That last 1% on the Tab S8 lasted a whole 40 mins. WHOA
The battery percentages shown were not in real time. That last 1% was actually like 10-15%

I have a Tab S8, the battery is great. I maxed the charge to 85% and it took me 2 days of normal use to make the battery 30%. So it's about 27% usage per day with about 3.5 hours of use on gaming and watching. That's a really great battery.
how much screen on time are you getting ? I get around 5 hrs of normal usage with 35% brightness

I'm trying to decied which tablet to buy the s8 or the s8+. If you are able to change the refresh rate from 120hrz to 60hrz how much longer will the battery last? I mainly read e-mails and play games on my tablet before it went back after 3+ years of owning it.

I probably should have spent 200 less and bought the 11-inch version, but I really wanted AMOLED, but I think the TFT version isn't really bad either, and yes, you would have a better battery and I have my old one anyway was 10.5 inches, that was the S4, so the size would have been better too. Would have been the same. And that's no longer a headphone jack and the fact that you now have to buy the charger yourself is bold without end anyway.

I was worried about getting the s8, but it's excellent and just the right size for my use case. I still have that "what if?" Feeling but almost every time I compare it to the others I come back affirmed that I made the right choice.

Now Samsung ist really competing with apple in the tablet market. Sure more optimized apps on the ipads. But the performance of the tab s8 and even s7 series is more than enough for general tasks like searching the web , media consumption and note taking. The battery life is much better than the ipads. 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. Stylus in the box so no additional money for that. High resolution amoled screen. better aspect ratio (more of a taste but yeah for not taking not bad at all and better for watching content) and Samsung Notes is really the best note taking App. Makes sense considering its an App Samsung made themselves and also considering the experience Samsung had over the years with their Notes series. I study CS in Aachen, germany and I did not expect to see so many of these tabs everywhere.

Android has 900,000 more apps than iPad (2.8 million to 1. 9 million).
So it is impossible for iPads to have more optimized apps...
@@RK-um9tu More apps is does not mean all of them are optimized. Twitter for example is better on ipads because of the better use of the big screen. On the tab its just a scaled up version of the smartphone one. I'm a Samsung fan and user myself but I have to admit that Ipads do have more pro apps. But yeah for general tasks, its more of a tie.
@@RK-um9tu "optimized" means that all apps only have to be coded for a very specific/small variation of hardware-OS combination. In this case, Apple's own chipsets and OS vs Android where there a unlimited number of variations and combinations from each different maker that makes it impossible to optimize, unless there is a special exclusive deal between the Android phone/tablet maker with the app developer..

Do you use and recommend any sort of screen protector for the S8? I always use it on my phone (and this is going to be my first tablet!), but I'm concerned it could affect drawing with the S-Pen.
I don't think it would affect it. S-Pen has a soft tip which gives a paper and pen feel. As long you aren't buying a matte screen or any paper feel screen protector. It would ruin your S-Pen tip much faster. (I have used S7+ Plus before).
If you need a screen protector, you could get any normal one. Again, make sure it isn't matte nor any paper feel screen protector.
@@OGUKooper i havea question , when you use S-pen your palm will be on the tablet screen right ? will that smudge your screen if you does not wear matte screen protector ?
@@waffleisnice IMO. It depends how greasy your hand is. If you are worried about smudges on your tablet screen, you can buy an artist glove for like $10. Then you can avoid any smudges. It allows your palm to glide through the screen.
Hey I had a question: I saw a video the other day of Samsung installing software to limit the performance of the processor in phones to make the battery last longer and less heat to be generated. You mentioned geekbench which gets whitelisted by Samsung to not be throttled. Does Samsung do the same on the tablets and do they do it differently on the various versions of the Tab S8? I think they ran a geekbench or other benchmark tool, then renamed it to the name of a game and ran the tool again which showed a lower score. I'm curious what will happen if you do a similar thing on the Tab S8's.
Basically, as they have been exposed, you can now able/disable the option to your liking

@@bdeheer on the phone, not sure whats it called but yeah basically it's a toggle in your phone's settings
@@bdeheer you could toggle it by going to game booster settings and then go to Labs, it'll change the performance management. Becareful as it will kinda drain your battery a lot
I got the S8 Ultra, I'm loving the battery on it so far, but the screen size is the one thing that sealed it for me since I make logos in my spare time and it also helps me with doing my college work
How would you say the battery life is on it so far?

Very interesting video as usual. Do you charge your devices fully to 100%? I watched a technical video (Ralph S Bacon) recently and he was designing a charger but limited the charge to 90%. When I looked at the charging menu on the S8 which I purchased a couple of weeks ago, I noticed there is the option on fast charging to limit to 85%, which it says will give longer battery life. I selected this option, what's your thoughts?
It will give you more battery longevity. If you can make it through a full day of use with 85% and plan to keep your device for a couple of years just leave it enabled

You can lock the charge to 80% which is great. It’s not like apple where they slow the charge, it’s completely done at 80%

Just get a cheap bluetooth keyboard like logitech K380 because there aren't any good quality keyboard cases apart from the Samsung ones

My S8 Ultra is great. I was afraid the screen would be to dim. The screen is awesome and colors vibrant. Every time I think the battery should be dead, I'm still above 30%.

@@fw_gamer2777 You can expect anything you want, unless Samsung or Apple figure out how to cheat or bribe the laws of thermodynamics it's not possible to charge significantly and efficiently.
I have a question about the charger. I feel that charging devices at 20 watts is very tiring for the internal battery life, since I have an iPhone and I charge it at 20 watts, and I see that the battery life is significantly reduced. Is the tablet’s performance or battery affected quickly if I charge it at 45 watts? Because I'm thinking of charging it at 20 watts? I own a s8+
I don't think that 45 watt charging will significantly affect you tablet's battery. Just enjoy your device and wait less time with fast charging, do not limit your device's capabilities.

ipad pro but buy it from apple refurbished store. They replace the battery and the outer shell
before the video started im assuming s8 would win although it has a smaller battery, the reason for it is because the screen is small, that's the main reason why it can hold long unlike the two. as a tab s8 ultra user and been using it for almost 2 months what I can say is that it is the best tablet you can buy out there, worth every penny

I am planning on buying one of the tab for using it as a second screen for my surface laptop go and watch youtube. Should I go for the 8 or the 8+?
If you are just using it as a screen I almost wanna say get the plus because that's the main upgrade between the two but this seems like a lot to spend just for a screen and no other use case.

Get the ULTRA. You won't regret it. I found it on a local graigslist aff for $900. It's the 256gb 12ram model. Worth aboit $1300 msrp with taxes .
I think the battery life is more than acceptable on all of the versions but expected the ultra to fair the worse due to its screen size.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've had 3 of them and have had no issues.
Mine is fine. There may have been a batch that got through QC un-noticed but I understand Apple are replacing them with no questions asked. So just go to a store or online.
I was worried cause the battery life, but Overall I'm very happy with s8+
Mine looses 10 to 18 percent charge per day when not using. The battery menu shows the top consuming app used 0.6%. That's terrible. Anyone has that problem ?

I watched this video, didn't leave a comment but went to a shop to try them out, and I end up going for the S8+ for few reasons
1. Super amoled, especially when u have them next to each other to compare, u really feel they're 2 different levels of products.
2. It's the closest size to an A4 document, it just make me feel right, for my daily work I quite often need multi tasking, mostly 2 apps at the same time, S8 feels a bit small, ultra is too massive for my need
After 2 mth of usage, I wasn't bothered by the battery life at all! I use it for work, 8hrs a day, mainly demonstrating to my clients, some drawing, some demo videos, football highlights in lunch, zoom meeting, etc etc
most of the time set to 40% brightness, rarely need any higher.
For this kind of usage, I only need to charge it once every 2 days, if it wasn't so busy, I can get up to 2.5 to 3 days
Overall, I'm really impressed and happy with my choice without any regret

Funny that you mention the A4 size, because one of the reasons and thinking about buying an S8 Ultra is because of the screen being similar to A4 😅
If you put in in portrait mode it's basically an A4, in fact the screen area is only 2% difference of an A4 sheet area, while having very similar ratio 16:10 vs 14.1:10
What is the battery life of the s8 ultra now? And how how would you say it compares to the ipad pro 12.9? I've been going back and fourth constantly between the two
You can expect 10 hr average for both Ipad pro and s8 ultra for mixed usage (Browsing and watching movies) and brightness set at 150 nits. Airplane mode can help as well to prolong the battery drain a bit. Ipad pro 2018 model can give you little more battery life (may be up to 12 hr)

When it comes to gaming, i prefer android tabs compared to ipads, ios are very optimized when it comes to apps but ipados is optimized seperately, some games are somehow low on fps. On my ipad mini 6, some games are still not optimized that the screen issue is still aint fixed. Glad that it was fixed on genshin but some games still have an additional black bars when games are played on landscape

Provided you recharge at Changi, any of these should last the extended trip.
Great test but I think you should've thrown S7 and S7+ in there as well or some of the new ipads just to see how the S8 series compare to other tablets.

I returned mine. White was yellow and screen smearing during regular site scrolling was unacceptable. Battery was really good.
It's not really that bad to me until I turn on the eye comfort mode, although you could change the intensity in the settings so it's not too yellow

The s8 is the one I want, the + is just a bit too big and the ultra is way too massive, as I want to use it for note taking and drawing.

just got the s8 a couple weeks ago for school. it's definitely the perfect size, the display is great, and the battery life is a HUGE plus. I've never killed it even after studying all day with the screen on the whole time
I use the S8 Ultra daily for drawing and note taking. It is absolutely brilliant. It feels about the same weight as the iPad Pro I switched from so it isn't cumbersome at all. I am a bigger dude though so it's length isn't really a bother to me like it may be for others. I also wanted more RAM which was another reason I chose the Ultra. The way ClipStudio paint seamlessly allows you to use your phone as the color palate and brush menu and the tablet be just the canvas is really nice.

Yes, you can set it to 60Hz on all three.
I bought the S8+, and it has heating issue and throttles a lot.. even though having latest SD chip, it doesnt utilize it to its full power..
I use to record game videos and edit them lightly by cropping them.. it starts heating quite a bit.. and once gave me notification also that the device is heating and disabled some functionality.. its been only 6 days..
Omg can you elaborate a little more? What exactly where you doing and for how long before it got heated and gave you the warning?

@@vedantchatterjee9798 I was recording my CoC attacks with AZ screen recorder app, replaying the attack holding the tablet screen still without interacting anything else on the screen.. I was like recording 4-7 attacks back to back, each of around 3min duration.. then suddenly some blue color started coming at the bottom of the screen, a bit later got the notification that device heating and it switched off wifi and the game
I also did a Geekbench score came out 700+ on single core.. :( maybe due to throttling.. please note i have a cover on my tablet so it could also help in heating..
@@1996Rohitoo7 NOO are you serious? I used to record CoC attacks with my Moto G3 like 6 years ago with no issues. You weren't even recording a demanding game like CODM or Genshin or something and it already overheated and throttled. This is the only concern I have, I'm still deciding where to buy the S8+ or the iPad Pro but Snapdragon chips are so unreliable man,
I got the s8 the display is worse then my s5e. Why would they put an outdated display on a premium tablet. I am thinking of returning it but i like the size wth samsung. I might get used the the size better then the display

Whoa! I was contemplating on the s8+ and the s8 and happy to get the latter. It's so portable and can fit in my peak design everyday sling 6L
yeah dude. I got the s8 tab+ and now i could have saved so much if I knew the battery life was a lot better on the s8 tab
@@sonofage to be honest.. S8+ still does almost 9 hours! You can't just compete with a Super Amoled 12.4" screen v the 10.4 LCD.. it is just on another level. So you still have the better Tab!👍
was s8 ultra on 120 or 60 hz in that video?

Tablet ultra looks amazing even it could have a better battery but I love the tablet anyway , I want this tablet 😜😍
