Yes! My video suggestion paid off 😀Unknown yardages is a great challenge but also a lot of fun. Plus I think there's more opportunity for ribbing 🤣 Need to do a full challenge adding in MFJJ and the guys from the shop
I shoot in the UK for the NFAS. This is how we shoot all our 3ds in competition. We have to judge all distances as range finders are not permitted. Really nice to see you guys do it and have a video that's really relatable to some UK archers.
This is great, all the smack talk is awesome! I am currently shooting a lot of unknown bowhunter at the local archery shoots. I really feel it give me more confidence in my shot while hunting. Great video Tim!!
Great content as always. Judging yardage is rarely done these days and is a lost art. Im guilty of letting this skill atrophy unfortunately and now maybe ill practice a bit like this. Cheers
Last two shoots were fun to watch. This one makes me question my range knowledge. Definitely something to play with. Have Drew break down set up. Ik it takes up time but cool to see wat other run and see how it performs
Loving the videos Tim! Would you please just go over bow and arrow setups in the beginning of the videos? Like make, model, sights, draw length, draw weight, total arrow weight 3 fletch or 4 etc. Love hearing what everyone is shooting in these friendly competitions!
Just watched this. Enjoyed it. Everyone judge’s yardage differently. Would like to see you do it at another course you haven’t shot before with a couple people
Really enjoy your vids since you left the other guys. Congrats on the bear you got up here in my back yard. Also nice to see your numbers coming up as well. Another nice aspect of this video is your speaking English and not trying to come across like a rapper. I think you picked that up from those other guys. Oh, camera skills also seem to be getting smoother. Keep,it up Tim, you’ll hit 100K before you know it.
Recommend shooting difficult shots, like between a tree or a rock, where you have a small margin or error or where you have to decide whether you need to get on your knees to be able to make the shot. We loose a lot of error but is real fun.
Be aware that paper tuning only really gives you a snap shot of a point in time, other distances MAY give you a slightly different result, up to the point where the arrow finally stabilizes (if it does !)
Hey Tim I was just here to try and possibly provide some relief to your arrow flight issue looking at some of the shots it looks like you may come off of your face slightly on follow through which has a tendency to push arrows left. So if you have left misses this could be why also explains the arrow flight.(most obvious at 7:30)
Can't speak for US comps but every 3d Comp I've shot in Australia, the range finders have to stay in the car. Binos are ok but if you can't judge distance as part of tour game, you're boned We usually shoot out to a Max of 60 yards, though
My first 3d shoot I accidentally signed up for unknow! Didn’t know until I pulled out my range finder on the first target and they stopped me lol. Been doin it ever since! Evens the playing field out a bit. Not just an accuracy competition
You should transformed so much, your shooting everything archery. It's also good to see you with something other than a Matthews. Which is what I primarily used to shoot myself.
Thank you my friend 🙏 judging the targets was a combination of prior experience on the course and then years of having to judge yardages in golf.. there's a few more tricks and tips good archers use but I haven't got to play with them yet
@@TimConnor13 I’ve honestly never shot a known 3D. Half the fun and challenge of 3D is judging yardage. It becomes a game everywhere you go afterwards. You’ll see a landmark, judge it and then pace it off. It’s amazing how good you can get in time the more you do it. I’ve been shooting trad and barebow now for the last decade or so and without a sight it’s even more fun to shoot unknown distances.
Every Sunday I shoot in granite state bow Hunter I shoot m.b.o farthest target is 60 yards all unknown yard’s it’s extremely fun and will make you a better bow Hunter and shot instead of relying on a rang finder
Great getting back to basics. The short clips pieced together, along with some of the jerky motion, seems a bit excessive. Maybe a little less of that with more smooth transitions mixed in will highlight the effect your looking for???
Need to find aa local club where you don’t know the place. Hopefully they would at least have a field course or better yet animal shots set up. I shot unknown for years and years and it definitely adds a big degree of difficulty. Our 3 local clubs went to crap here so me and my son just went to known for the ASA EVENTS. Still gotta make the shot though.
Is your arrow flight funny because the arrow initially wants to spin left, then is forced to spin right? I find every clockwise string spins the arrow counter... Also, the "no peeking" is so funny: I got an axcel magnifier for my sight and I find the little plastic flap so ridiculous as a cheater blocker. Don't look at my sight and don't look at my screen while playing GoldenEye!!
That is my issue, how much of my issues at 50+ is me, or my equipment. I hope to start working on my own bow later this year (need a bit more cash for some of the things) so i assume any issues is myself.
He wasn’t paper tuning his bow, he was simply checking to see if his bow was off after seeing some funny arrow flight before. If your bow was fully tuned like his obviously has been there’s no reason to go overboard when an arrow flew a little funny in slow motion.
When I was shooting 3D 25 years ago there were no range finders. Range estimation was done the hard way. I used to practice it during dog walks and became infallible out to about 60 yards or so. I haven't been to a formal tournament in years and now I see long range shots, range finders and realize how old I am. When did the damned trails get so steep anyways? Keep shooting fellas. Shoot your brains out!!! Hold your friends close. Your only competitor is the bum you see in the shaving mirror every morn. You may not realize it, but these are the times of your life.
I tried this first day of northwest .ountain challenge, someone would correct. But the last day of the challenge I'd get with in half a yard most of the time awesome vid bro.
Happy Monday Friends! Take a vote or drop me an idea for the next archery video.. and when you’re done watching, go shoot your bow 😊
How about enter into real archery competitions?
@@cor_rok one coming up, more on that soon
It’s fricking raining AGAIN! Amarillo flooding!
Golf + Archery competition:
3 holes stableford scoring + 3 - 3D targets
Highest combined score wins.
Yes! My video suggestion paid off 😀Unknown yardages is a great challenge but also a lot of fun. Plus I think there's more opportunity for ribbing 🤣 Need to do a full challenge adding in MFJJ and the guys from the shop
Do more! Make sure with Drew, you guys make me laugh

Loved it, as always! More bow hunters need to step up their yardage estimation game! Never know when that range finder battery might die!
Thanks Dan!
Tim your production quality is amazing. Teach Josh.
Liked this video. Good to work on unknown distances. Cant always range.

That was the Best, love the unknown yardage challenge. Simulation hunting senerios.
It was fun to make too 🙏
We do it all of the time at the range, specially right before opening day. We also do it at camp a day before the hunt. Is good practice.
Just watched this. Enjoyed it. Everyone judge’s yardage differently. Would like to see you do it at another course you haven’t shot before with a couple people
Sweet video brother. Drew, that’s how I am with my Mathews v3. I think it’s maxed out around 78 lbs. but it just feels to easy.

Tim ever shot an English round called a York. 6 dozen at 100yards 4 dozen at 80y and 2 dozen at 60yards . Zimbabwean living in England
Loved it
Someday I will achieve arrow flight like MFJJ, that clip was super kewl!!!
Good shooting fellas!
Good realistic archery tool to practice. Judging yardage by sight could give you the ability to act a lot quicker IMO.
I agree, and will be doing a lot more of it!!
You should transformed so much, your shooting everything archery. It's also good to see you with something other than a Matthews. Which is what I primarily used to shoot myself.
Let’s get a review on the podium archer stabilizers.
They’re solid.. I’m not sure how to do a full vid about them but I like them
100K Leggo!
🙏🙏🙏
Great to see you won a shootout. I feared you would never beat anyone.. !
Nice fun shoot. I just subscribed!
You are great at yardage estimates. Do you have a key to how you do that? Your shooting has gotten great over last year. Keep up the good work.

@@TimConnor13 do you only respond when some one pays you a compliment?
I would absolutely like to see you guys start shooting unknown. Leave the rangefinder’s at home.
It was fun!

I like dans funny little hand movement right before he anchors, definitely haven't seen that before
I was thinking the same thing it’s definitely different
I like practicing unknown distances
You guys had a nice day too shoot.
amazing day to shoot!
Great practice

Hey Brother. Despite the score, You both shot pretty damn good. After seeing this, I know I need to work on my distance judging.

could you shoot that slo-mo at 120 or are you using the 240 (that only the A7Siii can do)?
I shoot 120 98% of the time and 240 on rare occcasion

That was a good video. But can you describe what your looking at as far as high grass, any variables and elevation angle.
What bino harness are you guys using?
Hey Tim. I was just wondering what microphones do you use ? I’m looking to upgrade myself. Thanks brother
Dji wireless and rode video
Mic go 2

Word, it's nice to be able to work on your bow!
I shot archery for 40+ years never did I wear a bib and belly pack. Drokie
!
How do you mean you a little hot on the trigger? And keep the series rolling!
See a lot of long shots, what about
i hate golf too drew lol !
ABT !
Would be cool to see you vs mfjj unknown!
Don’t run Drew off I like him in the vids
Same
You upgraded your bow from the garbage pale kid bow 😉
Sorry Tim paper at 3 feet is just a start!
I shoot from from 8 to 10 feet away way when I paper tune. And I shoot a bare shaft.
