I love that you said you didnt want someone who just tolerated your faith. I used to think that about saving sex for marriage. I didnt want a man who accepted me inspite of that, but someone who knew the value in that decision. Now Im married to him and expecting our first baby!

Your point of asking the question “Is this relationship the right relationship for me?” when being with an amazing faith-filled person is just what I needed to hear. There’s so much peace in knowing that if something great doesn’t work out, God ultimately has greater things planned. ❤️

I love how much you admire and cherish your husband and I have no doubt that he would say similar things about you if prompted at the drop of a hat. I watch your videos every time you post because your story helps me remember the intention behind my choice to be 28 and single. Never been kissed. Never had a boyfriend. And saving myself for when I am ready to settle down. I have dreams and conviction and desires that I want to come to pass and I believe that I am not ready for them yet. But I press on toward the goal in hopes of becoming ready through the work Christ is doing in my heart

This broke my heart and opened my eyes at the same time. I've liked someone off and on for almost four years now but this year was different. I prayed for someone to marry someone to father my children and support my faith. Watching this made me realize that either were incredible too young or he isn't the right one for me. Thank you for an amazing eye opening video. ❤️

Thank you so much for this video. I find very difficult not to get confused between my feelings and what I think God wants for me. It is really easy to convince yourself you're on the right relationship because of all of the emotions you have at the moment. But what I think is very helpful is the critical thinking post you mentioned. Deep down we know the answer and we need to stop for a moment, and think, and observe. I find your videos very encouraging while I prepare myself and wait for "the right one". God bless you!!

I like that you say relationships are about self giving. You are so correct and if two people don't enter into a marriage understanding that then they are doing it for the wrong reason...let your relationships further the kingdom of God and show Christ Love in the way you live each day.

You guys are an amazing couple, like to be honest to find a man like Daniel in Europe is kinda a miracle. I lived in spain a while and didn’t really find that many true convicted believers my age. I’m sure they are around, but seems like the youth are either atheist, or agnostic or just don’t care. Yes, my church had young people but they were all mostly from South America or other countries, a few from Spain, but maybe 10%. Takes deep authentic faith to stay pure and devout in Europe, where it’s definitely not popular to be. Many blessings on your marriage!

Lindsey LaVida I totally agree. I myself live in Spain and finding godly men is really hard. I just pray every day to the Lord that He sends me the man He wants me to be with forever and makes it crystal clear because honestly I'm just so skeptical now. I am going on a retreat this weekend and will be praying for all of you beautiful women of God and sisters in Christ :)

One priest once told me quite brutally, that prayer is not enough, your husband won't fall from church's ceiling.. If you want to find a man of faith, you should go in places when you can find them. I think it's difficult but if you are active in live of church (some youth groups, different catholic communities) it becomes easier (plus, you grow spiritually!). So if you have that possibility - go out and meet as many people as you can! I met my bf, when I joined Youfra, I know it exists in Spain as well :)

+Lindsey LaVida I can totally relate to this. I've been living in the Netherlands for the past 4 years. And it's been a struggle finding a godly man here. The typical dutch men don't worry about God, they won't even approach a woman. And the ones who do approach me are mostly muslim men. Some of them are of good character and do want to get marry but I won't go there. And the few men who attend my church are already married or not my type and won't even approach. So finding a godly man here in the Netherlands is like finding a needle in a haystack

This made me even more thankful for my amazing boyfriend. He's the most selfless, hardworking, Joseph-like person I've ever met. I discovered a beautiful thing : the more I'm in love with him, the more I'm in love with Jesus and the other way around. We're still very young, so I don't know if he will be my husband, but I live it in God's hands. Can't wait for what He prepared for us!

I’m so glad there are people like you in the world that can guide young women and teach them about knowing what’s the right relationship for them and not to settle. I’ve settled so much. I don’t have people in my life to guide me in the right direction quite the opposite. I had to figure it out for myself, you and people with your same goal have been a big help❤️

I tend to be a person who can be a bit overly emotional and sometimes even the girl who you described as being like "omg is he the one". In some times in life, these strong dramatic emotions can be a huge strength, but I'm finding as I grow and mature bit by bit that it might not be the best thing in a romantic relationship. I'm trying to learn to think practically and critically and this video has shown me how to do that in a way that is still loving and emotional while being realistic and practical and I wanted to thank you. Pray for me as I attempt to practice these things in my everyday life! God bless

Hi, Emily! It is the first time I post a comment on your channel so, first of all, I want to thank you for sharing your faith, experience and knowledge with the world; it's really beautiful and inspiring. Second of all, this video brought me to tears because my boyfriend is everything that you mentioned, but religious (he was raised Catholic, but stopped practicing it a few years ago). That has been troubling my mind for a while since I do love him and he loves me and he is someone that would be a great husband. He's ok with me being a Catholic, but now I've realized that I don't want someone who tolerates my faith, I truly want someone to live and share my faith with. When we started dating I never thought that this would affect me that much, but now I wonder if it's going to affect me even more when/if we get married. Again, he's such a nice guy and would be a great husband, but... what to do when he doesn't embrace that very important part of you which is your faith?
Thanks for reading my super long post.
    Greetings from Mexico!

That first point is so important! I was in a long term relationship and the guy tolerated my faith but had a very loose idea of faith for himself. A year and a half into the relationship he suddenly decided that he didn't want to be with me anymore because my faith was so important to me. A couple months later I met a preacher who I clicked with instantly. That preacher is now my fiance and I am so excited to worship God with him by my side for the rest of my life ❤

Great video and makes complete sense. I somehow had an idea that my husband was the one for me just before we dated. I was in a bad relationship at the time and he became a good friend. When i broke up with ex a while later started dating him it wasn't even the warm fuzzy feelings that made me feel he was the one for me. It was how content and calm he made me. I was satisfied in his presence. Hope that makes sense. Sometimes knowing someone is made for you is even more pure a feeling than just the butterfly feelings and flutters you feel when falling in loveXx

I fell in love a while back with a not so religious Christian... he believes that there is a God, but he doesn’t pray or go to church. I’m praying for him that his faith can be strengthen. God is so important to me and I want to give him a small push to strengthen his faith. Is God disappointed in me for falling in love with him? I love him so much but I want to help his faith. We’re not dating, but we have feelings for each other. I don’t want to disappoint God and I don’t know whether to help him or flee...

Kaitlyn Elizabeth how can God ne dissapointed when you love someone? He surely ist Happy for you, that you feel that way for someone else. It's beautiful that you pray for his faith but don't try to change him. Thats the Nature of Love, Loving someone as he is. I Response to you because i dated someone Like this for 2 years and then we broke up because of the faith. But that doesnt mean it won't Work Out. I've also seen it Work. But don't date to convert him. :) Im praying for you two

Kaitlyn Elizabeth It's absolutely fine to love someone who isn't Christian (or isn't very Christian, as the case may be). But remember that dating is meant to help you discern whether the two of you are suited for marriage with each other. You shouldn't date him if your only motivation is to lead him in his faith. You can help him, but ultimately it's up to him to develop a solid relationship with God. I'd advise you not to date him if he isn't willing to be serious about his faith, but you should definitely pray about it and ask God to guide you. I'll be praying for both you and him as well!

I agree, I liked a guy who said he would consider himself a christian because he believes in God but he has his struggles, and we all do. I wanted to date him and I probably would have if he asked, the thing was I had a perspective on him and others had a different perspective on him. I do still pray for him even though I don't see him and talk to him anymore.(just a little insight of me) what I do suggest Is pray that the Lord work in his life to see Christ and get to know him and to give his life to Christ and that your crush would be willing to to give his life to Christ. Talk about God with him and give a little examples of Christ in your life. Then pray if you should persue him and build a relationship with this guy. And if the door is closed (and it might hurt if it is), don't worry about it, that means God has someone else for you. Just seek God first and everything will work out in the right timing.... Another thing is, if he doesn't really care for it and you think you can change him just by forcing him, he will most likely bring you down instead of you bringing him to Christ and that's not good. As a christian try to pursue a christian guy because it's better for your beliefs and standards you have for yourself and it might be easier to grow as a couple in Christ but hey God is an awesome and mighty God. He knows what's best and there are special cases l, I do believe that so hey yours might be a special case so don't lose faith but don't wait forever either. And God is never disappointed with His children, so don't ever think that. God Bless you and I hope your prayers get answers soon.

Kaitlyn Elizabeth - if you are the reason his “faith” is strengthened, that facade will eventually fall. Don’t delude yourself by imagining him as the person you want him to be; imagine being married to the person he is - a man who tolerates your faith, but has none of his own. If that doesn’t appeal to you, move on. Do not become unevenly yoked.

Lynn Davis, this is so hard to read and accept. It's been 2 years and I'm still trying, how to let go? (I'm a young woman who's been in a relationship with this man for a long time)

Hi, Emily! I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on setting boundaries for in-laws and other people. My fiancé's family can be harsh, and I would love to know a Godly way to set healthy boundaries with non-romantic relationships.
