow baby girl I had a month ago and SAME. I have postpartum anxiety very badly.
I’m mostly scared that I’ll accidentally kill my baby. It’s irrational but I keep thinking I’ll be baby wearing and I’ll fall and crush the baby.
Thank you so much for your videos. I don't have anyone around me to guide me through motherhood, am pregnant with my first & felt totally overwhelmed until I found your channel. 🧡

You are so candid about motherhood and taking care of a newborn. It’s so refreshing! This is the real deal - not social media perfection kind of motherhood ❤️❤️❤️
I feel like this is one of the most honest and reassuring accounts of motherhood
OMFG I LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN YOU SAID “don’t we look like vegans?” 😂😂 I love you!

One of the most genuine, honest and heartwarming videos I have seen in a while. Much love

If I could give this video 1,000 likes, I would. Thank you for all that you do, and being so open and honest!

She's great isn't she! We found Dunstan Baby Language useful too.
Look at me 17 years old watching baby videos at 7am before virtual school during quarantine 🥺💗
Im no where near close to having kids but i just find babies so fascinating!

Every day is a new day and whatever you didn’t get it quite right yesterday, you’ll get a chance to do it better today, this is the essence of parenthood. A journey of you and your children that is unique.
You are so sweet! Your words at the end of the video make me cry, because I’m a new mom at 29 weeks and sometimes I’m scare. So thanks ❤️✨✨!!!
Your honesty and energy are beautiful 💖 thank you for being real❤️
Having my first baby in December:) and your videos have really helped me be okay with the feeling of me not knowing what I’m doing :) ! Thank you 💚💚
I love your videos 😍 they are so "real" (if you get what I mean 😊) I'll should have my baby in a month so... I found all your tips and information to be extremely helpful!
I'm not a mom yet, but I love this lady!
So helpful and informative! I’m 20 years old and 2 months pregnant! I’m so excited to become a mom :)
Love your honesty and practicality 💕
The soundmachine for Mama had me in stitches! And it makes so much sense, I feel the same way! :D
I wish I had seen a video like this when I first had our son. I felt like I was not doing anything right and was super stressed out all of the time. I love your honesty and sense of humor. It is refreshing to watch a mom learning as you go. Keep up the great work 😊
im pregnant at week 32 and are always tired. But you look so happy and full of energy, and that brings me joys :)
Youre like the sister i dont have but will need when i get children
Thank you so much for your videos , it really helps me when I am fatigued and up all night and feeling overwhelmed . God bless you

I feel so positive after watching your videos...you sound so soothing and happy in what u do...
Stay positive!we can do it together!
I appreciate these videos so much!! Not anywhere near family or friends and having my first kid at 22!
This is sooo cute! I’m not even pregnant but seeing Jessica being such a positive and uplifting mom makes me wanna have a baby!!!
