Thanks for sharing about the Greater Leavenworth Museum! We love this museum and how they tell the story of Leavenworth's unique transformation from a railroad and timber town to a Bavarian village!
My uncle Harold and aunt Velma Andress helped build this town in the late sixties. I spent all summer on the loose in this town in 1974. I was 15. This place changed my life forever. 🙏♥️. Most visitors never see the real Leavenworth. My cousin Julie had a pet goat that followed her around town like it was a puppy. "Gotely" loved people.
Thank you for sharing! I was just mentioning Leavenworth to a coworker. Had a family reunion there in 1997. Whitewater rafting down the Wenatchee, stayed at the Mountain Springs Lodge. Beautiful.
Leavenworth is one of my favorite weekend trips! Famous for its Christmas Festivals, not to mention Oktober Fest, but I have only been in the Summer. It is in Eastern Wa. so its really warm in the Summer....like 105 today :o We always go in August and float the river on tubes. This year we are trying a white water raft day. Should be interesting. Amazing Food!!
Came here to check out your video because I will be visiting Leavenworth this Friday as I travel from Pennsylvania to Washington state for a guys weekend! Looking forward to this!
Well done video. Visiting the area next month and your informative video has taken the guess work out of what to do and see while there- your soothing voice is a bonus!
Came here to check out this town after seeing Alison Brie's new film on Prime Video "Somebody I Used to Know". Cool place, thanks for making this video!
I'm a former local, and I think you did well showcasing the area 😁 I would add, that if wine is your thing, Chelan is where its at... granted there's plenty of crossover (even the actual business owners are setup in both tourist traps). I'd include Wenatchee and Mission ridge for Wintersports.
I'm going to Seattle with my family for Christmas Want to go to Leavensworth for Christmas, but the train doesn't run on Christmas day...I would have to stay up there Xmas eve, Xmas day, and catch the train back to Seattle the day after Xmas. It's a beautiful town but is it worth staying up there for 3 days or should I just visit for the day and have Christmas in Seattle?
I had an intense vivid dream about an off shore prison named "Leavenworth" so I decided to look up the name on UA-cam. It was extremely bizarre and I'm astonished that the name ACTUALLY pertained to a real place (I've never heard the name "Leavenworth" prior to my lucid dream). Crazy how the mind works.
We traveled there a few different times (video is a compilation of 3 different 2-3 day trips!). But 2-3 days is enough to take in the atmosphere and do one of the hikes!
Wait a minute, hot springs?? Tell me more! I live near Seattle, visit Leavenworth every year, but never heard of hot springs near by. Please let me know where I can find it. Thank you.
It’s near Steven’s Pass. But getting to Scenic Hot Springs requires a 1.5 - 2 hour hike up into the mountains, and requires snowshoes (or skis with skins) after fresh snow.
Well we've been multiple times! That was our fourth time in Leavenworth actually... we usually go for 3-4 days each time (but so some of the things were filmed over different getaways!)
I got kicked out last night with my wife in my RV .They say no more overnight parking. Spending my money 💰 in that place so many times that's what I got. This place is super expensive. If you have money and don't know what to do with money then go there. Probably my last time there. Going back to my favorite free camping 🏕 spots . Leavenworth don't care for tourists just for they money 😏
I have really enjoyed myself in Leavenworth, all the shop and restaurant workers were pleasant, happy and inviting. Some of the residents are hardcore anti Biden and very uninviting to people on the other side of the mountains. BEWARE of radical trumpers, they made it perfectly clear they didn't want us here, told us to go back to Seattle, this was there town and we weren't welcome. Beautiful place but not a place I will ever feel comfortable again. I guess there's bad people everywhere.I feel more comfortable in my city than in Leavenworth, and I live in TACOMA. If you go be on guard.
@@btrotter4775 I bet the restaurants, bars, hotels etc don't feel that way. Your town wouldn't exist in it's present manner without the people on the west side of the mountains.
It's ruined, don't waste your time. Really crowded with tourists, and sometimes all you hear is Punjabi. It used to be quiet and homespun, but now it's all fake Bavarian kitsch trying to crowd as much into one very short main street. Sad, but that's the truth.
Since christianity seems to rule what event can & cannot be a part of Leavenworth, we will no longer be going to Leavenworth for any events. And our 3 day reunions will be booked elsewhere.
I had just left the area prior to the Krampus scandal... couldn't believe how stupid the whole thing was 🙄 The kids didn't seem too frightened based on the photos I saw 🤷🏻♂
I'm a brown latino dude who's been there multiple times and I had 0 issue, there isn't a lot of POCs around but i still see some and it's not like I feel like I'm isolated as hell either. I only ever visited for a day though and haven't booked into any hotels so I wouldn't know anything about that experience

What is the best time of the year to visit Leavenworth? Especially for those who are not into skiing

It's an interesting story indeed!

What a nice story! We read the history on the information board in town and it's amazing how your aunt and uncle were part of that 🤩
I want my own goat to follow me when I visit too 🐐😔
I moved to Washington 2 yrs ago and long to go on mini adventures like these loved this video highlighting Leavenworth I will have to go now

You're welcome! Thanks for watching. Leavenworth is a really cool place. One of our favorite in Washington
Love Leavenworth! Great tips - icicle creek winery is spectacular!
Yes Leavenworth is awesome! Icicle definitely has the best wine around 😉
Reallly well done video. Leavenworth is amazing.
Thanks! Yes it is 😍
This was very informative and well presented!

I have no plans to go to Leavenworth currently but I really want to check it out in the near future.
Yes it's beautiful! You should!
Wow. Thanks !
Thanks for watching! 😁
Good that you kept the enchantments hike in the end because we were all dead after the hike 🤣
haha yeah it's a killer!
there are a few beaches near the river below the town if you go during the summer, really great place to swim!
Nice to know! We'll go there next time!
What a great story for both of you!! Great adventures .
I spent some time in Leavenworth for the Octoberfest!!
Nice! We wonder how it compares to the one in München (that’s the one we’ve been to before!). Leavenworth is a lovely place
@@worldwildhearts I’ve been to the “real” one twice. 1987 and 2018.
Leavenworth is a good one but no comparison whatsoever.
Gracias 😍 me encantó tu video, mostraste muchas cosas que me e perdido por hacer cuando visito Leavenworth
eso es para su próxima visita!
@@worldwildhearts SI EN FEBRERO VOY A ESTAR AI POR 3 DIAS 🥰
I need to see it in december
Awesome video!
Thanks!😀
We will be there in june 2024 for our honeymoon and I'm not sure we'll be able to enjoy it all in our 5 day stay.
Pick your 5-6 favorites of the list! 😉 No reason to rush on your honeymoon 🙏
Ive spent my whole life coming here several times a year! We just posted our video about it!

Reminds me of Kastelruth
Reminds me of Helen GA
Very nice.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks! Great video! Do you remember if the icicle ridge trail is jogging stroller friendly?
The trail was pretty groomed, so definitely the easier one to take a stroller on!
Amazing video i live there
Awesome place to live! We come by quite often!
Haha what a coincidence! Maybe it’s a sign 😇
Amazing place, do you guys know place in US similar to this city? Not necessary "Bavarian" but mb something in Eng or France style.
Hmm not really! New Orleans has a really authentic French quarter with lots of French architecture. Other than that we’re not sure!
How many days you guys spent there? and thank you for the share!
We traveled there a few different times (video is a compilation of 3 different 2-3 day trips!). But 2-3 days is enough to take in the atmosphere and do one of the hikes!

For me it means flying 1000 of miles over the Atlantic to be in Austria again ... 😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol 🤣🤣🤣

Great place to live! :D
How long were you guys there? Didn't catch it.
Well we've been multiple times! That was our fourth time in Leavenworth actually... we usually go for 3-4 days each time (but so some of the things were filmed over different getaways!)
Best hotel?
We added some links to the ones we stayed in the description!
I'm going to guess that Zac is an Aquarius and Ine is an Aries.
Both wrong 😅
@@worldwildhearts what are your actual signs?
Zac is a Taurus, Ine a Virgo 😆
*beer tasting
Also definitely possible!

Huhhbubbbb bbbb
As a local tourist has ruined this town. Garbage and graffiti everywhere. Us locals make it a tradition to run tourist off the road.

My state is very tolerant, you should be fine.
Idk a German themed town that celebrates a certain birthday on April 20th every year and does weekly attic checks for the locals. You tell me?

"Bavarian". Not German.
Love to go there one day
I have a question
Why don’t they have skiing ⛷ near by?
Seems a must
They do... at Steven's Pass you can go skiing!
