Not many people like this music! I was talking to them from a Pakistani's perspective folks. How can you not see such crowd and me sharing the fact that Metallica is the first band to perform in all seven continents. In Pakistan many people dislike this kind of music but I am a metalhead on the other hand. Please stop lol!
🤘🏼 rock on!🔥🔥
Metallica is the greatest metal band in the world. They have compilations with orchestras that you might enjoy. Their music is very complicated, and they are immensely talented. They are loved by more people worldwide than any other band of their genre. I have seen them live in concert 10 times. Long Live the Mighty Met!!! \m/
Agreed. I think people forget that different culture are not quite connected easily. Especially people in rural areas like this! I got it. :)
Can’t wait to see the Hu videos!
As a fellow metal head who listens to mostly Black Metal, I think Metallica was an awesome choice to start with. Well done Sir. Also, who knew Parvati was a budding metal head. 👍🏽
3:00 " oh God, no one would survive if they fell in such a crowd. "
Travis Scott agrees.
i thought the same 💀
🤣
wHeW!!! I was thinking that VERY SAME THING!
Too soon. 😂
Zing!
You know a concert is huge when people from India say "I've never seen so many people together before"
True.but i think these are from Pakistan.
Yeah you meant South Asia, but true af 😆
Pakistan*
My mistake. On other episodes (maybe reaction to how large solar system is) there is a young man that constantly bounces his head around. Maybe that's why I thought India
@@scottoshea9440 To be fair, both Pakistan and Bangladesh have previously been part of India, and the three, as well as Nepal and Sri Lanka, share a huge amount of linguistic and cultural heritage (with the head bobbing you're referring to being one example), and so the term "South Asia(n)" is often used to refer to any of these countries while avoiding the need to specify a particular nation.
Geographic terminology is pretty confusing, and the political realities of any given region really don't help. The essence of your comment was ultimately accurate, not to mention funny, hence all the likes.
“Is this inducing any fears or anxiety in you?”
“No, I like it.”
She’s metal🤘
Definitely!
@@Inaluoghthat's so true
It's bc she didn't have any prejudice bc she didn't know anything about metal. Now I love Metallica but when I first heard them with this song, I was a bit scared 😂
Something about metal man.
For USSR it was the real wall-breaking event. Even the military guys started vibing, though initially being brought there to control the crowd. That's the true force of music to gather and transform people.

Ozzy, Skid Row, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi all were there. Metallica just rode on their coat tails.
hell yeah brother music is universal language
Western music was banned for so long, just traditional music and BAD BAD soviet pop to listen to. I think I'd flip out and get excited freely listening to real music live for the first time too.
@@AwesomeFish12 yes, I think these bands were allowed to play because of a change of attitude in leadership. Gorbachev was enacting perestrokia and I believe these concerts were part of it.
@@AwesomeFish12 What tf are you talking about. People in the USSR could listen to foreign music during the Soviet Union, it just had to be approved by the government. Sometimes foreign artists held concerts in the Soviet Union. Western music wasn't banned altogether. And music was relatively diverse, not just "traditional music" (which was more classical than trad btw. Hearing actual ethnographic songs from villages was extremely rare). Pop music wasn't bad at all, it was actually very good, with strong melodies etc (I'd say Russian pop music today is generally worse than it was 35 years ago). Even Soviet cartoons and movies had excellent music (classic example: Bremenskiye Muzykanty). Most music was rooted in a well-structured, classical melody tradition though, so at some point a lot of people wanted to hear something fresher (mainly younger people). The problem is that you weren't allowed to be a pro musician and be paid for it unless you were a member of the musician's union of the Soviet Union (a.k.a a government approved musician/composer), which meant you had to go really underground to showcase your music. Even though music in the Soviet Union wasn't as diverse as in some other countries until the mid 80's, it still was great music. Metal that came into the USSR during the Perestroika felt super fresh, which is why a lot of people liked it (and why a lot of Russians are metalheads even today). Metal was associated with freedom and coolness. Doesn't mean that old music was not "real". Stop spreading bs when you know nothing what life is or was like in other countries.

😆🤣👏🏼
Back in 1990 I was in Alabama visiting my brother and sister in law. Me and TJ went to pick up his wife's car. I was driving the truck home. While waiting I was parked behind this older man about 65. He walked up to the truck and said, "excuse me ma'am. Would you mind moving your truck"? I said I'm not a ma'am. His moutj hit the floor. I had hair down to my ass. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This music is not to make you go insane. It's to let out the pain from inside and let go of it. Where some people understand, others don't. That's why a lot of people don't understand metal.
Amen
Or it's just heavy and badass and sounds awesome. Although i will admit when i worked in construction I listened to a lot more metal and it wasn't because life was good lol
I actually get "pain" from listening to stuff that's too simple and formulaic. I like primal, heavy, dissonant, jazzy, weird, experimental, high complexity.
P.S. Really bad choice of sound system to present metal on. Of course metal sounds like crap on a 5 cent laptop speaker.
Grindcore and Raw Black metal want to make you insane.
Precisely. I enjoy many styles of music, but metal is so...empowering...energetic...and yes, anger-expressing/releasing sometimes. And some of its lyrics are downright poetry, such as some of Ozzy's, Iron Maiden's, and Metallica's, which make you think.
I didn't believe you when you said Metallica has played on all 7 continents and had to look it up myself. I said, "No way Metallica played in Antartica. No one lives there." I was wrong. In 2013 Metallic played a show in Antartica called Freeze 'Em All for an audience of ~120 people. Amazing!
"Not many people like this music"
Biggest crowd legitimately ever
Yeah, the only thing that annoyed me was the takes of the interviewer on the subject, like: "do you need aspirins?" and "no matter how hard you try, some things won't mix up together, like water and oil. This would never mix up with nature" and others.
The thing is, art is a subjective thing and it can be brought up to the table in almost infinite ways, since every and each people has its own takes on various different subjects.
Yeah, I think I got this out of my chest hahaha
Comparing with all Indian or Chinese people who don't like metal this crowd is nothing.
@@leandro8897 they just don't understand our culture. It's okay, there's alot about the way they live that seems odd to us too. It helps make us interesting as long as people can coexist.
@@dmytrocks it's just remarkable because this is the 5th biggest concert ever held with somewhere around 1.6 million in attendance. At the time, I believe this was the 2nd biggest concert ever held, 2nd to a concert held in Paris 1 year prior that had 2.5m in attendance. Compared to countries like India, or China with populations well over 1 billion people, that may not seem like a lot, though I suspect it still is. Especially for western society where historically we don't often gather that many people unless it's for battle, and they were all there to rock the fuuuuuck out 🤘🤘
He was trying so hard to make them be closed minded about it and they were just cool about it

When other people don't make you feel hatred about something and you are the one to take your own ideals, you are more likely to accept it!
Many people may love Heavy Metal, but the idea of what others might think of them is what makes them reject it, because they are afraid of not being accepted by others!
That's the world we live nowadays!
Everyone is so kind and respectful even if they don’t completely like it. I love nature and peaceful things and also love Metallica and some metal.

Loved the reaction of these people. So natural and with no prejudice. Pureness
"I feel so relieved listening to it."

Exactly. This is why i hate the part about they say it's bad and used for torture, that could evidently predispose them to dislike the music in the middle of the song. Any noise loud enough can be extremely disrupting, not just metal.

Good on these people for coming with their open minds. I find their reactions were honest, pure . We are all different and many among us change often. I have no basis for this theory mind you other than myself, but i feel like metal and other fast/loud music like this has to have some sort of relation to people with anxiety or some form of ADHD. Like, your mind NEVER STOPS racing, so something else coming in and doing the racing for you helps relax us. I get some of my best work done when i have something like Death Grips, The Prodigy, or Knocked Loose in the background.

I went to a heavy metal concert (Edgar Winter) and the sound actually made me faint. When I woke up the concert was over, so I must have been out for awhile. Thank you again, Gentlemen, for your thoughtful comments. Heavy metal seems to have strong effect, one way or the other.
Major respect to the producer for guiding them through such cultural shocking topics. Most of our own parents and elders wouldn't even give any kind of metal 5 seconds of listening.
I made my 67 years old parents headbang to Gojira of all bands. That's a win in my books.
@@Lamren I'm 62 I never got into the head banging music. In my teens heavy metal was Deep Purple, Kiss, and a few others I liked and listened to, but as they got deeper they made my head hurt, still does. Your parents probably listened to the beginnings of heavy metal themselves.

What a fantastic video, it was great to watch it and see these nicest people! They are all just so positive and open to new experiences. I really liked them all. It was a bit unfair to show them the biggest concert that ever happened because at least half of their impressions if not more came just from the scale of it. And at the end of the day this proves what I’ve been thinking lately: that metal is way more popular than most would think. You are some of the most amazing and accepting people i have ever seen. Much, much respect to you.
0:27 - “I myself am heavy” and the guy’s response was the icing on the cake! 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Nathan explosion approves
i guess dad jokes are a cross-cultural phenomenon 🤣
Two of these people have discovered they are metalheads. The lady’s embracing of it especially is just wonderful.
That's cuz bheel folk music is heavily inclined towards loud percussions and heavy rapid aff beats
She is great. We could be friends. They are all very respectful.
when the old dude said ''But its amazing bro'' was class
The dude going “Wow sir wow” really got me.
The old dude saying bro is totally a metal head!! Totally
Very interesting. I enjoyed their reactions!
The split screen was awesome Rhoya/Brother!
To Parvati i say, keep playing it loud and proud!
Yes indeed brother
I noticed these people were very respectful when they talked and gave their opinions. There’s no hate, anger, cursing, racism; too bad we can’t all be like that.
Such terrible attitude comes from being comfortable and privileged.
Most of the general population is like this. Read some zen , there's always gonna be evil in the world
Such attitude you will find everywhere. Not just among the priveleged.
Agreed!
@@soundshack33These people are Sindhi. In 1948, over 1 million of them left Pakistan to get away from Muslims.
My favorite reaction video ever... I love these people
This was so great : ) and the charisma of the woman is so adorable ..
I dig the young lady who likes loud music. And also the dude who seemed open to other heavy metal. It's really cool to get perspectives from other cultures. Nicely done, sir.
Funny thing is these "tribals" are more open-minded than the narrator.
Says the woman whose arms are literally covered with metal: "I like it."
You don't say XD
😂😂😂
She plays in an epic metal band obv as a bassist
She have the most metal around metal band
She has the coolest adornments! I wonder what they are called and where they are from.
@@thebluriam they are from Sindh and worn by women after marriage (I think) and mostly by families having Hindu ancestry and also by Sindhu Hindus.
This is one of the best videos on social media
"Oh God, no one would survive if they fell in such crowd" Big dad energy this man has. I love it
As an Indian, I have wondered how the people in the subcontinent, and I mean the real people like these, would react to a genre of music so close to my heart. This is just so wholesome.
The bassist from Millenium now lives in Australia, I know him very well. Malcolm is the most lovely bloke you could ever meet. First Indian Heavy Metal band to ever exist! Is great to see Pakisthan people react to this style of music.
I love heavy metal from thrash to death to black, I've been learning lead guitar and vocals. A lot of people love metal. I'm not Indian by nationality but my dad is Malaysian indian
I know of at least one Indian metal band that's pretty popular, Bloodywood.
Check out Moral Collapse: ua-cam.com/video/ZBp0Nx_C37Y/v-deo.html
Only death metal band from India that I know of!
I do know of popular bands from India, like Kryptos, Bhayanak Maut, Demonic Ressurection and so on. But it is still on the fringes as a genre.
Not sure if they only found open minded people. But the older gentleman who didn’t like it was so polite and respectful. So cool to see people experience for the first time what we take for granted.
they were polite because said *why* they didn't liked it.. and not an occidental "this is shit" 😅
Yeah I respected that the guy wasn't judgemental about it; it just wasn't for him. There's no faulting that. I understood where he was coming from...I love metal but screamo literally affects me on a neurological level. It's not that it's hard. I LOVE Slipknot until the singer comes in then I can't turn the volume down enough. Not a criticism...that scream tone makes me physically uncomfortable. It's like it's in my genes to get away from it. I can imagine this guy might have felt similarly about Metallica.
Thank you for this great reactions. I love you all people. Such a great personalities. And I wish I could be in this concert personaly. Born in 78, I listen to Metallica since I discovered it in 1985 thanks to my cousin, who was metal guitarist. :)
I am loving all the music from your culture I pick up along the way. Thank you.
“Everyone likes Metallica, some people just don’t know it yet.”

Metallica was my 1st favorite rock band .. almost 20 years ago. They had a hand in shaping my life.
same for classical music lol
@@talos_x9295 True just remind people that the Dark Souls soundtrack is classical music lol
@@matthewcarson2221 yep lmao
I loved Muharam's reaction. He seemed genuinely impressed with it all - but he was so concerned for crowd safety. It was very endearing.
It was definitely justified; around 53 people died at this concert
@@itscorvid358 pretty sure what the video said is inaccurate. 51 people were hospitalized. Idk of any reports of people who were killed at this.
@@Gatchi And that was over the course of all three days. You have a city of 1.6 million people and over three days only 51 went to the hospital. I posit that metalheads are safer to be around than normal people.
Thanks for spreading the gohstpell of metal!!! Cheers from Tacoland (Mexico)!!
Though not my favorite music, this is perhaps my favorite video. Those were such hopeful times. I was surprised how much some of the viewers enjoyed the music. Awesome reaction videos. I've learned so much about human nature. At my age, that's a real treat. No reason to get old when it comes to learning.
American music, played in Russia, interpreted in Pakistan (and I'm watching it all from the UK!)
Beautiful!
This isn't just a great reaction video, but were I a teacher, I'd show this to my students to remind them of the variety and commonality of all humans.
and im reading this and watching the video in Argentina xD

"Yes it made me feel relax"
I have found my long lost brother...
We all have
Yo, Can you imagine how much fun it would be to go to a show with them! They'd have a blast!
This video is an amazing experiment. It shows a true microcosm of society’s feelings to metal: it hits different people in different ways. But despite the reasonable range of reactions and comments, somehow it all caught me off guard. How could something so aggressive and foreign sound soothing to an older Sindhi gentleman and get a young tribeswoman fired up? Clearly I need more faith in the open-mindedness of the world.
That is exactly the same thing I was thinking
Music is a quality that transcends borders and cultures. It is one of the few universal loves for humankind.
But yes, I was surprised she was into metal as well. I need to believe less in stereotypes.
I was surprised by this too - but then I reminded myself that I've listened to tribal and other music both traditional and otherwise and it's connected to something within me even though it's not my culture and/or foreign to me, so I imagine that it's something similar for these people. It's just hard to imagine that when it's a type of music that's so familiar to you!
Thrash metal welcomes you.
Metal loves everyone!
"A great form of torture" Honestly tears came out of my eyes with laughter. Bless you all.
Bless you too 🤗
If I'm not mistaken it's (heavy metal) been used by American forces just like the bagpipes use to be used on the battle field.
Me being tortured by americans after a week

@@dovahbear0 Yep, first I heard of it was them blaring Welcome To The Jungle day and night, lol.
I love what you're doing!
This video was heartwarming 😊
I was a spotlight operator for the Metallica show opening the new stadium in Minneapolis Minnesota. As I fought against instinct to climb the 100 feet of chain ladder, I reconsidered what brought me to this life decision. When I got to the top I witnessed a unique point of view 50,000 Metallica fans pointing at me. I paused and then put my right hand up in the ROCK HORNS \m/. There was a wall of smoke and screams as 50,000 replied in unison.
How was the sound? I've heard mixed things; that the glass caused issues with sound(??)
@@maxemerson6955 every surface was vibrating, my wife could hear the concert in our home a mile and a half away. it was great for me suspended 80 feet above Lars, the flame bursts got hot. When we dropped thousands of black Metallica beach balls it was like living in a heavy metal lava lamp.

Heavy Metal saved my life and is my life and to hear someone else say they want to hear all of it out there, really brings such happiness to my heart.
How will I laugh tomorrow, if I can’t even smile today?
Couldnt agree more
Absolutely loved this.
No wonder the gentleman found it relaxing. That's exactly what I feel when I'm listening to Metallica. Their music literally drives out all the negative energy from your soul.
Okay, but you KNOW she was invisioning herself at that concert the whole time 🙌🏽
Yep. You can see it in her eyes.
Trying to claw her way to the front and work her way back-stage....
Yeah, she's a freak....if you know what I mean...

It's very wholesome to hear that one guy almost instantly worrying for the folks in the crowd, and he never stopped worrying either, and his reasoning is spot on.
The music, event and crowd is not about wholesomeness, it's about rebellion.
@@evangelicalsnever-lie9792 That's just not true, go to a metal concert and you will see how calm and loving everybody is, it's pretty funny how metal fans look the most radical but actually behave the best.
@@bobfromwork Youve been to pussy concerts. I've been to violent concerts where there are always fights and arrests. ALWAYS, without fail there are fights and arrests. I have kicked the crap out of people at concerts who agressed me or grabbed my woman.
@@evangelicalsnever-lie9792 Though real rebels are metal bands from countries like Iran, where it's dangerous just to play such music. And if the lyrics are anti-religious, even worse.
Very interesting, thanks for posting. All of their reactions & comments were worthwhile. I could see myself sitting down with the elderly fellow with his white beard & turban, sipping some coffee, and talking about life & philosophy (& heavy metal!).
If only Metallica could see this video and indeed make a comment!! That would make my day.
This video is so delightful, I was chuckling at some of their comments. Awesome! ♥
The grey haired guy was into it. He really seemed to get it, aside from the language barrier. Metal gets the crazy out. Their reactions are genuine and I really enjoy these videos, please keep it up, as long as it doesn't hurt their lifestyles.
He's consistently open minded in these reviews- I'd love to meet him in person
I can feel this, too. I listen to HM when I'm frustrated, mad or angry. And it helps.
Those were exactly my thoughts... I was wondering how the frequent exposure to Western world could gradually affect their lifestyle and culture..... which would be a pitty...
