I'm a model train buff and have been since they bought me from the hospital. I have meet some awesome people and been to some life changing meet ups. If any girls think that's a red flag, then baby I am going to wave that flag like I'm the happiest flag man ever.😂
Something that's very concerning is: Excessive use of social media. Like... Constantly being glued to Instagram (or at this point even just using it.) and thus comparing yourself to others. (Though that's a whole branch of red flags in of itself.) Generally just always caring way more about what others think, instead of what you actually think. Though that's more of a character flaw than a hobby, but a red flag nonetheless.
Made it through another one of these without hearing my main hobby mentioned lol! I collect model trains, it's something I started when I was little and never really went away. I'm at the point where I like what I like and if someone thinks it's boring or nerdy that's fine. Probably wouldn't mention it on a first date though!
My husband loves trains. I built him a 8×6 place to run his trains in the HO scale. We both like Harry Potter so I got him that train set for his birthday. I don't have much to do with running it, but I love the challenge of making the layout as accurate as possible. Something he says he's not good at.
@breeinatree4811 that's awesome I'm glad it's something you seem to be supportive of! I hope you both get plenty of enjoyment out of it. P.s. the details are what make it a fun challenge
@stevendeen4391 no, he only collects nazi stuff. He snaps to attention and gives the nazi salute, saying hiel Hitler. He's about 70 years old and he's been doing this his whole life. Then he wonders why nobody will marry him. Like I said, he scares me.
Hardly anyone had valid answers to the question. Half the answers were NPCs who couldn't handle being around anyone remotely interesting, and the other half were people who had the experience of being flagged as not mundane enough by an NPC.
Girls that have horses is a huge no no for me. Also, someone not liking me playing videogames is an even bigger red flag. I work 70 hrs a week, I AM PLAYING MY GAMES 😂
What HOBBY Is An Instant RED FLAG? *Shopping.* I've never met anyone who's hobby is shopping that wasn't in a huge amount of debt or constantly borrowing money from friends and family.
Story 1 sounds like a karen. Remember, before video games, there was golf/bowling/etc and/or going to the bar. Video games is the new "going golfing with the guys". The female equivalent would be "going tomthe mall" or shopping. These are outlets we take to escape reality.
As a single gamer I understand the red flags of the Hobby, especially when you take into account the stereotypes which exist for a reason. Heck I remember a Facebook post a while back that asked for some dating red flags and under every single girl that said gaming there was about a million guys trying to defend the hobby. My fellow gaming kings of the young lady says she doesn’t like it trying to forcefully defend will not work for you, you will not win her over and chances are you’re just alienating her away from ever possibly giving you a chance. Instead just keep looking and if a girl either likes gaming or is an active gamer then that’s who you should try to ask out and for the love of god don’t get pissy when she whoops your butt!
So now people can not enjoy a few hours of gaming after work. Screw that, I do not use my console that often, but I would not judge somebody for trying to enjoy the rest of their day.
I don't think the people in the video have any idea what a red flag actually is. There was what 1, maybe 2 slightly iffy ones there. The rest were "not my thing" and/or because of a bunch of other stuff not necessarily the actual hobby. Unemployed - some see that as a red flag. Games all day - unhealthy. Unemployed, actively applying for work and spending time gaming - not an issue (imo). Depending on the game and set-up, it can be very social and beneficial. You can get a lot of peer support from online gaming communities. That support can make the torture of looking for work far more tolerable. Actual red flag hobbies? I don't think many exist. Heaps that would immediately put me off a person, but that doesn't make it a red flag. A red flag is meant to be a warning that a person is or might be dangerous. Now if the hobby was collecting Nazi memorabilia (as someone else said) - that would be a red flag. Taxidermy - depends on what animals and/or why. I don't like it. I can see why people think it's creepy. But consider this - a mortician does to a human body what a taxidermist does to an animal - only difference is that the animal doesn't get buried.
Only 99% sure? I don't think that it could have been any more obvious that it was written by a woman. I don't think I've ever met a guy that has complained about a gamer girl lol
Some of these stories make me mad because of the 'tism pov 😔 Special interests can be one hell of a trip, but doesnt necessarily makes someone a "weirdo"
I wondered how many other people spotted that. Reading Pratchett is a good part-time hobby, with a side benefit of some really well thought out philosophy
Oh thats exactly it 😭 Anime is a whole medium so theres plenty of room for reasonable "obsessions", but loli/shota stuff is an instant NOPE I think the most """acceptable""" (quotes cuz imho theres no harm in being really into anime in a non-hurtful way) weeb type is the ghibli fanatics iirc
Never understood why playing video games was such a red flag. It's quite literally equivalent to watching TV every night when you get home from work, except with games you can talk with friends and play coop games. Games can make you think and require strategy to solve. Meanwhile Shelby is over on the couch binge watching the 18th season of My 4000 Pound Life.
The takeaway from this video. "If the person has a hobby that I'm not interested in or I am politically against. The hobby is a red flag." The spider phobia is valid though.
Most of this video can be summarized with "letting hobbies become obsessions." That said, there's fine line between obsession and special interest, which was kind of the vibe I got from the Disney one. I don't make mine my entire personality or have it in every room of my house because I need room for other things, lol, but if you're okay with engaging in the topic with me, you'll get a lot more out of me than with any other topic.
First one, if your girlfriend can't be okay with you playing games every so often, maybe a couple days a week at most? Leave her. Unnecessary childish bullshiy like that answer is why this worlds dating scene is so bad these days.
A red flag for me is someone who doesn't like others playing video games lol. Swap out video games for literally any hobby in that story - how can you call it a hobby if you don't invest time into it? The person that wrote Srory 1 sounds like the same person they are describing in story 2 haha.
What’s funny about the first story, is literally, all they would have to do is partake in the hobby with their partner. That’s it. They also don’t seem to realize that people can be cognitively impaired, even if they’re “able-bodied”.
I couldn't care less unless it is unjustifiably dangerous, especially to others, or suggests that the person has questionable views, to say the least. i.e. I'd most definitely be squinting at somebody who they collected Nazi-related memorabilia and talked about them in a glorifying fashion. People can collect those things without being a bad person, so the way they talk about it does play a role in how concerning I'd find it.
That first entry was absolute nonsense. What a self-absorbed thing to say. So what? We're not allowed to have our own interests or hobbies? We're not allowed to play video games? We come home from like a 10-hour shift and we just want to relax for an hour before we have to go to bed, is that so wrong ? Or having a day off and we want to game a little bit. The person who wrote that first one is extremely high maintenance and probably a nightmare to be around.
The horse girl thing is dead on. It seems the commenters is ranting but I grew up in a horse town in East Texas and all the horse girls did exactly that. I now live in a different state where horeses aren’t as common but the attitude is the exact same.
The first girl will always find something to say about your life. Whether its playing video games, working out too much, and then when he finally gets his gets his stuff together it will turn into "you work too much". Theyre never happy until everyone else is miserable or paying all their attention to them. WILD.
What was that first story? Like that Girl was the red flag as what she was complaining about could be applied to any hobby, like that person needs to get a hobby themselves as expecting your SO to revolve around you or provide you will entertainment is unhealthy and you won't last long. And people in the comments were right Story 6 was a rant and not a answer but not as bad as Story . Also the rest of the stories came across as the people telling them being petty aside from the spider one and the bit about posting their family vlogs online for money. Like most of this video was more so "What i don't like in or for my Partner to do is..." instead of actual read flags. Now again the first story that girl telling it was the red flag
the first girl sounded stupid at the begining. but she made a couple of good points . unless you are a money-making streamer, i would say you should dedicate half of your free time to your girlfriend if possible. take her out for a walk, feed her, have sex with her, snuggle watching a movie or whatever. but the thing is, if you expect your boyfriend to dedicate most of their free time to you, you may be looking for a guy to date and distract you rather than a man to marry and live in harmony with. if you are more needy for attention and socialization than him, you may just not be right for each other. if you have hobbies, he can play games while you cook cakes, sew, watch a show or read a book.
It sounds like the common theme here isn't the hobby itself but letting the hobby become your entire life/personality. Also, I never thought about having no hobbies as a red flag, but yeah I can see it.
The party girl… with a kid or kids. One of the highest and brightest red flags out there. Never says no to an invite to a night out even after going out several nights in a row. Nothing but drama and unresolved trauma. They will suck all of your energy from your life force and emotionally unload on you. In some case even become physically abusive.
The first one is funny, because a girl I was dating tells me that one thing she hates about men is videogames. She said her last boyfriend played a lot of VGs, and barely paid any attention to her. Little did she know, that Gaming is my primary hobby. Not only am I gaming, I am also developing games. I never heard from her again. Now I just come out and tell women my hobbies. If they don't like em, good, at least I know it won't work out. Thus the reason I left the dating life. Too much "me,me,me", or "If your hobbies have nothing to do with me, its a red flag."
for the first one, the chick seems clingy, I have a few bros that come over Saturday nights for game night and most of them have to asking their wives for permission to have fun otherwise they throw tantrums, I would never want to deal with a woman like that especially a women that doesnt have hobbies or things she likes doing once or twice a week, people need breaks from one another
I mean, if you do nothing but game and don't have a job, yeah, that's concerning. If someone has a stressful job that deals with some of the worst shit humanity can push out, I wouldn't judge. Dude or dudet needs a break.
The hell is the first story’s problem that was just a straight up rant
I believe tha answer here is "Stop liking what i don't like!"
She knew she had an unpopular opinion and over compensated to defend herself before people could attack her. She also missed the point of the question. She's alright with gaming as a hobby but not ok with it as an addiction. Ya, ok but the question was hobby, not red flag addictions.
You can tell she is dealing from the pain of previously being neglected in favor of gaming.
She sounds like she wants people to drop what they’re doing for her even if she doesn’t want to get to meet them

Constantly being glued to Instagram (or at this point even just using it.) and thus comparing yourself to others.
(Though that's a whole branch of red flags in of itself.)
Generally just always caring way more about what others think, instead of what you actually think.
My brother's hobby is collecting nazi memorabilia. He actually wears it. He also scares me.
Now that is is actually a RED FLAG. Most of the ones in the video aren't even vaguely a flag.
Does he collect other historical militiary stuff?
My brother collect ancient Viking stuff and modern stuff
@stevendeen4391 no, he only collects nazi stuff. He snaps to attention and gives the nazi salute, saying hiel Hitler. He's about 70 years old and he's been doing this his whole life. Then he wonders why nobody will marry him. Like I said, he scares me.
Sounds like some of my distant cousins.
@chaylahskinner9390 the only flag redder then that is Communist russia
Hardly anyone had valid answers to the question. Half the answers were NPCs who couldn't handle being around anyone remotely interesting, and the other half were people who had the experience of being flagged as not mundane enough by an NPC.
the most valid response was when someone doesn't have hobbies at all
@@loganjoh1 True, they weren't all invalid, just the majority
The important thing at the end of the day is to not stop or change a hobby that you enjoy for the sake of a partner unless it harm otherS
Girls that have horses is a huge no no for me.
Also, someone not liking me playing videogames is an even bigger red flag. I work 70 hrs a week, I AM PLAYING MY GAMES 😂
What HOBBY Is An Instant RED FLAG? *Shopping.*
I've never met anyone who's hobby is shopping that wasn't in a huge amount of debt or constantly borrowing money from friends and family.
Story 1 sounds like a karen. Remember, before video games, there was golf/bowling/etc and/or going to the bar. Video games is the new "going golfing with the guys". The female equivalent would be "going tomthe mall" or shopping. These are outlets we take to escape reality.
Female hobby equivalent is Netflix and Hulu.
I feel like seeing a hobby as a red flag rather than their behaviour around the hobby is a red flag in and of itself
Picking locks. It's fun and occasionally useful, but it freaks people out
Guy enjoying himself? Oh that's a red flag
Warhammer fans. WE are terrible people. Except Ork players, they are a fun and chill different breed.
The first entry is a red flag. I wouldn’t date anyone who doesn’t let me play video games.
Let alone not let you have any hobbies at all
That first one blew my high so fast
Video games > relationships
wtf
inb4 “hurr durr guns bad, we should ban, thanks for gold and updoots kind strangers”
Nice! 👍
See I have the obsession with anime, but I have a golden rule of never bringing it up unless someone else does
Okay so I have multiple hobbies. I play games, restore old vintage tools, and do woodwork, ontop of having a full time job.
First one must REALLY hate fun.
I felt like the 2nd one was a response to the first one. That first one had no hobbies.
The first one says a lot more about OP than about the people she is ranting about.
I’m like 99% sure it was written by a woman, worth mentioning.
Only 99% sure? I don't think that it could have been any more obvious that it was written by a woman.
I don't think I've ever met a guy that has complained about a gamer girl lol
@@chaylahskinner9390
I wrote my comment before she straight up said things like “other girls” lmao.
Some of these stories make me mad because of the 'tism pov 😔
Special interests can be one hell of a trip, but doesnt necessarily makes someone a "weirdo"
Story three spent half its run quoting Terry Pratchett's novel the hogfather and didn't mention it and now my day is ruined.
I wondered how many other people spotted that. Reading Pratchett is a good part-time hobby, with a side benefit of some really well thought out philosophy
When it comes to the anime thing, if they're obsessed with shota/loli anime, THAT'S a massive red flag
Oh thats exactly it 😭
Anime is a whole medium so theres plenty of room for reasonable "obsessions", but loli/shota stuff is an instant NOPE
I think the most """acceptable""" (quotes cuz imho theres no harm in being really into anime in a non-hurtful way) weeb type is the ghibli fanatics iirc
Collecting sexy woman images is red flag, photography of children, images of kids collection is a red flag.
17:05 bro became the main protagonist, i wanna work with him 😂😂😂
The takeaway from this video. "If the person has a hobby that I'm not interested in or I am politically against. The hobby is a red flag."
The spider phobia is valid though.
Most of this video can be summarized with "letting hobbies become obsessions."
That said, there's fine line between obsession and special interest, which was kind of the vibe I got from the Disney one.
Ain't that the truth
What hobby has the most red flags? Soviet vexillology....
The first entry doesnt understand the bois.
A red flag for me is someone who doesn't like others playing video games lol. Swap out video games for literally any hobby in that story - how can you call it a hobby if you don't invest time into it? The person that wrote Srory 1 sounds like the same person they are describing in story 2 haha.
0:08 to 0:30 instant roasting of herself she needs to find something to do
What’s funny about the first story, is literally, all they would have to do is partake in the hobby with their partner. That’s it.
They also don’t seem to realize that people can be cognitively impaired, even if they’re “able-bodied”.
I play video games as my hobby Because when I get home from work all my friends in the states are finally on and we can actually talk.
She thought the fact i built model kits meant i was a man child, i was looking forward to showing her my master grade narrative gundam
8:35 now THIS is a Chad!
The horse girl thing is dead on. It seems the commenters is ranting but I grew up in a horse town in East Texas and all the horse girls did exactly that. I now live in a different state where horeses aren’t as common but the attitude is the exact same.
Yep dated a horse girl, the sterotypes unfortunately is true
What? Having room mates and also playing games is an issue? I lived in one of the most expensive areas in the world for years. Games were played.
Really any hobby when it becomes an obsession is a problem. If they cant find that work/play/relationship balance that will be a problem.
What if you work all day 6-7 days a week with no hobbies since you have no time or energy for hobbies
the first girl sounded stupid at the begining. but she made a couple of good points . unless you are a money-making streamer, i would say you should dedicate half of your free time to your girlfriend if possible. take her out for a walk, feed her, have sex with her, snuggle watching a movie or whatever. but the thing is, if you expect your boyfriend to dedicate most of their free time to you, you may be looking for a guy to date and distract you rather than a man to marry and live in harmony with. if you are more needy for attention and socialization than him, you may just not be right for each other. if you have hobbies, he can play games while you cook cakes, sew, watch a show or read a book.
“Playing one tournament a week is fine.” lol.
The first one is the definition of a red flag
I have a huge Madonna collection and run a fan club for her for over 30 years so that might scare some lol
love that we all agree first comment is a red flag. Also probably spends more hours doomscrolling than a gamer does playing.
People who.use reddit is a red flag
Long-winded rant ends here: 2:18
Wait so she's fine with extreme sports but cars and motorcycles is a no no? What😂?
Too much "me,me,me", or "If your hobbies have nothing to do with me, its a red flag."
for the first one, the chick seems clingy, I have a few bros that come over Saturday nights for game night and most of them have to asking their wives for permission to have fun otherwise they throw tantrums, I would never want to deal with a woman like that especially a women that doesnt have hobbies or things she likes doing once or twice a week, people need breaks from one another
First one is wild
GFC what is wrong with the woman in the first story she's a massive red flag to complain that much about a hypothetical situation.
I mean, if you do nothing but game and don't have a job, yeah, that's concerning.
If someone has a stressful job that deals with some of the worst shit humanity can push out, I wouldn't judge. Dude or dudet needs a break.
