NewJeans has said that "Ditto" is a song for their fans and continues the 90's nostalgia vibe. Here is my theory (similar to others as well). In the MV, "Heesoo" is a loner, kind of an outcast. Listening to Kpop, being a fan of NewJeans is her way of coping. She considers NewJeans as the friends she wanted to have. She imagines them as part of her reality. However, at some point, she moves from this stage in her life as she develops a relationship with the guy IRL. She then lets go of NewJeans and puts her memories of them away in a box. Years later, she opens the box and watches the video --- she remembers the time that she was a fan with fondness. The MV evokes a feeling of nostalgia -- how when we grow up, we look back at the group we liked and remember how they were a part of our life at one time.
Yes. ❤️ My interpretation is more or less like this. I was also a "Heesoo" once when I was in junior high. Ditto is probably the most relatable K-Pop MV for me by far. Their creative team is phenomenal.
This song is bittersweet. As a kpop fan we all at some point feel like we closely know the idols and that they are the friends we can run to in the toughest times. (A blanket) In reality we are fans, who need to realize that we are our own personalities and humans that we need to love and take care of first. This song emplies that it's okay to take a break and work on yourself, you aren't dissapointing them or hurting them in any way. At the end of the day they will be there for you, and be the same as they were before. My Take: I believe that loving kpop idols, and the music is amazing but there comes a line that you don't need to cross. That is loosing yourself and becoming so involved to the point where you want to be like them 24\7 or hide behind your reality of what is truly going on in your life. They are called Idols for a reason they are people we want to root for, build connections with, and sometimes be like them. So to sum it up we sometimes need a break, or put it all up together in order to look back of these fond memories of watching them preform. There will come a day when we have to say goodbye and focus on ourselves, but you can always be a fan and support. I love NJ and what they are doing is unheard of. I believe they are talented young individuals who can finally shake the bad narratives of kpop and adress the bad "obbsesion" over it NJ KEEP FIGHTING❤🐇
I saw another person’s reaction to ditto and someone commented their own theory that i believe makes the most sense so ill try to explain it here 😅 this is from Susy Franco i think on LKTV’s reaction btw and Susy Franco if you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR THEORY !! 🥰🥰 EDIT: OKAY I ENDED UP COPYING AND PASTING CUZ I SUCK AT SUMMARIES BUT HERE IT IS 😭😭 EDIT 2: hey yall so um ik this isn’t a big deal but if you see someone with the same comment word for word it isnt me and i don’t have any another acc besides this one 🫤 namely “Sumysim” on FO Squad Kpop’s reaction to ditto, so if you see this Sumysim, which i know you’ve seen my comment, please don’t copy other people’s comments and use you’re own words next time and give credit 😑 also no hate to FO Squad btw i love them sm ❤ “I have a theory, the camera girl went in a deep depression till the point she’s still in denial and kept lying to herself, which led to her to completely lose her sense of reality cuz she lost her friends (New Jeans) in an accident, that’s why she has the arm cast. Everybody is kinda concerned about her, but they don’t want to take proper action cuz, as I know, Koreans don’t like to interfere in other people’s problems and the only person who really wants to reach out to her is the guy, that maybe has liked her even before the accident so that’s why he keeps looking for her in a way from afar. And the new video tapes she first saw in the Side A MV kept showing her the *reality* she’s in, so that’s why she threw the camera in the Side B MV where everything started to make sense. AND the last video she saw was the original one where her friends (New Jeans) DID appear and is stored in a box cuz it’s a part of her treasured memories and now she can see it with nostalgia cuz she came to accept her loss and is capable to move on, that’s why she is seen walking with the guy at the end as he maybe helped her getting through all of the grief and denial. The deer can represent two things a non-confrontational personality (side A) that happens to be her looking at herself in the white scenario or could be an observational, empathetic, and sympathetic side of someone who could represent the guy (Side B) that's why it appeared in the school where he is always watching her with concern. IT'S JUST A THEORY, I'M JUST TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE FEELINGS THESE VIDEOS MADE ME FEEL 😭”
I also want to add that imo this fits the most because of the one scene in Side B MV, Heesoo is crying and the girls are trying to comfort her and she catches the guy looking at her. She then runs away but the girl’s dont run after her but instead sit there more confused. At first i thought it had something to do with the guy but i realised that the girl was crying because she realised they werent there anymore and they’re confusion tells me that in a way, they dont know themselves. That’s just how i see it but perspectives can differ 🤷🏽♀️ But anyways, i feel like the two MV’s showed a different kinda love compared to the Hype Boy MV’s. This one seemed to be a more bittersweet love, where the girl found someone to love in the end but through a tragic experience. ❤
Actually I say another theory under the B side MV which makes more sense to me. (At least now cause we’re not sure about the real meaning of the MV) The theory is from @NJeansFim "This video represents perfectly the relationship between the audience and the idol. The audience is always there to watch the idol. Using them to feel love, joy, empathy, connecting with them through their own similarities they feel they have with their idol. This can sometimes be one sided. The idol is often there in "spirit", but not always there in reality. Side A and Side B represent the 2 scenarios one can do with that cold truth. One can realize that even if not together physically, both the idol and audience can still accompany and love the each other in a relationship that is understood mutually. Also, one can find that truth too cold and replace that "unphysical" love and "focus your lens" (the camera representing what you focus on) on a love thats more "real" like the girl does with guy she likes. However, in both scenarios, the "idol" (newjeans) will still be there no matter how long with open arms awaiting the next time they meet again (the deer)". And I think it makes sense because when Ditto’s teaser dropped people explained that the girl called Heeseo in the MV is representing us (bunnies).
One popular theory is that the whole video is a coming-of-age story. To be specific, it's about a relationship between a k-pop group and their fans. The protagonist symbolizes the fans. Her name is "Ban Heesoo" which is a play of words of "Bunnies" (the name of NewJeans fandom.) NewJeans used to be a big part of her life. Actually, she was addicted to them to the point where her classmates thought she's weird. However, as she grew older, she found "more important" things in life. (Scenes such as choosing the boy over NewJeans, ignoring phone calls from Minji etc. I believe the deer represents NewJeans.) NewJeans became one of her childhood memories and all those memories are inside a small dusty box. Revisiting the past brings back the joy of the good times.
@@PeWoO0h The whole concept is: Because the pain I feel in this loneliness is so real, so I also want to believe that you who peeped through the camera and accompanied me are also real. (This is a song for lonely people💕
Because it was indeed kind of a horror movie 🤣. Anyway, in the story the girls were dead. Someone said that they and the girl filming were in an accident, and film girl was the only one who survived hence the cast. In reality, she was filming no one which is why she was getting strange looks. Either she imagined them or they were ghosts who were worried about her coz they write a heart and 'don't die' on her cast. She painted Minji's (?) nails too but when she woke up, it was her nail that was painted and her cast was clean. The guy was a love interest who helps her move on. In the end, she watches a tape that was actually a part of her reality coz it was filmed before the girls died. People says the deer has some spiritual significance or is related on the passing if a loved one. I guess she rewatched the tape in the end coz she believes they're still with her even tho she moved on. This was what I've gathered from other comments.
there is also a theory on how all 6 of them were friends and they all got into an accident, and Heeseo was the sole survivor and she's remincising things if you see in Side B
Heesoo's presence is a fan, and he liked NewsGins. When it rains (when it's hard), fans get rained on together, comfort fans when they're arm and limb, and they're precious to each other when they're young, but the man behind shows a fan facing reality. Then throw away the video and leave (man = reality) I grew up... ...and then I grew older and took out the video again and realized it was a precious moment.
I also feel it's hauntingly beautiful, but music wise it's so good as well.. Really Hybe never go w the trend.. They make their own trend.. Let's continue supporting the babies.. 😌
I have a feeling NewJeans are going to be trailblazers. Their image is obviously so deliberately constructed to be the relatable but swaggy girl group who bring the nostalgia factor but there is a genuine authenticity to the members that it just works perfectly. As an older Kpop fan I really get sweet little sister vibes and feel sort of protective of them, but if they had been around when I was a teenage girl I would have been completely obsessed with them. They are very talented and the creative team behind them are genius. Their music is too good!
The camcorder girl's name: Ban Hee Soo = Bunnies(new jeans' fandom name) The act of filming new jeans with camcorder: fangirling/fanboying the idol(that's why other people can't see them) The boy: real life/reality Breaking the camcorder and walking away from new jeans in the rain: forget about once-favorite idol and live in reality The girl grew up, then open the memory box and reminisce about the past(new jeans coming into the room): I don't know if it was a shameful act to be a fan once, but when I grew up, it wasn't in vain, but it remained a good memory( or When fans looked it up again, new jeans is still there) you know, fangirling celebrities can be vain, empty since you can't really meet them or get to know them in reality. so when you face the reality, it may feel useless. And yet, New Jeans are aware of that, and they hope that the fans would keep the happy memories (while fangirling new jeans) real even if time passes( Or New Jeans are telling the fans like "I'll stay the same until then, so come back anytime")
for anyone who doesn't understand the meaning of these two mvs: the 6th person is us, their fans. Everyday we watch their stuff, like mvs, vlives, listen to their songs or laugh over funny content of them. even tho we will never meet them, we're always with them and we're always supporting them. in side a, it shows the perspective of normal people. they don't know how NewJeans or kpop in general could change our lives. this mv is directed to us. whenever we're emotional, NewJeans is always there for us. kpop changes our life. BUT I also read a lot, that a theory could be, that we were friends with NewJeans but we got into an accident (that's why our arm is hurt) and we're the only ones who made it out alive. everytime we go back to school, we imagine them and we remember precious memories with them. while we're in this sort of trauma, we fall in love with a boy (or he falls in love with us, idrk) and he saved us from ending our own life. the deer is supposed to be some sort of after life thing, i don't really understand lmao
i hear the pink patherress too! and the tune hummed at the end and beginning gives me chills. newjeans is bring something to new to kpop !!!!!! their discography in a few years of time will be insane, the songs are all so catchy. i also love the eerie vibe they’re going for
ouh my theory was that They were her friends and got in an accident involving the dear and she recorded places that they used to hang out at when they were still there but she only survived the accident and then on the B side how they showed the dear at the end of the hall and then her and the boy walking and then the dear walked away thats like a synbolization of the girls like “you finally moved on” etc. she was lonely knowing that her friends died thats why she cried and only the guy could see her crying on that bench and everytime the dear popped up it said “woo woo woo ooh” meaning there had to been an accident with the dear. She did have a cast on too. Aswell as how you see in A side how they walked in the rain together and then in B side she, walked alone in the rain while holding her umbrella to her side bc thats what they used to do all together
New Jeans means 'Kpop idols' for that lonely girl (her refuge). So they are imaginary ones- as she grows, she likes a boy and also she leaves the group with age. And she overcame her loneliness and became an adult. The final scene of B means the girl became a woman and recalls the new jeans.
I found an cute and sad theory on the m/v in the comments. I think there were some like it, but i like the this was worded. "The MV is very visual centered, but when you look at it from a deeper perspective, it's actually really meaningful and almost sad. The MV shows this 6th person following NewJeans and their activities, they watch them dance, watch them talk to other people, and overall be lively and a great friend, to most of us, our Idols are like imaginary friends we sometimes like to confide in when life gets tough, and the MV shows us that. To everyone else, they see nothing, pure blank, but to us, we see NewJeans, and we hear their songs, and we see their dances, and sometimes we apply these things to our daily life. K-Pop is not just Music, it's a way to connect people, and this is why NewJeans will always be my favorite group, because they understand this. "
I love how Seb was confused at Side B's end and then you had me crying, because it made me think of the first time I got into kpop 10 years ago... Damn..
broo that "do you want somebody like I want somebody" had me thinking about Tink's "I just want somebody to treat me like somebody" hahah not sure if that's what you were thinking of also 👀
I interpreted it like « do you want to be loved like I want to be loved » not necessarily in a romantic way but like to connect with someone you cherish and be cherished, no being alone or misunderstood.
The whole concept is: Because the pain I feel in this loneliness is so real, so I also want to believe that you who peeped through the camera and accompanied me are also real. (This is a song for lonely people💕
I feel like the two MV’s + the lyrics showed a different kinda love compared to the Hype Boy MV’s. This one seemed to be a more bittersweet love, where the girl found someone to love in the end but through a tragic experience. It’s kinda like a healing kinda love ifyk what i mean 😞💔
NewJeans bringing so many refreshing songs. It's very different. Their just in a whole different category. It's like the Black Pink thing where they just stuck out from the rest.
i didn't love their debut so i never listened to their other songs after but i'm so glad i randomly thought about listening to this at 3am when i can't sleep. i love their voices in this so much and the song is catchy as hell. also the mv is everything too. this song will be on repeat for sure
We don't really know what the video is meant to say, but I kinda get that the lore is really sad... but I'm excited to start reading theories and maybe find out the true story it tells! also NewJeans is such a good and refreshing group. I hope they continue to do this kind of music cause they'll be unique for it. (the mv kinda reminds me of the movie "20th century girl")
Nah cus this shit looked was traumatic 😭😭 the entire concept was so wholesome yet haunting and the fact that they got the dude from 25-21 in this was>>>> Perfect first comeback 🐰👑

Not sure if it’s the same for you, but the reference you’re talking about reminds me of “Are you that Somebody” by Aaliyah :) “tell me you’re that somebody, cause I really need somebody” I love this song sm already, New Jeans has such a refreshing vibe. 💕💜
They were her friends and got in an accident involving the dear and she recorded places that they used to hang out at when they were still there but she only survived the accident and then on the B side how they showed the dear at the end of the hall and then her and the boy walking and then the dear walked away thats like a synbolization of the girls like “you finally moved on” etc. she was lonely knowing that her friends died thats why she cried and only the guy could see her crying on that bench and everytime the dear popped up it said “woo woo woo ooh” meaning there had to been an accident with the dear. She did have a cast on too. Aswell as how you see in A side how they walked in the rain together and then in B side she, walked alone in the rain while holding her umbrella to her side bc thats what they used to do all together. Also she destroyed the camera to not rely on those memories bc she wouldnt be able to move on, so she destroyed the camera
I see how people can relate to this from a parasocial perspective cause I relate to this as a fan of many K-pop groups. But someone's explanation of New Jeans members being Heesoo's actual friends in the past and maybe dying cause of a tragic accident makes perfect sense. It's that haunting feeling and sound of nostalgia that seems more personal to me as the protagonist is looking back on something that actually happened and is still in denial of how it all ended. This song makes me feel the opposite in comparison to my feelings after watching the music video. It's incredible how they have so much impact on the audience already.
I’m sure you have heard all the comments explaining the music videos to you but I want to add something that I noticed and I think is a really cool detail. So the girl who was recording the 5 girls (aka newjeans) she was in a navy uniform and the 5 girls were in brown uniforms which don’t match the rest of the schools uniforms which are all navy blue. But also in one of the scenes you can see the camera girl painting one of those girls in the brown uniforms nails pink (just the pinky tho) and as we figured out her friends are a delusion which is why they are different uniforms and such but in SIDE A when she gets up from the couch all alone without her friends in sight, her pinky is painted pink so that means she painted her own fingernail while thinking she was painting her friends fingernail and that goes with all the activities, she thinks she’s doing all this stuff with her friends but all people see is her being alone filming her friends and doing stuff with “nobody”. I just thought that was a cool detail with the fingernail
not sure if this is what you were thinking, but the "do you want somebody like i want somebody" lyric immediately took me back to aaliyah's "are you that somebody".
It was kind of eerie no? Like it was nostalgic and calming, yet it was creepy and slightly suspenseful. According to comments, the guy is a famous kdrama actor, and the "6th member" represents the fandom, or kpop fandoms in general, who happens to be the protagonist in the hit Netflix show "All Of Us Are Dead". Aside from that having 2 sides is quite creative, especially with the 2nd being the other girls' POV from the camera. Some theories are all over the place, some believe they were representing the outside media looking into kpop community and holding prejudice and judgement, others believe its exactly what it looks like: Which is the girls died, or passed away, explaining the injury from the girl who survived and she's trying to move post the loss with her guy friend. Due to her mental health she was seeing hallucinations and being nostalgic. You fill in the blanks, its all makes sense now but overall, very different, but refreshing once again
He's enjoying the song so much he's not paying attention to the nuances of the MV lololol I get it tho. But found it cute 😂 "Who let that deer inside" lmaoo. You're missing the point. It's symbolic. Hahahahha
If you like PinkPatheress, theres a Korean female soloist who made her debut in August with the single ‘Signs’ that I HIGHLY recommend checking out named iiso. She just made her comeback with her first EP ‘COMI’ on November 23rd! She participates in writing and production on all of her songs as well. I promise you’ll love her! She’s also worked with OnlyOneOf’s KB in terms of writing lyrics.
You can think of the 6th member as a fan of Bernice I'll write 6th easily Music video a is a scene where you become a fan of NU'EST JIN B seemed to be in the process of trying to quit being a fan for real life or other reasons If you look at M/V A, the 6th member follows idols and tries to keep memories while holding a camcorder to the classroom, snack bar, and rooftop The reason why I don't see news to others seems to mean the reality that artist mania seems strange (guessing) And the scene of getting rained on means hardship or hardship, but instead of using an umbrella, the fan chose to get rained on with Newszins If you look at the contents of the camcorder, it contains who likes what and what the members like For example, in the video camera, the 6th member calls Hae-rin Kang-kitty, reading Hae-rin, and Hani who buys bread from the snack bar, fans know the members through contents like Jacon I don't think it's meaningful, but if you talk about the location, the rooftop is like a concert, the gym is like a fan signing, and the club room is like a commu app that communicates with fans Here, while filming the New Jins stage in the gym, Nam-joo passes by, and the scene of drinking water = Looking at Nam-joo once during the break, and after that, Nam-joo continued to be in my eyes At this time, the sixth is a woman, but I think the male character means the opposite sex because of the male character The sixth bandage means pain and ordeal, and NewsGins shares and comforts the pain by leaving graffiti and manicure hearts on the bandage = Sharing of fans and artists At the end, everyone lies on the sofa and is left alone. Did you put a lot of effort into being a fan, beating the priorities of your current life? Isn't that nothing I've ever recorded? a real blow to Deer is really difficult, but I think it's a third-party agency, and I think it's shaped like a spirit or a god to receive comfort from the sixth heart I'm not sure about the last blackboard, but since I erased only half of it, I think I'm sending a message saying, "Please stay even half of your mind to remember New Gins." If you look at the music video B, The sixth person surrounded by the news gins finds Nam-joo (Lee Seong, Hyun-saeng) and runs away (negative), and the news gins is puzzled to see the sixth person (don't know the situation of the fans) After that, the 6th member started filming Nam Joo with a camcorder It means that your heart moves from New Jin to Nam Joo I watch News Jinx performing a stage (concert) under the street lamp at night, but I don't record it Dropping the camcorder on the roof seems to mean you're open to NewsGins In contrast to the music video a in the rain, he uses an umbrella alone, and Minji's phone call (New Jinx is looking for fans), but he doesn't answer the 6th one The sixth eventually chose Nam Joo (this may be reason, or it may mean focusing on the present life behind being a fan) a deer story In music video a, if the sixth found a deer, in music video b, you can see that the deer came to the classroom (which means that if the mind was outside, now it's inside) After that, the sixth child who became an adult took out his kept DVD (there is also a rabbit doll) and recalled his school days (remembering his fan life) The creepy scene was that I was left alone on the empty sofa with a DVD, but when News Jin opened the door and came in, it was a teddy bear? I don't know about this "Isn't this cute?") lyrics It's different if you read and listen to the lyrics Stay in the middle Like you a little Don’t want no riddle Tell me, say it back .... I grew up a lot Like the memories we had together My heart that looks at you already passed summer and autumn I've been waiting for you, all the time I don't know what the song is about, but let's talk about it Live your life, but don't forget us the same At the last school, even the deer didn't stand still, but just checking out the sixth and passing by, I think it means "Thank God, I'm relieved" when I see the fan
Seeing these theories are crazy but I seen a theory that 'Heesoo' and new jeans were in a car crash which killed them and only she survived *explaining the cast* and that her coping way believed that they were still alive which is why she was recording
Hee-soo means Bunnies, the fandom of New Jeans, and most fans can only get in touch with the singer through media (ex. the camcorder that Hee-soo keeps carrying in the music video), as shown in the video. Fans and singers are always difficult to be together in reality, but singers are always there, and sometimes people look at fans who follow singers in a strange way. I think it is. Haha Fans and singers who have always been together like that, as time goes by, the fans start to focus on other things in reality, and the distance in their hearts (I think this is expressed as a deer in the middle) will become farther away, and later on, the fans This situation of leaving will eventually come, but looking back over time, it seems to mean that during school days, the ones we were always with were our favorite idols at the time, and those idols were always in place.
There are a lot of secrets in the MV, but I think in side A she didn't move on, so we saw her at the end depicting the emptiness and absence of the girls, while in side B, she was able to move on with the help of her lover.
Idk why it’s so funny to me how people are saying their theories in the comments like it’s fact😂 I’m exited to see if the girls ever actually explain the meaning
Oh oh... Already done watching the whole Mvs a few time and now watching reaction.. I finally realized!!! That, In everything, when the main character was going into something.. Almost no one care? Or just ignore but also giving a condescending look at her.. And only this guy seem to care.. So I guess, she just need even just 1 person to care so she can get over seeing imaginary comfort,.
10:12 this can be a stretch but maybe a reference/spin to aaliyah’s joint “are you that somebody” bcs when i also heard that line, my mind initially went to lil wayne’s lyric when he did the same thing lol just some classic hip hop/music culture element; my infp-lyricist ass love that typa shit so much too lmao
So basically there are 3 theories: 1. The girl heeso is making imaginary friends, because of loneliness and at the end decided to accept her loneliness and let go of the imaginary friends, she choose to do things in reality that is to be with the boy 2. The girl heeso had an car accident with her friends, the friends did not survive only her can survive with the result her hand is broken, she is in a grief and denial, because she still do things she usually do with her friends in the past, but then she realize and accept with the help of the boy 3. The girl heeso is the bunnies/ fans of new jeans, it's projecting the relationship between fans and idols, it's through a screen and camera, but the feeling is real, the fans addicted to them and follow them everywhere and the idol is friendly to the fans too. it's a mutual relationship. But the fans at one point will choose the real life, and look back with nostalgia at the time where they feel like their favorite group is their everything, the new jeans will always be there if the fans want too see them again.
Are you thinking of Aaliyah for the reference? (Cause I really need somebody, tell me you're that somebody?) Also, the "congratulations, now you gotta feed it forever" was so not expected 🤣
A. The girl is into an idol called New Jeans. Carrying a camcorder and taking pictures of New Jeans. But in the middle, the existence of a male student starts to come into the eyes. Still, I have New Jeans. I'm happy when I'm taking pictures of dazzling girls. If I'm with them... I'm sure they'll need at least a friend like me who shoots for them... It's raining (ordeal)...I have an umbrella, but I choose to get in the rain with them. They scribble on the cast on my injured arm. I fall asleep with them. When I woke up, New Jeans was gone. I am left alone and the cast is clean. I have a manicure but... I shoot a camcorder, but there is no New Jeans. My friends look at me strangely like this. (I am addicted to idols) I have an umbrella, but I will get in the rain with them. We will overcome the ordeal together until the end. Minji erased the girl's legs. (The girl doesn't go anywhere) B. I shoot them again today, but as expected, my friends look at me strangely. I share my sadness on the bench with New Jeans (I guess the male student caught my eye) When the male student looks at him, he spurns the spot and leaves. New Jeans looks at male students I take a picture of a male student with a camcorder. New Jeans seem to get along just fine without me or without me Maybe I'm not needed by them... I feel empty and lonely. There are no graffiti on my cast... I feel betrayed. As I go up to the rooftop, I think of the memories I had with them. I dropped my camcorder and it broke. I made up my mind. Saying that I will not go through the ordeal with the New Jeans, I take out an umbrella and go alone. Minji receives a poning, but I do not receive it. I fell in love with a male student. (Like growing pains) I became an adult and found a video in my memory box Let's see the camcorder videos I took They weren't looking at the camcorder, they were looking into my eyes. I feel my time was not wasted. When I brought out the memories, they returned to me as if nothing had happened.
The whole fangirling theory doesn't make any sense to me; in my opinion, the girl got into an accident with a deer and her friends were involved in Side A she's dealing with survivors guilt and trying to enjoy the memories again and in Side B she moves on continue.
idk if there’s a official storyline but aside from the “imaginary friend” type thing, i thought that hanni also likes the guy and the girl won the guy over at the cost of their friendship. from there it just got worse idk 😵💫
i was looking at the comments and my theory was so off from what everyone thinks HELP. but my theory is that the girl filming them was a friend of theirs and the girls were in a car accident and the one filming was the only survivor (since she was a cast all she got was a broken arm) and she's watching the home movies to remember her friends
hmm wasnt a fan of the song, there was some parts i liked and parts i didnt like. i especially disliked the "ratatata" part.. wasnt a fan of the chorus as much. only part that stood out was in the prechorus "I got no timе to lose" this line specifically, idk who sings that line but i loved their voice
before and after. It's haunting her, they should be 6, but unfortunately some accident happened, yet 1 survived and that's her, the girl whos filming. The deer represent NewJeans. On side B, she tried to move on, with the guy who saw her. She dispose the camera, yet kept the memories in film to be in remembrance before they're dead.
Exactly
Yes. ❤️ My interpretation is more or less like this. I was also a "Heesoo" once when I was in junior high. Ditto is probably the most relatable K-Pop MV for me by far. Their creative team is phenomenal.
Yes. I also think that is what mv told.
I believe they are talented young individuals who can finally shake the bad narratives of kpop and adress the bad "obbsesion" over it
NJ KEEP FIGHTING❤🐇

“I have a theory, the camera girl went in a deep depression till the point she’s still in denial and kept lying to herself, which led to her to completely lose her sense of reality cuz she lost her friends (New Jeans) in an accident, that’s why she has the arm cast.
Omg, hi 👀✨️
Bring y'all theories too. This is so fun hahaha 🔥
Actually maybe the accident happened because of a deer. In the drama Beyond Evil, one character kept seeing deers because of an accident so…
It cant make more sense than this
Actually I say another theory under the B side MV which makes more sense to me. (At least now cause we’re not sure about the real meaning of the MV) The theory is from @NJeansFim
"This video represents perfectly the relationship between the audience and the idol. The audience is always there to watch the idol. Using them to feel love, joy, empathy,
connecting with them through their own similarities they feel they have with their idol.
However, in both scenarios, the "idol" (newjeans) will still be there no matter how long with open arms
awaiting the next time they meet again (the deer)".
Her name is "Ban Heesoo" which is a play of words of "Bunnies" (the name of NewJeans fandom.)
NewJeans used to be a big part of her life. Actually, she was addicted to them to the point where her classmates thought she's weird.
However, as she grew older, she found "more important" things in life. (Scenes such as choosing the boy over NewJeans, ignoring phone calls from Minji etc. I believe the deer represents NewJeans.)
NewJeans became one of her childhood memories and all those memories are inside a small dusty box.
Revisiting the past brings back the joy of the good times.
ban heesoo is so smart..
Their voice slayed and love their concept
Actually what is the concept? There are so many different sayings… :(
@@PeWoO0h I was actually thinking maybe Y2k concept😁
@@PeWoO0h The whole concept is:
Because the pain I feel in this loneliness is so real, so I also want to believe that you who peeped through the camera and accompanied me are also real.
I wanna know the meaning behind the "deer"?? Like does he represent something??
@@emmaely I heard somewhere in twitter that the deer passing by means u r stuck in past , you should move on. Something like that I ain't sure tho

Heesoo's presence is a fan, and he liked NewsGins. When it rains (when it's hard), fans get rained on together, comfort fans when they're arm and limb, and they're precious to each other when they're young, but the man behind shows a fan facing reality. Then throw away the video and leave (man = reality)

The camcorder girl's name: Ban Hee Soo = Bunnies(new jeans' fandom name)
The act of filming new jeans with camcorder: fangirling/fanboying the idol(that's why other people can't see them)
The boy: real life/reality
Breaking the camcorder and walking away from new jeans in the rain: forget about once-favorite idol and live in reality
The girl grew up, then open the memory box and reminisce about the past(new jeans coming into the room): I don't know if it was a shameful act to be a fan once, but when I grew up, it wasn't in vain, but it remained a good memory( or When fans looked it up again, new jeans is still there)
you know, fangirling celebrities can be vain, empty since you can't really meet them or get to know them in reality. so when you face the reality, it may feel useless. And yet, New Jeans are aware of that, and they hope that the fans would keep the happy memories (while fangirling new jeans) real even if time passes( Or New Jeans are telling the fans like "I'll stay the same until then, so come back anytime")
A lot of things about these mvs just intrigued me so much...
Hyeins voice >>
For real her voice is crazy and versatile
I k ow right I still can’t believe it’s her doing the vocals at the beginning & end at 3:27
the music give me some feel like emotional, chill and mix of feeling
I absolutely loved the song. I love how they r not like everyone else and their music is different and I luv that♡♡♡♡♡
for anyone who doesn't understand the meaning of these two mvs: the 6th person is us, their fans.
I love this song it just gets good with every listen
i hear the pink patherress too! and the tune hummed at the end and beginning gives me chills. newjeans is bring something to new to kpop !!!!!! their discography in a few years of time will be insane, the songs are all so catchy. i also love the eerie vibe they’re going for
The MV represents the relationship between idols and fans
ouh my theory was that
They were her friends and got in an accident involving the dear and she recorded places that they used to hang out at when they were still there but she only survived the accident and then on the B side how they showed the dear at the end of the hall and then her and the boy walking and then the dear walked away thats like a synbolization of the girls like “you finally moved on” etc. she was lonely knowing that her friends died thats why she cried and only the guy could see her crying on that bench and everytime the dear popped up it said “woo woo woo ooh” meaning there had to been an accident with the dear. She did have a cast on too. Aswell as how you see in A side how they walked in the rain together and then in B side she, walked alone in the rain while holding her umbrella to her side bc thats what they used to do all together
hybe is taking kpop to the next level with NewJeans. These girls are really taking over right now, atleast for me.
so nostalgic reminds me of my youth. got me the feels.
I love the song
The Jersey club type of vibe with a 90's/2000's aesthetic gets me so nostalgic.
New jeans is such a breath of fresh air for kpop i love it.
They ate. Slayjeans for the win
I prefer this kind of theory than the tragic one🤣
They really are the future of k pop
I love how Seb was confused at Side B's end and then you had me crying, because it made me think of the first time I got into kpop 10 years ago... Damn..
It feels like watching a paranormal.
broo that "do you want somebody like I want somebody" had me thinking about Tink's "I just want somebody to treat me like somebody" hahah not sure if that's what you were thinking of also 👀
I interpreted it like « do you want to be loved like I want to be loved » not necessarily in a romantic way but like to connect with someone you cherish and be cherished, no being alone or misunderstood.

i love the direction theyre going with this. something new!! if they don't go the same direction, it's cool too haha
An older kpop group that did the “new version of soft” you mentioned is Apink and my favorite title of their’s Only One.
not sure if this is what you were thinking, but the "do you want somebody like i want somebody" lyric immediately took me back to aaliyah's "are you that somebody".
But found it cute 😂
"Who let that deer inside" lmaoo.
You can think of the 6th member as a fan of Bernice
I'll write 6th easily
Music video a is a scene where you become a fan of NU'EST JIN
B seemed to be in the process of trying to quit being a fan for real life or other reasons
If you look at M/V A, the 6th member follows idols and tries to keep memories while holding a camcorder to the classroom, snack bar, and rooftop
The reason why I don't see news to others seems to mean the reality that artist mania seems strange (guessing)
And the scene of getting rained on means hardship or hardship, but instead of using an umbrella, the fan chose to get rained on with Newszins
If you look at the contents of the camcorder, it contains who likes what and what the members like
For example, in the video camera, the 6th member calls Hae-rin Kang-kitty, reading Hae-rin, and Hani who buys bread from the snack bar, fans know the members through contents like Jacon
I don't think it's meaningful, but if you talk about the location, the rooftop is like a concert, the gym is like a fan signing, and the club room is like a commu app that communicates with fans
Here, while filming the New Jins stage in the gym, Nam-joo passes by, and the scene of drinking water = Looking at Nam-joo once during the break, and after that, Nam-joo continued to be in my eyes
At this time, the sixth is a woman, but I think the male character means the opposite sex because of the male character
The sixth bandage means pain and ordeal, and NewsGins shares and comforts the pain by leaving graffiti and manicure hearts on the bandage = Sharing of fans and artists
At the end, everyone lies on the sofa and is left alone. Did you put a lot of effort into being a fan, beating the priorities of your current life? Isn't that nothing I've ever recorded? a real blow to
Deer is really difficult, but I think it's a third-party agency, and I think it's shaped like a spirit or a god to receive comfort from the sixth heart
I'm not sure about the last blackboard, but since I erased only half of it, I think I'm sending a message saying, "Please stay even half of your mind to remember New Gins."
If you look at the music video B,
The sixth person surrounded by the news gins finds Nam-joo (Lee Seong, Hyun-saeng) and runs away (negative), and the news gins is puzzled to see the sixth person (don't know the situation of the fans)
After that, the 6th member started filming Nam Joo with a camcorder
It means that your heart moves from New Jin to Nam Joo
I watch News Jinx performing a stage (concert) under the street lamp at night, but I don't record it
Dropping the camcorder on the roof seems to mean you're open to NewsGins
In contrast to the music video a in the rain, he uses an umbrella alone, and Minji's phone call (New Jinx is looking for fans), but he doesn't answer the 6th one
The sixth eventually chose Nam Joo (this may be reason, or it may mean focusing on the present life behind being a fan)
a deer story
In music video a, if the sixth found a deer, in music video b, you can see that the deer came to the classroom (which means that if the mind was outside, now it's inside)
After that, the sixth child who became an adult took out his kept DVD (there is also a rabbit doll) and recalled his school days (remembering his fan life)
The creepy scene was that I was left alone on the empty sofa with a DVD, but when News Jin opened the door and came in, it was a teddy bear? I don't know about this
"Isn't this cute?")
lyrics
It's different if you read and listen to the lyrics
Stay in the middle
Like you a little
Don’t want no riddle
Tell me, say it back
....
I grew up a lot
Like the memories we had together
My heart that looks at you already passed summer and autumn
I've been waiting for you, all the time
I don't know what the song is about, but let's talk about it
Live your life, but don't forget us the same
At the last school, even the deer didn't stand still, but just checking out the sixth and passing by, I think it means "Thank God, I'm relieved" when I see the fan
Side A: Heesoo’s view (filming and living in old memories)
Side B: The boy’s view and Heesoo trying to leave the past and ready for the future.

Lyrics -Aaliyah song Are You that Somebody. "Cause i really want somebody. Tell me are you that somebody?"
Oh oh... Already done watching the whole Mvs a few time and now watching reaction.. I finally realized!!! That, In everything, when the main character was going into something.. Almost no one care? Or just ignore but also giving a condescending look at her.. And only this guy seem to care.. So I guess, she just need even just 1 person to care so she can get over seeing imaginary comfort,.
this song genre is baltimore dance club
AM I JADED???!! hahahahah i fcking WHEEZED! LMFAO
For the reference you were talking about around 10:25, it reminded me of Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody".
I rlly need a reaction to seori 🙏🏽
Haerin is the Center + the main vocalist + the main dancer and the most beautiful girl in New Jeans😍😍🤩🤩
So basically there are 3 theories:
1. The girl heeso is making imaginary friends, because of loneliness and at the end decided to accept her loneliness and let go of the imaginary friends, she choose to do things in reality that is to be with the boy
2. The girl heeso had an car accident with her friends, the friends did not survive only her can survive with the result her hand is broken, she is in a grief and denial, because she still do things she usually do with her friends in the past, but then she realize and accept with the help of the boy
3. The girl heeso is the bunnies/ fans of new jeans, it's projecting the relationship between fans and idols, it's through a screen and camera, but the feeling is real, the fans addicted to them and follow them everywhere and the idol is friendly to the fans too. it's a mutual relationship. But the fans at one point will choose the real life, and look back with nostalgia at the time where they feel like their favorite group is their everything, the new jeans will always be there if the fans want too see them again.
the mv looks like a horror movie lol
Need more CL reactions or a 2NE1 reaction pls!
Are you thinking of Aaliyah for the reference? (Cause I really need somebody, tell me you're that somebody?)
Also, the "congratulations, now you gotta feed it forever" was so not expected 🤣
Early
I just realized that they’re all supposed to be ghost😭😭
I wanna know about the sybolism of that 'deer' because it's kinda freaky lol
(I am addicted to idols)
I have an umbrella, but I will get in the rain with them. We will overcome the ordeal together until the end.
Minji erased the girl's legs. (The girl doesn't go anywhere)
B. I shoot them again today, but as expected, my friends look at me strangely.
I share my sadness on the bench with New Jeans (I guess the male student caught my eye)
When the male student looks at him, he spurns the spot and leaves. New Jeans looks at male students
I take a picture of a male student with a camcorder. New Jeans seem to get along just fine without me or without me
Maybe I'm not needed by them...
(Like growing pains)
I became an adult and found a video in my memory box
Let's see the camcorder videos I took
They weren't looking at the camcorder, they were looking into my eyes.
10:21 sorry im probably completely off but....I wanna dance with somebody??
just pissed me off how u watched TWO mvs but didnt pay attention to any of it lmfaooo
Big hit/HYBE and a Cam recorder in MV is a no no sign. Like it's either them not existing or died or something. Prove me wrong.
I love your username😅
ISNT THE BOY FROM 25-21?? THE KDRAMA 25/21?!? CAN SOMEBODY ANSWER MEEEE
idk if there’s a official storyline but aside from the “imaginary friend” type thing, i thought that hanni also likes the guy and the girl won the guy over at the cost of their friendship. from there it just got worse idk 😵💫
@@shiroshiro688 Ooooh… eso tiene mucho más sentido! No me extraña que el video musical fuera tan aterrador...
i was looking at the comments and my theory was so off from what everyone thinks HELP. but my theory is that the girl filming them was a friend of theirs and the girls were in a car accident and the one filming was the only survivor (since she was a cast all she got was a broken arm) and she's watching the home movies to remember her friends
Ohh this is not a love story 😂.....it's about a girl having imaginary frds (new jeans)....she is literally filming no one 🥺
a song for a loner ? yes i take it
hmm wasnt a fan of the song, there was some parts i liked and parts i didnt like. i especially disliked the "ratatata" part.. wasnt a fan of the chorus as much. only part that stood out was in the prechorus "I got no timе to lose" this line specifically, idk who sings that line but i loved their voice
before and after. It's haunting her, they should be 6, but unfortunately some accident happened, yet 1 survived and that's her, the girl whos filming. The deer represent NewJeans. On side B, she tried to move on, with the guy who saw her. She dispose the camera, yet kept the memories in film to be in remembrance before they're dead.
my question is tf is hyun wook doing there🤨
too bad for this reactor, didnt react the MV story.
