He (Peter) always looked like he was ready to burst out laughing as he was singing 🤣It was a smashing song though, I can remember hearing it on the radio often when I was growing up. Thanks.
@mollsriver Herman's Hermits "I Can Take Or Leave Your Loving" I was 5 years old and bought this 45 record for one cents at a garage sale. My friends and I played this song hundred's of times! LOVE IT...and I still have the record!
those were the days! i found their greatest hits in a wonderful little second hand cd store in my village when i was 13, and it's still one of my favourite cds :)
One of my favourite Herman's Hermits songs - "I Can Take Or Leave Your Loving" was a Tamla-Motown-ish number also covered by The Foundations and Henry Boatwright at the time. But the version released on single by Herman's Hermits in late December 1967 is undoubtedly the best. Great song!
I just noticed after viewing this clip countless times two girls are dancing together in the background. TOTP was light years ahead in gay and lesbian issues.
It's not a lame song, although Noon doesn't seem particularly into it, for whatever reason. At least he's singing live, and I even saw a cord on one of the guitars; kind of a treat for TOTP audiences.
Love this video... except for the lame announcer at the end! One of the things I love about Peter Noone is how he smiles when he makes mistakes! It makes the mistake fun!! I've seen him in concert many many times, and never tire of how he interacts with his band and the audience!
Who is this jerk Steve Wright who is calling this tune "lame"? At first I thought it was the guy from the Easybeats, but it's actually some dj trying to show how cool he is (isn't). One of the few pop songs of this era that actually had the balls to direct it from a male's point of view. Instead of the usual doormats who are "dying" when their girl walks out on them the singer in this song is waving good-bye without missing a beat.

The hits in the uk kept coming till 1971 , big hits as well .
Great song and Brilliant Group
A really great, happy song. Steve Wright never had a clue, did he?
Great tune, but "happy"? He's giving the girl her pink slip.
He is a irritating man. Can’t stand him
Peter Noone was laughing because he got the words wrong twice!!
Danny

Can you read my mind? What a lame DJ! This is a great song. It's very cheerful and melodic.
@stitchesful
I think it was originally the B-side of The Foundations "Back on My Feet Again"

Yeah I think its definitely one of their best. Steve Wright apparently sometimes thinks its cool to dis bands for no reason
Steve is an asshole!
PETERかわいい!この曲は🇯🇵でもヒットしました
PETER is charmy boy .
THE life I Walk Whith Him . 👩
@Pudentame Thank you.
Who was the original group for this song? Was it these guys, or some other group or solo artist? Forgive my musical ignorance, but I'm curious.
Foundation also did it.
just a nice sing-a-long song,not the greatest single ever.
I'm not sorry ^^ อิอิ
Average single but I wouldn't say lame.
2:40 "What a lame song" Steve Wright was so right! It's a B-side at best
God that was a tedious song. Not every song of the 60's was gold.
This was a great song.
❤❤❤
