32 escalators and 16 elevators in this one, as lines 14 and 15 are respectively about 40 and 50 meters underground. Though, the one with the most escalators on this line is Saint-Denis Pleyel terminus station, with 56 of them in the main station building. But that's normal as it will become a major hub for lines 14, 15, 16, 17, RER D, and Transilien H.
Happy 50th! That's a landmark of your dedication to bringing quality urban news. Regenerative braking is great as the more a line is used, the more it makes a difference. That's like running 5 trains for the energy cost of 4.
Yep, the renovation of pl. Wolności looks great, compared to the mess that was before, much nicer. Still, I think that they should have added much more greenery there, though.
There's a lot of greenery at the square but I still kind of feel like the big concrete area in the middle is a little too much, like they could put some more greenery in there. Idk, what do you think? Also it's kind of sad that we lost one of the two tram roundabouts in Łódź.
I also thought that there could have been more greenery, although I guess there is also a plan for street concerts or some other outdoor events that require a hard surface. Regarding the tram ring, I suppose the logic was to increase the area for people by taking it away from the transport.
Yeah. Hopefully, the return of train service will usher in a change in people's travel patterns. Puerto Varas is really walkable, and so is Llanquihue. The only problem lies with La Paloma station, which leaves passengers stranded on the outskirts of Puerto Montt.
Hey can I crowdsource ideas for a transport planning assignment I have? It's very open ended and essentially involves me analyzing and proposing enhancements to a public transport system (local-regional scale) of my choice. This could be as small as adjusting the frequency of busses or as big as the construction of a new railway etc. A lot of my ideas have turned out to be already in implementation, so far the best I've got is the restoration of the Rimini - San Marino railway which I know they are doing feasibility studies on. If anyone has other ideas based in a city or region in western/central Europe that I can access please comment. Thanks.
Hm I'd look into verkehrsverbünde and the concept of "public mobility", I.e. integrating all forms of mobility, including last mile solutions, in the ticketing system & app
Probably no shortage of improvements to London urban rail network, from new north-south tube lines or crossrail, to extensions to current lines including overground and suburban rail. Also Lisbon metro and suburban rail need extensions, as well as new light rail lines. A lot has been suggested but little is being done with the metro. A new rail bridge crossing the river is in study phase and will be built in order to serve the new airport and the high speed line to Madrid, but the railway alignments on the south of the river aren't fully known. The National Railway Plan that was elaborated by the previous government but shelved by the current one without being approved, had a few proposals to turn the current suburban network of radial lines into a few diametrical lines becoming something more like a s-bahn/rer/crossrail with a main core where the frequency is like a metro. Light rail lines are badly needed in many areas of the metropolitan area, specially as feeders and connectors between suburban rail lines.
A similar case to what you already said about San Marino is Andorra. On peak tourism season the entrance road from La Seu d'Urgell (the main entrance to the country from Catalonia) gets absolutely packed with cars. Now they are looking to implement a Train-tram system or something similar, and a tram is being studied by the government currently. There's an association to promote the tram, it's called Andrail (Andorra+Rail) if I recall correctly.
@@cityforall it's something like autonomous cars but on rails (but most of them are using rubber wheels), carrying no more than 6 passenger per vehicle. Here are some of the 'benefits' in my opinion: - PRT passengers travel directly to their destination, anywhere between any stops, without stopping at the intermediate stations. - stations that can be built along the tunnel route because stations can be as small as two parking spaces. - stations can easily be integrated in busy city centers, parking garages, and residential communities.
How many escalators does the Paris metro station want to have?

it's always a problem with major deep stations
That Paris Metro station looks completely insane, I love it
This is the most underrated chanel i know.
@UncleSamFreedom maybe the voice is too boring? xD
Well its a lot bettet than all the AI Voiceover channels..@@cityforall
@@cityforall I think your voices matches your content so well. Its calm, professional but not overly serious

This is some great information. Love it. That Paris Metro Station is out of this world, amazing.
Congrats on the 50th episode! I've been watching for a while, and I'm always to see these updates in urbanism and public transit around the world.

Thanks 😊
Congrats on 50 episodes!
great video as always
The new station in Paris has to be one of the most magnificent public transport stations in the world. ❤🔥
Nice update.
I love Cal Train
Slowly, Chile is recovering bit by bit its rail network!
Yesterday reopened the trieste-opicina tramline after being stopped for almost 16 years due to a car crash!
thank you for your work!
I love Poland ❤
Why?
(please someone continue the song)
@UncleSamFreedom I love Poland (I don't believe ya)

Pretty sure the Villejuif Gustave Roussy station isnt in Paris but in Villejuif
4:36 beautiful place, but a car centric hell to drive around

Was that Australia at the end of the right before San Francisco came up?
Is it jealousy?

hi can you please make videos about personal rapid transit? i would like to know your opinion about this

@@cityforallThe billionaires' and techbros' favorites : pods, self driving micro busses, etc.
The opposite of "mass" transit.
