Do their feeder roots invade septic systems? How far away must these be planted from septic field drain lines? Thanks for this great video on moving crapes.
That’s a loaded question. Depends on how close. Crapes are a fibrous plant and very forgiving of done at the right time. Mid fall to early mid winter is the best time. The roots will build even though the leaves are off. You would not want to do this if the ground is frozen or will freeze within a 2 weeks of planting

I dig the hole first, then dig out the tree, then set it in the hole, usually without getting off the backhoe.
