It is a nice city. The customer service (restaurants, museums, attractions) was friendly in Portland. There were lines for food and events, so people were out enjoying the city. The homelessness issue is bad as in other cities in the USA. The sidewalks are fine for walking. Just don't go under bridges where people live.
