same here, first time i heard it was after the death of someone i had lost touch with for 3 years and found them on myspace and then they passed away in a car accident a day later
This song always makes me cry, man. I highly recommend hearing some more of Black Label Society, though, they've got some real bangers. Fire It Up, Suicide Messiah, Southern Dissolution, and Riders Of The Damned are all good choices.
Riders of the Damned is a great song. Suffering Overdue, Blackened Waters or something really heavy like Superterrorizer would be cool to see on here too
Because of your channel I’ve listened to some music I never would’ve even considered before. For the last 10 yrs I’ve been battling manic depression, and suicidal thoughts after my marriage fell apart, and you’ve helped me see there’s still a journey out there to look forward to. Have A Dope Ass Life Alex!
Peter van den Heuvel cool! What's the reason for not using a capital letter for van or den? Just the way it is? Or is there a reason? I'm just genuinely curious about it.
@@Surfdoggin80 you’re a lucky man. I seen them live in the 90s during the vulgar tour. Simply the best concert i have ever been too. Black tooth brother
The absolute irony. A song about losing a close loved one. And today I found out my grandfather passed while I was at work. This really helped Alex. Thank you man
Tyler Pease, So very sorry for your loss! I have buried everyone I love by now & in the words of "Queen Lagertha" , "I am surrounded by nothing but ghosts." I truly wish you & your family all the best. Peace.
Hey Alex I've commented on your videos before about this. Dimebag Darrell was one of the only celebrities I ever shed tears over. I literally worshipped that guy he was the one that made me the guitarist I am today. I have played guitar for 23 years and if it wasn't for Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing I don't know if I would have played as long as I have. He was truly an inspiration to me and I bawled my eyes out when that man died. Especially when Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde wrote this song it tore me apart. Thank you man for doing a reaction to this video in my opinion the best reaction video you have done yet. Thanks again mate. Cheers.
If you do Black Label Society again, do like Stillborn, Destruction Overdrive. Like dont get me wrong Alex Hefner, this song is an amazing tribute. But it doesnt do Zakk Wyldes shredding justice.
I needed this song today. My friend got run over and killed on my birthday. I talked to him just hours before his death. "Happy birthday, man, I'll see you soon." R.I.P., Ryan.
This is the first time I’ve heard this it was super emotional... great choice.... you should definitely listen to Stillborn by Black Label Society... it features Ozzy Osbourne on backing vocals and it is just riff city
Bro. Thank you for reacting to BLS. His vocals and guitar skills are phenomenal.. anything Zakk Wylde or BLS wont dissapoint. This is pandoras box.. he is a true master of his craft.
Iyam Sam agreed . I started being a fan of his heavy stuff.. aka 1919 eternal..then I bought hangover music volume 6. Took a while to grow on me but now I think I listen to just as much slow stuff. My new fav is lost prayer..the guitar solo is a bit of a change bit it's amazing and still all zakk

Amazing reaction, yet again! Zakk Wylde is definately my favourite guitarist of all time (we named our kitten after him at the end of april when we found him). You ahould also look into Suicide Messiah by BLS its about heroin addiction and you can hear it as you listen to it, its one of my favourite BLS songs and it gives me goosebumps all day after listening to it. Keep up the amazing work my man. I know you said you don't want to shoehorn yourself into reaction vids alone, and even though thats why i subscribed, I look forward to all kinds of content you create. So heavy, yet not heavy sounding. I made a cross drum-prop for Black Label Society with Dime on the little banner to help ease the pain for Zakk. I knew how close they were. And he put it on his drum-kit for years. This is an outstanding metal band. My favorite. Heavy, then mellow. Like cereal in milk, crunchy then soft! Lol

I wish there were words to describe what this song means to those of us who grew up rooted in this period of rock/metal. I remember EXACTLY where I was and what I was doing when Dime was killed. It was like losing family for so many of us. I also remember driving south on RT. 1 in Rehoboth Beach, DE, driving my massive Ford Bronco, when this song debuted on the radio. I had to pull over because of how powerful it is. Zakk Wylde is the last of the Mohicans, out there keeping this type of music alive. God knows I'm trying to keep it going through my music. We need more people like Zakk and Dime in this world. Great review, my friend.
I remember back in the day my buddy's favorite guitarist was Dime and mine was Zakk. One day I got a call from another friend saying that he got a goodbye text from him and a group of us flew out to try to search all of his haunts. I plugged my iPod into my car on shuffle and this was the first song that came on. Absolutely killed me, but thankfully he ended up being found and was resuscitated and saved, then overcame his addiction problems. I always remember that night listening to this song though.
Thank you for not sropping throughout that song seein all the images of dimebag was like seeing a ghost he was is and will always be the greatest guitarist to ever live RIP Dime
My mom bought me the album this song is on awhile back, and this song always makes me tear up not only about the sad and evil way that Dime left this world, but also because my mom passed a few years ago and it means even more to me now.
Met Zakk personally and watched BLS play live in Dallas “the dimebag chapter”. Dime was from this area. The crowd began chanting “dimebag” at some point. I think Zakk enjoyed that energy.
One of the most emotional and powerful songs I've ever heard, and it's my go to ugly cry song. It's so raw... It's just beautiful and haunting... Totally worthy of St Dime... Thanks for doing this, it gets overlooked a lot.
2 weeks before Dimebag was taken from us, he stopped in a little town called Poplar Grove, IL. He came into a bar in that little town called “The Grove”. He sat there with the small town people and drank with us all. Dimebag bought everyone a round. 2 weeks after I met him there he was stolen. I still can’t believe it, and I can’t believe I just happened to be in that bar, on that day. R.I.P. Dimebag

There is a 15 minute long version of this song live. Used to be on UA-cam but now it's not, but you can see it on vimeo. It's worth a look, I promise you.

Alexandra Ionescu you should listen to the bleeding by five finger death punch
