Seether’s cover of careless whisper is phenomenal
One of my favorite songs and bands. Seether is very underrated. There are several wonderful songs such as "Rise Above This", "Driven Under", "Fine Again", "Save Today", "Fake It", "Remedy" and many others. Shaun has a very distinctive voice that, together with the band's heavy riffs, make Seether one of the most consistent groups in rock/metal. Their sound is addictive.

Fun fact I got to interview both Seether and Amy Lee when they came to my town around 2008-2009. And they are both the most humble coolest people I have ever got to interview and talk to.
To this day I still have the backstage pass that she gave me.
They were in a relationship at the time of this song, but after they broke up due to Shaun's drinking problem, Amy wrote the song "Call Me When You're Sober"
And he wrote his own song about her call "breakdown" I suggest you listen to it, there a music video

I was lucky enough to meet Amy Lee back in 2011 when she was touring in Chicago. One of the kindest people on the planet. And, 1000x more beautiful than any of the music videos can portray. Absolutely LOVE that woman.

There’s a live version on UA-cam with Lzzy Hale doing Amy’s part, and it’s also incredible for slightly different reasons. But, it’s a great song.

When you understand how the relationship went and how many of both Seether and Evanescence’s songs track that relationship, it gives a heartbreaking throughline to their albums during that time period.
I remember seeing Seether supporting Evanescence back in 2003, Amy walked on stage and sat in front of Shaun a couple of songs before Broken, sitting cross legged at his feet, Cool as F. The version without Amy hits hard as well
I think it's the landscape of a broken relationship, the wreckage like a tornado that has just passed, the billowing black smoke. And the presentation of Amy as an angel with black wings and the shot where the camera is peering through a barrel on it's side as to puts the magnifying glass (focus) on Amy. Her carrying the dirty doll around maybe represents her dream to start a family? The symbolism is very open to interpretation but the song is incredible.

Maybe I misunderstand your comment, but Lizzy Hales first songs are from 2009. Amy Lee has been a front woman since 2000, she's been both singing and popular for far longer.

If all the info I know is true, this song is actually about touring and Shaun ((thr singer) leaving his daughter to go on tour, could be subtext of Amy and Shaun having a relationship but I don't know that far ahead
Listening to this in 2024 is an absolute trip. First time I heard this was off of the back of the Fallen album 3 years prior. Amy Lee is the 00's Goddess of Metal.

Oh boy, didn’t heard this song for a long, Long time. Always great to hear old songs as a surprise
I met Amy Lee at a meet and greet before a show. She was nice but very unassuming, shorter than I would have thought. But if I didn’t know I wouldn’t have thought she was a rock star. Then seeing her on stage kicking ass like a couple of hours later it was crazy. Almost didn’t seem like the same person.

Seether is really underrated band. Shaun has such a good voice, I would say he's Kurt Cobain of 2000s, in some Nirvana covers he sounds very similar to Kurt
Amy Lee and the lead singer from Seether had a relationship at one point. But had a falling out due to his alcohol use use at the time. I believe he has since gotten clean but they're still seems to be a bitterness between them.
This is true they wrote songs about singer of seether wrote breakdown meant for amy Lee and Amy Lee wrote call me when your sober meant for the singer of seether
I hope you do more reactions to SEETHER🤘🏻 I know some are going to tell you to listen to Evanescence(good music) but SEETHER is, in my opinion, better😮

Amy is one of my favorite singers and this is my favorite Amy Lee song...and it's not Evanescense! I was also influenced when I was young by my older sister and I'm a guy. Older sisters are cool to have!

I'm not sure if you reacted to "take hold of the flame" live in Tokyo by Queensryche yet. Geoff Tate had one of the most powerful voices in the 80's and 90's. He also had a crazy 4 octave range. I would like to see your take on it.
