Magda Chlebicka just because it’s the title track of the album doesn’t mean it was a big hit or appreciated as much as it should have been... it was not even released as a single like Hangar 18 and Holy Wars was... so yes, it’s an underrated song

Nick Menza came up with the idea for it and Dave finished it off. Not up to the standard of the rest of the album but still cool.

Love this album. I was lucky enough to see them live in '92 with the best line up of Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, David Ellefson and Nick Menza. Oh yeah and Pantera were the support band.

I always thought of Dawn Patrol as like an intro to Rust In Peace. It has a backwards cause and effect thing going on, where Dawn Patrol is the result if the warheads don't Rust In Peace.

Dystopia. Peace sells is my 3rd favorite album of all time but I think he will get more out of Dystopia because of the differences and similarities to Rust in Peace.
And thats the right way to listen to metal music. Hearing the full album is a must to grasp what a band can offer and see how good they can be in different songs.
saulo Andrioli yes and no i often go and listen full albums If i have heard 2or3 tracks that im invested in but of course sometimes albums give you even greater contrast of single song but sometimes bands have way too diffrent style in song on song basis so whole album might not be in my taste so i want few great song as base before i took a deeper dive in bands catalogue
But sometimes you dont like the entire album, just certain songs that you enjoy. That's how I feel about bands like Starset, I love their entire second album but their first album only has 2 or 3 that I like and I've played the whole album back and forth. So what you're saying isn't always the case
Depends on the band, but for megadeth, the full album experience is absolutely necessary
I struggle to find albums I can enjoy listening to in full, but this was an instant favourite. Not a second wasted.
I say do the entire Metallica S&M album (both disks). Hear great live favorites and also enjoy the classical additions and 2 new exclusive tracks. Then stop with metallica for awhile.. I could make lists... but everything like pantera and iron maiden are being plastered all over your comments. If you want to hear something drasticly different listen to Zao and Extol.
A technical masterpiece, front to back, the best thrash album every made, Dave Mustaine and Marty Freidman, a match made in guitar heaven.
I honestly think The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and this song are a couple of the most mind blowing finales to classic metal albums.

Great you did this! You make me remember the first time I listened to this album when it came out. Megadeth was already my favorite band so you can imagine how I felt with this album. Thanks for bringing back those memories and for reminding me that Megadeth is great, and is still great for new generations.
I havn't Dawn Patrol for 10 year's and yet i remember every word as though it was only yesterday.

I remember buying this disc when I was 16 in the early 2000's almost as I was doing it secretly. I felt just like you when I finished it. Dope. I could never get over it...
Had a great time watching these vids of you covering Rust in peace. I bought this on release back in the day and since I’ve heard it hundreds of times and I never get sick of it. It’s a fucking masterpiece!

You definitely need to do more album reactions:) there are few things that need to be listen in complet: Pink Floyd - dark side of the moon, Tool - Latelarus, Metallica - Master of Pupets, Pantera - Cowboys from hell.

Excellent choice for your first album reaction. One of the true metal masterpieces. Not a bad song on it. In one of the videos you mention Dave's voice. Im not a huge fan of his vocals on the whole but his voice fits very well in certain songs. One of the things that makes the album so good to me is that his voice works in every track on it.

Megadeth and Judas Priest toured together for these albums. Saw both at the Kingston Armory, in January,1991, finals week senior year of high school. On a Wednesday, the night we declared war on Iraq. Dave dedicated Holy War to Saddam Hussein, shoved it right up his ass! 6 hours later I was taking a midterm in Physics!
I'm grinning watching you experiencing this album for the first time. Love seeing your joy which we Megadeth fans have felt for years. This album is 28 years old and it hasn't aged one bit. \m/ \m/

Polaris was the first nuclear weapon for the submarines, if deployed it would have been a first strike weapon, flight time under 8 minutes. Since you love the harbingers of thrash metal, you should try Testament "Practice what you preach" or Overkill "Evil never dies

That NIN downward spiral, and Pink Floyd the wall are all themed albums that have to be listened to in their entirety to appreciate.
Also alot of The Sound of Thunder albums tend to tell stories.

Best metal album ever. I honestly think you get more from the songs in context of the album on this one than you do as individual tracks. Like Tornado of Souls will melt your brain but after Lucretia it's so much more intense.

Just a note: My Creation is a bonus track that was previously unreleased. It wasn't part of the original Rust In Peace album. The original release ended with Polaris. EDIT: you figured it out at the end lol
Dawn Patrol and Five Magics demonstrate perfectly that it's alright to take the album slow at times, and in the right way. One of the few perfect albums in existence, glad you enjoyed it!

Like the idea of an album review. It is one of the great albums. Future suggestions the downward spiral by nine inch nails, as an album the songs or so much more impactful, particularly hurt. Then simply because it is a personal favourite burn my eyes by machine head.

If you're going to do a full Album again, I'd definitely recommend Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche. It's a concept album that can hardly be listened to any other way than straight through.

From the comments it looks like people want more full albums, but they're all suggesting obvious ones. Why not do an album you're unsure of? Maybe, if I may suggest, Shadow Of Intent - The Reclaimer. Amazing symphonic deathcore band that you'll love. Just give it a try and you won't be disappointed
