honestly this is a good straightforward explanation on how to tackle hunts using the in game data and mechanics. It's easy to pick and actually what I kinda done , worlds was the first installment for me. So I just treated it like a hunting game where I was like let's study the monster first hunt I don't expect to beat him first time , then just try to gather info about it and figure out what to bring to make the hunting easier. Ofc after progressing more and stuff I just started to be more intuitive and try to get some attacks after mastering your weapon , and as time allowed on most monsters after getting really good at the game is more effective to hug the head the best u could do and try to kill it. Sometimes when I was still finding new monsters I was like let's go unga bunga and bonk it until is dead :)) . But I've never been the kind of guy to look up actual value tables and stuff I never perfected that, nowadays I just stick to the head and bonk them harder with builds that allow me to take on the weakness of the monsters ( we exclude the end game gear everybody use ) .
Great Video keep it up. Would like a Video which covers how to properly build craft when you want to lern new wapons and dont really know the strengths of the weapon and how to build into the strengths and how to cover the weaknesses of each weapontype.
First time coming across your channel, I was searching for just this a few days ago. I haven't watched any of your scripted videos but this casual approach is very nice. I'm watching the suggested video now, I'm guessing this is scripted. It still feels quite natural and the information is very useful. Subbed! Keep bringing the good content. You may be my go to channel for Wilds when it comes out! Have a great night :)
A wise martial artist once said: Empty your cup, so that it may be filled In other words, unlearn your weapon and learn the monster. Then learn how your weapon can interact with the monster
In my first playthrough I just jumped in with switch axe and a lots of damage build and most important: Tool specialist at max. 1. wallbang monster twice and wound its head (While monster is on the ground attack in swordmode to load up your discharge attack) 2. Put on your Rocksteady and grab onto its head and do the discharge as often as possible 3. do the same with the auto dodge mantle (boath prevent the monster from knocking you off) 4. repeat the process So you can defeat every semi threat 3 monster without using your brain at all. Otherwise play Greatsword or charge blade on counter discharge that way you have to learn the moveset otherwise the hunt will take forever
This is some solid advice! I had to use this strategy on this same monster not long ago. I blindly started code red with unupgraded armour and basic items right after nergigante. I used up all potions and carts by the time they came, so I had to play it very safe and run around unsheathed. After learning the safe distance and what moves to punish, I actually managed to come out on top! The strategy made me learn very quickly, that dante armour and CB is surely in reach with more prepared attempts.
Let me know what you think of this more casual-style video rather than the scripted ones before!
I like it! It still feels planned out, but more laid back.

Rise has way more detailed info in its hunters notes. World just shows you the breakable parts. Other parts could be weaker tho.
