I'm 20 and Gary Numan is one of the greatest musical artists of today and I'm always disgusted at the 80's music scene for treating him the way they did. Half the 80's groups wouldn't have existed without Gary because they'd have had nobody to copy. Yeah, he mad a couple of dodgy albums in the late 80's/early 90's but ever since he's been getting better each year and should be massive again by now. He's a better singer and songwriter and performer than he ever was. Seems like a decent guy too. Hope to see his new album do as well as it should and by that I mean hopefully it'll be his best performing album in ages and do better than Splinter. I know it's gonna be s great album!
And the "dodgy" albums part of my comment was in reference to how they were received and promoted more than anything. My choice of words was a bit shit. (Told you that one day I would come back.)
Marley R Very well said young one. It's lovely to hear opinions from Numan's new younger generation of fans. I am one of his older generation of fans and agreed that his new stuff is better than his mid to late 80's music. This new song is incredible and just shows how, even now, he is still at the top of his game. 😄
Amanda Nu Moo One of the many things that keeps new fans coming is his ability to constantly evolve. I really do love his early stuff but I'm always more interested to know what he'll do next and so many others from his time just don't have that effect because they live off what they did at the start of their careers and become a living shrine to the past whereas Gary has always looked forward from day one. He's always ahead of his time. He was at my age and he is now. It's great!
Marley R: It was actually David Bowie who should take most of the credit/blame for the 80s. Station to station, Low, Heroes and Lodger showed the "new way". Also another Nine inch nails influenced Numan album doesn't sound progressive to me. In truth, I don't think Numan was ever THAT good and I don't have any real confidence in his abilities to come up with something as good as something like Music for chameleons.
Hmmm didn't Gary Numan come before nine inch nails after than it was just blah, blah, blah! Me: ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............ O good! he stop talking.
Fabulous. Persia singing is very sweet and she has a fantastic voice!!!
Love it😊😊😊😊😊😊 oh. Come on bbc. Play. More. Numan please
Thank god. For. Bbc 6

For the sake of fairness though, I probably should add that this is better than I was expecting from him at this stage of the game (injury time?!).
"Fans go all the way from 48 to 50" - LOL Steve Lamacq :-)
Nah I'm 56, been a fan for 39 years, we get better with age. :-)
