Wow… to be honest I almost skipped over this video when I first started watching it cause y’all seemed a little wild in the intro and I wasn’t sure how comprehensive of a review this was going to be 🤣 however, I’m here all the way at the end now and I gotta give you guys some serious respect, that was honestly a better organized and executed review and comparison than a lot of the big mainstream UA-cam gun channels do 95% of the time. I’m subscribed now, excited to see what you guys put out in the future!

I appreciate you two comments! I was between the Nighthawk, Stacato and Atlas. Once I found a Stacato XC DVC (version 1grip) w/ 3, 20 round mags. I was sold. But, your right it’s all about preferences and I appreciate you video.

Very detailed review. I've always been a fan of STI who is now Staccato but for the same money, they don't have the hand fit & finish that a Nighthawk has. In the close ups you can see quite a few CNC & machine marks on that Staccato that isn't on the Nighthawk. In Australia these are comparatively priced but being a details guy (working in Quality Assurance for 20yrs) I'd pick the NH & I think it's at a different level of build. That being said....I love that Staccato Black Tie look more & the different finishes on the slide (satin & brushed) look killer. Great comparison 👏
Both awesome guns I am between nighthawk and atlas maybe chambers but I'm not patient some of these guns take forever to acquire

honestly wish you did a side by side shooting comparison. Great job pointing out the physical differences between the 2 guns, but how do they shoot? Is one more accurate than the other? 10 yard and 25 yard comparison and also timed and untimed at those distances. If a gun looks pretty but isn't as accurate, I want the one that is easier to shoot, more accurate, easier follow up shots etc.

The video I never knew I needed from folks who look like me none the less. After purchasing a Staccato P I’m looking to assent to the next level. After playing with the TRS comp today I think it’s the ticket. Much love, keep it up.

When I first started watching this vid., the intro and particularly the music and long run time, I started to bypass it. Very glad I didn't!
For once, the actual craftsmanship of the guns was spotlighted and the differences were gone over with a fine toothed comb.
Very impressed to finally see a review that looked at very important features that are usually skipped or completely ignored as the reviewer misses the fine points. Points that many sadly have no knowledge of. These folks really pay attention to the finer points that are so important, but usually completely missed.

I have a Staccato XC Duo and C2 Duo for Carry. I dont like the trigger on the staccatos at all. I just commissioned a Atlas Nyx V2 for my carry.
I own both and would still take the XC over the trs in terms of value. The stock grip on the trs is terrible and too slick, but if you’re willing to spend the extra money and get a PT evo grip for it, then the trs becomes very hard to beat. Adding the Warhawk serrations to the slide on the trs makes the gun look and allow for a better grip when racking the slide and performing press checks. Granted, the trs was $6500 vs $4700 for the hard chrome xc, based on value alone it’s XC all day. The XC grip is garbage and needs to be redone. Sending it to darkside precision for a stipple job definitely improves the the grip and is worth the $300. That brings the total of the XC to $5k, but still less than even a base level trs comp. As far as fit and finish and shoot-ability I’d give the nod to the nighthawk trs. I think the trs shoots 10-15% flatter than the XC. Both great guns and you can’t go wrong with either. Neither of my XC’s, or DVC-P have slide play like in this video. They are right as a drum. I have had zero issues with my DVC-P, XC’s, or TRS comp. Great video break down on these two, just subscribed and looking forward to more content.

Excellent video and review! Really appreciate the attention the detail that you mentioned. I have the XC and noticed it does not have all of the blending that my wilson 1911 has and would have appreciated if it had come with it at 4k!
A couple things: I wouldn't drop the slide on an empty chamber on a custom 2011. Also my XC has zero slide play and has never failed to lock the slide back using staccato mags. I don't run the mbx mags. I have about 2k rounds through mine.
Good vid but Staccato CS is A1. I was doing a military move and they literally got me my gun in under a week even with the 60-75 day lead. No questions asked.

Update: Just finished watching. Excellent video! Extremely informative. I love them both. I think that I’d have to agree with Pewologist. I need those front serrations. And for that particular purchase I would want the magazine well too because I’m not gonna carry it concealed. It’s too big. But with an outside the waistband holster in an open carry situation (which I only do at a gun range or working outside at home) it won’t matter. Great video though! Both of you did really well! I agree with most of your commit except, you stating it to big to conceal carry. with the right holster my XC just disappears. I'm running the Tenicor Malus SOL AIWB holster. man I tell you this is the most comfortable holster I have ever run. no other holster comes close in terms of comfort. no pinching or binding period, just make sure you get the holster for a 5" Full size barrel. a holster can make or break your carry experience.
Great video and content. I have an XC myself. Absolutely love it. Was looking at the Atlas but the reality is I'm better suited buying more ammo because you get to a certain point that the firearms way outperform our skill level.
I own an XC also, It's worth every penny. I don't see spending the same amount of money on a pistol as the TRS which doesn't give you the option of an RDS. you have to pay an extra $350 if you want an RDS. Thats just a no brainer IMO. Im sure the Nighthawk is a great pistol. I think the XC is a better value and same performance and has more to offer for the same price as the nighthawk.

I am wary of NHC, I had them build a doublestack trooper with IOS cut. The slide to frame was loose (like old and abused Colt loose), barrel overthroated, trigger was loose. No barrel fit. It was a 1911 Kimber doesn’t even make like that.
The COO of NHC is a rude guy. He was saying that I wanted my money back for I have financial issues.
My experience with Staccato is the complete opposite with my C2, gun is built well. Soft shooting and accurate. Their Customer service went above and beyond for me. Honestly, NHC tolerances are not any tighter or better than Staccato IMO.
NHC is overpriced Dan Wesson, everything is machined and handfinished. I know NH says gunsmiths, but with my trooper passing all of their inspections. Their gunsmiths are not really gunsmiths, otherwise they would have caught their mistakes.

What puzzles me is that you'd have to deal with customer service with either. We're purchasing firearms that we trust our lives with, regardless of price.
Nail it on the first time you build it everytime or get out of the business.
This isn't an art, it's the proper engineering, craftsmanship from trained gunsmiths and quality control ensuring it coming all together.
If I got to call you once something goes wrong, you've already failed as a gun manufacturer.
I had both the XC and the nighthawk fire hawk double stack at the same time. They are both excellent firearms. I had to think long and hard about which one I would keep, since I don’t need two. compensated government 1911s. In the end I kept the fire hawk. At the end of the day, the decision came down to do I want to have a super high-end production gun or a custom gun? In terms of performance this is a non-factor.
I agree with the issue about the grippiness of the Nighthawk. I will tell you that practically, having shot several thousand rounds through it, it has never been a real issue. At this stage the fire hawk is buttery smooth and the trigger is below 3 pounds and breaks like glass. I also have an atlas Athena and if I’m ever worried about being able to hold onto a firearm, that’s the one you go for. It’s so grippy it’ll rip up your hand.
The Nighthawk is an adaptation of the classic 1911. The XC is the new iteration of a race gun 2011, as is the Atlas.

Both pistols are top of the line and you truly can't go wrong with either!! So long as you have the $$$$ for it, of course. Now, w/o sounding like a smartass, you have to keep several things in mind when comparing the tolerances of 2 pistols in that class. As reliable as 1911's/2011's can be, they aren't necessarily the absolute best when it comes to ruggedness. Contrary to popular belief, tolerances that are too tight, can actually cause malfunctions. There have been quite a few instances of high end 1911's that have performed less than admirably, when it came to torture/pressure tests. If you intend to conceal carry/open carry a 1911/2011 or plan on using it as a "workhorse/do all" gun, a little "slack" can be beneficial.
Last year I ordered a Night Hawk Shadow Hawk commander, Optics cut, high cut grip, DLC coating yada yada yada; pretty decked out, and I ended up having a big credit at a store , and picked up a Staccatto P DPO, with the Trijicon RMR, optics plate? After my wife picked up the Staccatto, I get a call that the NH is in the finishing stages? I havent seen or pucked up either, ive been out of town for months, but i figure , as not to drive my wife nuts, Id get rid of one or the other? One a straight up 1911 in .45, and the orher a 2011 in 9mm? Excellent video

If you want the best 2011 experience, go for an Atlas or Infinity. Honestly, they’re considerably nicer than either of these, albeit about 50% higher in cost.

How was the grip on the trs??? Was it slick or not? I have the staccato p gen 2 and it isn't a great grip but it gets the job done. I should be getting my trs comp next month and I am a little nervous about the grip texture for sure! I know there are other grips out there but I would rather not have 6k into one gun! Let me know what you think.
