I had the 80 tribute box sets but when I swatched those out, I hadn't noticed how soft and creamy they were until getting the larger set. I would love the 300 set but it's just very expensive and I'm not as comfortable with the sites that sell it. I also read that with that big set, they charge a lot for shipping because it's so heavy. But I do like these and am thankful you did a review.
@vishneva2000 Thank you 😊 I personally have not had issues with purchases from the site and I do have a friend who has purchased the large set from there and let me know it was packaged beautifully they also don't charge extra for shipping with a high dollar purchase
@@MyColouringCornerwithRene Thank you. I've purchased from Temu with no problems. They've actually improved their customer service. But I've never tried AliExpress. It's good to know you and your friend have not had issues there.
These are a higher brand then the Brutfuner squares and are quite a bit creamier and higher pigmented. The Brutfuner squares are a fantastic budget pencil the Marco are a higher grade.
Yes I have Prismacolour pencils however there are several different types of Prismacolour. Prismacolour as the brand is very different in comparison to the Marco pencils, there are different levels for each brand these are the Cadillac of the Marco brand the highest of Prismacolour is the Premier pencils. They are very different, Premier are a soft wax based pencil where the Tribute is a oil based pencil they are a layering pencil where the Premier are a smooshing pencil. I personally dont like comparing brands of pencils because the composition and pigments for each brand are unique to that brand even if the colour is close to the same the type of wax , oil and pigment relies on the location and budget of each factory.
I am not sure I have the 80 and the 150 but I will be putting my chart on Kofi and you might be able to find a colour list on one of the sites like AliExpress or Pinterest ...
I recently purchased Marco Renoir 120 set in June and have been looking at the Tributes. I need to know how they compare to Marco Renoir , also are they closer to polychromos or prisma. I prefer harder pencils like Polychromos and even love Crayola 🤣 thanks. A comparison video with other brands would be helpful I think to everyone. I also have the Brutfuner black barrel 180 and Castle Art Golds I am curious also of comparison, but mostly the Marco Renoirs. Thanks Why didn't you just reprint your swatch sheet, I am so confused. and you did not explain difference. It looked as soon as you started that the paper was slick/smooth but I had to remind myself I would not see texture on video. Then you started to.mention your printing issues which I only followed up to the actual printing and what went wrong, and wondered why did you not just do it correctly a second time? And what difference does it make for the swatching? how did it affect the swatching?
I had already coloured the swatch chart and when I sent it through to add the test sheet print to the back it printed on the front of the sheet I will have to do it again but am waiting till the ink comes for my art printer the other printer doesn't like to print on card stock and curls the page the only way I got it to lay flat to do the testing was to glue the two pages togeather So it didn't effect the swatching at all because it was done before the printer problems.
@amethystte2749 I have both of the Renoir and the Tribute sets and they do match in colours the higher grade of the Tribute coloured pencils does show with a heavier thicker pencil the Renoir are a bit firmer than the Tribute set....I don't like to compare brands because every brand has their own qualities and the different brands use different pigments and wax/oil mixtures. I will compare two sets from the same brand, but I think every brand has its own qualities and flaws that I do try to point out in my reviews
