- This guy has a big head. This is 7 x 7 inches, oil on hardboard, using photo reference. This is sped up 5x, so if you use the video controls to playback at 0.25x, it's pretty close to real time. you are disgustingly good my man. there will be a dark part that's completely amorphous and then with one stroke it completely changes the context of a whole area. beautiful.
Your use of color is always so fcking gorgeus
Jackfilms looks great
Brilliant. It's frustrating that you get such realism with so little rendering! I love it.
Video title is misleading. You used a paintbrush throughout.
Ha!
Stunning! Love that you took time in beginning to create the primary colors for the portrait. Love that you leave the paint and don’t beat it to death. My only criticism is I would have picked more of a color for the background value. Overall, absolutely gorgeous.
Thought you were gonna draw jacksfilms
Ayy Prra beat me to it
You are so good. Your brush work is totally stunning, just perfect. You are a true master in my opinion.
No words. This is just stunning to see. Keep making the videos, there fantastic.
I drool watching you paint. Strokes and colors are spot on.
You always know what i want, John
I've always wanted to try starting with a black/dark background since I learned batman the animated series was done that way. it does so much for the shadows/shading you can't get working the other way round.
Always impressive ! I can't tell why, but I just thought this guy in the painting seems to be a very kind man..Maybe this is what we really call "skills" :)
the first tuches was great..
good work
could you please once to a tortorial, do show us how you work step by step, how do you choose your colours etc
I like seeing the palette.
Amazing work. I just tried to paint a portrait in oils after years of no practise. I gave up! Forgot how bloody hard it is.
I admire your loose and expressionist brush strokes🤓👍🏻
Thank you.
excellent
El óleo es maravilloso y tu forma de pintar fantástica . Me encanta el óleo. Gracias por compartir tu obra.
Absolutely amazing
Beautiful artwork, as always. Yoh are a great inspiration
👍 j ai adoré 🎶merci pour ce partage 🎵belle journée 🙋🏻♀️
INCREIBLE!
I really wish that I could paint like that! I tried painting someone but it ended up looking really far from what it should look like, I love your content and good day!
Amazing
I aspire to be as good as you are painting
But I don't even know where to start
i think the thing is you just start. just start and make terrible shite and keep making it.
Everyone starts somewhere, but you have to start. Learn from Proko and James Gurney. Read 'Art and Fear.' In the end, experience will hone your skill.
so good
Super!
So happy with my painting from you.....if i have money again...
Super. As always :)
So cool!!!!!
Kinda reminds me of idubbbz
Excellent work. Do you work initially with some disolve aditive and with oil of linaza for example? Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia!
Thanks. I use a little walnut oil sometimes in the sketch phase.
@@LarrivaArt thank you very much, I doubt how begin the work, its mayve to do the Oil more light. Thank you, big hug
@@macropsialberto Yep, very light. Nowadays, I'm trying to use no additives in the beginning.
Are you mixing any mediums into your paint? I looked through a bunch of comments on a bunch of videos and can't find if you've answered that already, I'm sorry if you have.
Ah, I found that its Gamblin solvent-free gel, which I happen to have! Anything else?
Yes, I'm also using walnut oil for when I need the paint looser.
Great work, have you ever worked on bigger panel?
I painted a 52 foot long mural on mdf panel 20 years ago. I've been painting progressively smaller since then.
*B I G B R A I N !*
👍 bravo
i just love u
Super ❤️
Are these panels you are using? I picked up 20 panels of about the same size for $2 at a yard sale.
Score! Yes, these are hardboard/masonite panels primed with acrylic gesso and toned with acrylic paint.
When you prime your canvas do you use the oil as it is or do you thin it if I may ask. Love your stuff!!
No thinner. Turps, kerosene, even odorless mineral spirits all give me a headache.
Jackfilms *_ is that you??_*
What did you coat the canvas with right before painting? What for?
That's walnut oil, just to make the surface more slippery.
How do you know exactly what to do ? The photo or the lights guide you ? Come on please give us a clue ..😅😆😆🙄
It's a puzzle of color-shapes and edges. Paint-by-numbers without the numbers or drawing.
:o first
awesome!!!
Is the panel placed vertically or horizontally?
Actually, it's at about a 45 degree angle.
Thanks a lot. :)
Do you use any kind of medium?
Yes. I'm using walnut oil for thinner application and solvent-free gel for thicker application.
Do you know Lena Rivo's work?
Yep. I follow Lena here on yt. I like her hue shifts from light to shadow.
Cool, I own a couple of her pieces. Love her landscapes, not as crazy about her figurative work. The reason I ask is because her very lose style reminds me a bit of yours. I dig her brush work. Once again , thanks for the art. Will.
Hey big head (;
Did you go to school?
I majored in art, but didn't graduate.
