- Terraria 1.4.4 - 3 New weapons you MUST try in Terraria 1.4.4... Terraria 1.4.4 the labour of love update is here! And comes with a handful of new weapons for us to try. Today, I take a look at 3 of my favourites, The Wand of Frosting, The Trimirang and the Hive Five. I show you how to obtain each of them and how I think they perform. Its awesome to see a new yoyo added in the new update, I really didn't expect that!

Honestly I wish they added a new mech boss but all the stuff they added is still really really really cool
@@LimeLoaf well technically they did add a new mech boss that's around golem tier in difficulty from what I've seen. You can find it in two of the new secret seeds the "dontdigup" seed called the remix world and the "getfixedboi" seed where you have every secret seed in 1 world.

I really like the fact Wand of Sparking can be upgraded
It was op enough
Wand of Sparking was really good before and now it will be even better and you can use both wand together to apply frost and on fire.
Imagine it getting a hardmode upgrade with cursed flames/ichor, and than a post golem upgrade that uses all the other wands and a broken hero sword to craft it, so you'd need 4 wands and to kill golem.
It could inflict all the debuffs of the previous wands. Just a thought.

The hive five is absolutely a QoL item because it actually makes yoyo-only runs possible against wall of flesh.
It's possible with Cascade you only have to deal with RNG and Hungries

@@frenchfriedbagel7035 Waffle Time used the skele glove to deal non melee damage at range if I'm not mistaken. Plus it took a LOT of tries. I also did a yoyo master run - it was painful fighting WoF.
The ice bow is now pre-hardmode, and it's found in ice chests, it's pretty good, since it has ok base damage fast projectiles and auto-fire.
Didn't they add autoswing to the base game

They finally added a new option for melee players to use against WOF
Fighting it with the Night's edge is a nightmare
The new nights edge is definitely better against wall of flesh now
The new one is really good
Previously you had the night's edge, the dark lance, the fire flail you get from the shadow chests and the yoyo from the dungeon or the pre-hardmode underworld yoyo. So it's nice to get more options
Starfury was the best option in my opinion. Did a solo, melee only, Mastermode run and for me it just wasn’t possible with the Nightedge nor the Sunfury.

The wand of sparking’s damage isn’t really ‘miserable’. It has comparable damage to mid-tier gem staffs. Its problem is range, not DPS.
and honestly, on normal mode (and kind of expert) its really not bad for king slime and eoc

Yeah i've killed the eye with it multiple times and I've never even committed to a class (not that i there's much to buff specific classes that early in the game i think)
Gem staves have knockback though, wand of sparking doens't
I noticed that the chain knife gets around 60 base damage in the new "getfixedboi" seed. Though I'm unaware if this happens in any other seed but I'm in master mode.
It's just something weird I noticed, since it's a pre-boss weapon that deals early hardmode damage.
There's some odd little buffs that certain prehardmode items get in the don't dig up seed, which is included in the everything seed
In the patch notes, lots of weapons got their stats changed. If I remember correctly, the chain knife was one of the ones that got buffed. I believe its damage and range was increased. There was a lot to read through though, so I could be mistaken.
I believe the changes are in all seeds, not just the new ones.
i had that strange buff too with my wand of sparking, it dealt around 40 damage and a stronger debuff.

Love how the title says trying them is a ‘MUST’ however the actual video basically says “one’s kinda normal, one’s barely any different and this orange yoyo is pretty cool”
I know it’ll never happen, but I want to see a new wand subclass. This could be tied as well to the gem staffs, to give it more of a chance against early bosses. I have a fun idea of what weapons could be included:
-Wand of Sparking/Frosting
-Wand of Eating/Thinking (EoW/BoC)
-Wand Of Stinging (made with bee wax)
-Wand Of Burning (made with Hellstone)
-Wand Of Lightning (early hardmode dropped by the Angry Nimbus)
-Wand Of Seeing (post Twins)
-Not sure about the rest of Hardmode, maybe Wand Of Scaring for the Pumpkin Moon?
-Wand Of Mooning (Moonlord). My favourite name of all, just because it feels like something Red would make.
Right… I’m gonna learn how to make mods. It seems like a fun idea, and a good way to play the game similar to Yo-Yo’s.
Like yo-yos, it should be a subclass of magic rather than it's totally own class. They're magic wands afterall

This is a cool idea, and I think it would make sense for it to be kind of like a shorter range, higher damage alternative to staves (later on obviously, since wand of sparking and frosting are very early game weapons and are quite weak).
Oh damn for the hellstone one I have the perfect name. Treat is like the hellstone arrows - Wand of Booming! Does exactly what it sounds like it does, produces an explosion in front of you that is excellent for crowd control. Also in the spirit of the Wand of Sparking, keep the wants short range. They gotta be different to staves as they are somehow.

They are certainly aware of him, judging by what the new boss drops. Can only summon that boss on the getfixedboi seed, I believe.
I am looking forward to his video for that seed. I feel a bit bad though for the suffering it will cause him.

honestly you are one of my favorite content creators ever.
I found this out yesterday and was caught off guard by it, but the Wand of Sparking can also be sold by the Skeleton Merchant, though I don't know what moon phase he sells it on. He can also sell the Step Stool, and the Radar that I know of, so who knows if he can sell more stuff
And at only 1 gold, it’s worth it pre boss
He had a bunch of items added to his inventory. From the notes it sounded like it changes daily, but I might have misunderstood it.

This update doesn't feel like a mini update at all. It feels like a 1.5 update, only thing that's missing is the new boss.

I've learned so far the the Clown in Blood moons and Queen Bee now have their own sounds
The bee sounds more disturbing now
And the clown is actually scary or creepy
The clowns were already scary! At least they reduced the damage of their special bombs so you might survive a direct hit while already damaged. They gave the bombs sounds, I believe, so players would be able to be aware when one was summoned/equipped by the clowns.

Wand of Frosting is kinda amazing and I love it. :D
It's one mana cost makes it just like a spare weapon to use while low on mana early game, and if really early, it can also do wonders against slimes, zombies, demon eyes, and etc.
the wand of frosting is just the magic version of the flaming mace
i really love the new weapons. though theyre really simple, they feel nice

As someone who absolutely loved the boomerangs im glad they finally got some much needed love
As someone who's utilised the Trimarang to beat Master Mode EoW, it's actually really good when you can line it up well. Still a pretty hard, epic fight!
The hive five can be for two different collections: a yoyo collection, and a bee item collection

The Rotted Fork also got reworked, similarly to the dark lance

I like the boomerang it puts you on an adventure for all the parts similar to the nights edge.
Please make a flamethrower/elf melter video! The new buffs/changes to these weapons made them REALLY strong now
The ambrosia efrect is insane i havent played but dang the ice mining speed fro a gold pickaxe is insane

The Hive Five will come in handy in my expert mode yoyo-only playthrough. Wall of Flesh has been a nightmare with the Cascade.
I'm trying to make a terraria mod and maybe I want someone to showcase it and the best site for recruiting people might be UA-cam
It's called the "Terraria but better" mod
It adds tons of new stuff and buffs most of the weak terraria weapons in armor
The changes so far
Weapons:
Cactus Sword: now shoots spines that deal half the cactus swords base damage
All Boomerangs: 25% faster
Shroomerang: hitting an enemy causes spores to explode dealing 10 base damage(it's always 10)
Ice Blade: projectiles are 50% faster and now pierce 2 enemies and it also has a chance to freeze enemies
Trident: 40% more damage when you're underwater and it's longer
Thorn Chakram: hitting an enemy multiple times now strengthens the poison and making the poison into the venom debuff
Magic Missile: more base damage
Zombie Hand: a pre-hardmode version of slap hand
Crimtane Bow: 35% chance to heal 1.5% of your hp when hitting and enemy
Demonite Bow: projectiles will have a chance to be faster from 10% faster to 100% faster and faster projectiles deal more damage
Both World Evil Flails: has more damage
Blue Moon: Deals more damage depending on the moon phase(this one was quite complicated to make)
Sunfury: Deals more damage when near things that are hot ex.(Lava, Campfire, Nur-, I mean Torches) also inflicts inferno debuff if it's daytime
Chain Guillotines: longer range and now has a 7% chance to drop on cave bats
Bee Keeper: it's like the new night's edge but it summons bees when hitting an enemy, basically a pre-hm horseman's blade
Breaker Blade: More knockback and more base damage
Armors:
Cactus Set Bonus: 2 more defense
Copper Set Bonus: 5% increase damage
Tin Set Bonus: 6% increase damage
Iron Set Bonus: 7% increase damage
Lead Set Bonus: 8% increase damage
Silver Set Bonus: 10% increase damage
Tungsten Set Bonus: 11% incread damage
Gold Set Bonus: 13% increase damage
Platinum Set Bonus: 16% increase damage
(Yes, the ore armors do still have the increase defense set bonus along with increase damage)
Miner Set: ores has a 50% chance to not be consumed when crafting(all of the ores in the game)
Fisherman Set: 10% more chance to fish up crates(the whole fisherman set is guaranteed in the 30th fishing quest)
New Armors Added:
Shell Set
Shell Helmet: 6 defense, 10% magic critical chance
Shell Breastplate: 8 defense, 10% magic critical chance
Shell Leggings: 6 defense, 5% movement speed
Set Bonus: 20% more magic damage, 60 more Mana and magic weapons now consume 20% less mana
Needs: 200 shell(found by killing Shellies that spawn in the shore after beating skeletron, they're pretty common) 40 bones and 40 silk
Ice Set:
Ice Hood: 2 defense
Ice Shirt: 4 defense, 2 more minions
Ice Pants: 2 defense
Set Bonus: Minions and Whips now inflict Frostburn
Needs: 50 ice 30 snow and 30 cobwebs
Flinx Fur Coat is now a whip type armor and has 25% increase whip range and speed and adding the coat to the ice Set does not remove set bonus
I'm still adding the hm ones
Opinion: Trimarang should have the frostburn effect along with whatever the mushroom boomerang had
Actually if I’m not mistaken wand of sparking is pretty good now and not “pretty miserable”, the last time I played early game mage (which happens to be within the week) I threw away my amethyst staff as it’s dps was trash in comparison to the wand of sparking

I was pleasantly surprised when I read about its buffs in the patch notes. I won’t be playing until the weekend though so I don’t know how effective it is now. Is it Rainbow Staff level now? I’d love to have the option of choosing which one to use. And with the sentry buff added to the war table, it’ll be even better.

Hey sockteez i just found a new axe pre hard mode the axe of regrowth an upgrade to the staff of regrowth it's auto re planting trees is so convenient
The wand of frosting and sparking has a huge buff on the getfixboi seed, and you get the wand of sparking by a mimic in hard mode.
The trimerang is litterally the only weapon i used in my master mode meele playthriugh
I wish that they gave more unqiue effects to some of the other Yo-Yos. Seeing the other melee weapons get a bunch of cool changes can make them feel underwhelming. Yo-Yos still rock for bosses though.
The new yo-yo is my favorite
Ngl I was surprised that the goblin summoner didnt get a summoner drop it has every main class weapon type but a summon item

Oddly enough, obtaining the wooden boomerang was the toughest part of getting the Trimarang for me. It just didn't appear in any of the surface chests I found early on.

I think tombstones can kill enemies similar to boulders, at least I think they can because I've killed enemies after death and it looked like the tombstone killed them, maybe only in the get fixed boi seed as that's the only world I've made since the update, anyway, keep up the good vids!
