  • I take a trip to Minnesota Point in Duluth MN. I can't resist a trip to Duluth Trading Co. to look for a long sought after item- a workshop apron for the van cave. Foodie stuff and art and antiques included.

I have faith, but not in technology. Getting lost is what my wife calls taking the scenic route. Great video.

Being a Minnesota native, I must say: Been there, done that. Mrs and I live in the Twin Cities and don't mind the drive ( although it seems like I-35 is constantly under construction ). Back in the 90's Duluth had a Northern League baseball team which competed against our St. Paul Saints. Great fun - good times. We have cross country skied at Spirit Mountain and further north at Gooseberry Falls State Park. I haven't to Nevada for a while. Perhaps we'll head your way sometime.

I lived in Duluth for many years, its great plus its only 2 hours away from Minneapolis and St.Paul. Twice a year we go up the North Shore (Hwy. 61), starting from Duluth all the way over the Canadian border to Thunder Bay, The greatest scenery in the world.

Good video. I like the pacing and you maintained the story line well. I like your explanation of the value of getting lost. A recovery from your earlier getting lost adventure. Nice idea about the adventure of getting off of the highway. The intro was great. I liked the jump-cuts of the van going down the road. I am looking forward to more. Till then, ual.

Honestly, I did not know that Duluth is a real place (embarrassing). I've only heard about it on "Sleepless in Seattle" and thought it was a made-up place. Now I know it's in MN and quite a nice place, no less. Lovely video. Thank you for sharing.

There is also a Duluth, Georgia, too, but, being a Minnesota native, I stick to the original.

Good info on so many beautiful items during
    your trip, Steve...
    Grew-up, since '69, in
Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and also raised my two kiddos there, actually in the old Alta Loma area! Still a very nice area yet now super busy, of course, compared to the horse and vineyard country I so enjoyed:)
We rode for miles through orange trees
    without seeing anyone!
    The Sam Maloof Museum
is there showcasing many of his amazingly timeless woodworking pieces and
    worth a stop for anyone
    in that area of country!!

North of Duluth on route 61 there are some awesome Falls I'm thinking they were called Gooseberry Falls. There is also a bridge and a launch built by the civilian cores of the engineers the workmanship is outstanding.further north on 61 is a lighthouse on 110 foot cliff that was built in the late 1800s . I was amazed at the things we used to be able to build in America. It is definitely well worth the drive

Duluth Trading! I can attest to the quality of the womens flannel shirts but that's all I've ever ordered. Let us know how you like the shop apron. Awesome bridge, I've never seen one like that before. Great video.

Is there any reason why you use a garmin rather than just using your phone? In my experience, my phone has been a lot more reliable than my garmin so much that I just tossed it in the trash.
Great videos btw, randomly stumbled upon your channel a couple nights ago and managed to binge watch at least half of them.

T-Mobile is the answer to the cell phone. I lose service and it drops. I use it for a backup sometimes but out here it is horrible.

Ask your friend if he has ever heard of the labyrinth underneath St Paul.. Deep, deep down in the sandstone under the city there is about 15 square miles of hand carved utility tunnels going back into the 1800's. We are talking about way, way under ground and not many people know of them

I've been down there. There used to be this entry way located on Plato Avenue.. It's spooky down there and sometimes you can meet some pretty scary people. I don't know if it it is there anymore. Going down there it is better to be young. People used to party down there. I remember going to this place named "The Stairway to Heaven," an alcove carved into the sand stone featuring a great throne with a grinning skull as the back. There's lots of history down there, much of it untold to the general public, and no, it isn't really safe, at least not the places I went to ...
