ha jokes on you when you beat WoF it spawn a big ass V that is half crimson and half corruption meaning that corruption spread is inevitable and relogic likes to screw you over!!!
The only thing I can think of is digging a bunch of 4-block wide hellevators throughout your world to try to contain the hallow and evil biome, although it might not be very effective since when you defeat the wall of flesh, a v-shape of half evil biome and hallow spawns going from the bottom of your world to the top of your world
I'm pretty sure you can't really contain it without digging loads of hellevators, but it's usually one of the first things I do in hardmode. I recommend this because hardmode ores make for much faster pickaxes and it's usually a lot easier to get lots of money for explosives from hardmode enemies if that's your preferred method. Then you can easily mine down or use explosives with a few minions to take care of mobs while you dig.
This may be unrelated, but does anyone else not use mushroom themed housing for the truffle? I used to, until I realized I'm essentially making him live in a house made of his own kind. A gingerbread man in a gingerbread house type of deal.
I find it more convenient to ignore the evil spread once I get into hardmode. Of course, I also take care not to build any NPC housing in areas I'm sure will get corrupted so I can afford to do this.

for people saying the last thing is useless, my own current world has all the crimson biomes on the right side, the same side where the hallow line intersects. there was still distance between the surface hallow and the crimson, so i made a singular pit to limit the spread of that natural crimson
a very good suggestion would be a wall of noncorruptable blocks on the surface, at the edges of each hellevator. you do not want thorns growing over and spreading into other chunks. it's a small bit of work that can save an insane amount of time later
I'd recommend stacking up some dynamite and digging the holes on each side of the evil biome with them afterwards, they're quicker than doing it with a pickaxe and that giant hole completely stops it from spreading (even if it grows vines and stuff). I would also recommend to do the holes AFTER hard mode rather than before, the initial spread after breaking alters ignores any holes or blocks, it can only be stopped when it's spreading naturally. So just contain it as soon as you can after you break your alters.
Better is to do nothing becouse after the hardmode HUGE V spawns this V is hallow biome digging is useless becouse hallow will eventually reach your base anyway just kill the plantera The growth of biomes will slow down
They should allow the mushroom pylon to work by itself especially underground, there's not enough npcs for 2 or more to make things work as nicely. Either allow certain pylons to work individually or add more npcs which would be preferred. Like crimson, corrupt and floating island npcs.

Also hope it dosent spawn in the jungle it's a nightmare to clear it out completely
The 4 block wide hole is fine...until you kill the wall of flesh, cause if I remember right, it does some V cut bullcrap from the center of the underworld, and goes all the way to the surface, which helps spread it exponentially. And some underground and surface areas that were uncorrupted before, are now corrupted. So the 4 block thing to contain the corruption no longer works.
