Drove one yesterday and wow.....I mean just wow. It is the best handling KIA yet. I bloody felt like I was in a Mercedes. It is one nice car. The insides are fantastic, good fit and finish and I'm not sure but it felt bigger inside than it is. I'm in the buying mode and this freaking KIA is at the top of my list! What has the world come too??? Oh and Dave this isn't that important but the rear window has an retractable auto sunshade screen.
I just got one by lease. I love it. Drives so smoothly, no rattles. Feels solid. The engine is powerful and quiet.

I did competition bodybuilding and k1 kickboxing for almost 10 years and the last 4-5 years I have let go and have had a lot of really bad times! But just seeing you really is inspiring me to get back with it! You should do a channel on fitness training! I would watch! Only I after the show, of course ;-). Dave, I came here to watch some reviews on the Kia Cadenza but your calves were killin' me bro! I gotta get in on the same leg workouts you've been doing! BTW I enjoyed the review on the Cadenza. BTW thanks for actually mentioning that the car runs on Regular Unleaded. Most folks forget to mention useful facts like that.
I like simple and well organized centre consoles, but it needs a better looking shifter.
Car is incredible. I am coming from a 2012 GL450 ($77,000) and a 2009 BMW 750Li ($102,000) and must admit, I've never felt smarter. I test drove a few cars in the 40k plus range and this car blew me away. Only recommendation would be AWD and a manual option. I love the looks I get in this car. Amazing!

That's very relevant information to know, especially considering that premium fuel requirement could run upwards of $250/year more than 87 octane. It is not a minor detail but the fact is most places will only mention it in a review if premium is needed, I've never seen it mentioned that it isn't needed.

Not only is premium gas 15 to 20 u.s. cents more expensive for us here in the USA but for your international viewers in other countries premium gas may be hard to find in some areas.
Is this going against the Taurus, Impala, Avalon, Maxima, 300,?

Yes Sir, a Lexus is. And that's a really good point. But again people may think it's way more reliable than a Kia. Maybe people who buy this car just don't mind the brand of a car and go for quality wherever it may come from, which is what I would do because, again, this car is awesome.
Just FYI...in Kia's homeland (Korea), the cars are designated as K3, K5, K7, and K9...the Cadenza sold in the States is the K7 in the Korean market, and is similar in specs with its' sister companys Hyundai Grandeur (Azera in States). In other words, the K7 is the flagship vehicle in the States, but there is also the K9 which is comparable to the Benz S series, or the BMW 7 series in the Korean market...if you thought this K7 was nice...check the K9 out, majorly undercuts S/7 series in price...

I don't think the type of fuel a vehicle uses is a minor detail considering the price difference from regular to premium fuel as about $0.13. A lot of people fail to take this into account when they buy a vehicle and don't realize how significant it is on their bottom line after they receive their vehicle.
Just because it is a KIA does not mean it will depreciate fast.
That's what the said about the Optima, yet the Optima still has not depreciated significantly.
you can get a c class or 3 series barly. this is the sive of a 5 series or larger
I think you are doing a really great job at presenting the features and details of the cars, but I am really lacking more *opinion* from you, Dave. Tell us how you like the car. Compare it to other cars in the segment, and tell us how you feel the car stacks up against the competition. More opinion from you would really add to your otherwise excellent reviews. To get a fully loaded kia cadenza compared to a similar German car would be smart, seeing as the A6 with the same equipment would be 50k+ and not as reliable.

Really nice car and all, but at the end of the day, I think the Optima SX-L ends up being a better value with similar features, and ones not included in the Cadenza like folding rear seats. The V6 is the same used in the Sorento and Sedona, meanwhile the 2.0T in the Optima will put out similar HP and just as respective MPGs. The Cadenza almost seems like a redundant vehicle in their line up. I haven't even seen one in person, and I work at a Kia dealer. If you're going to buy this car, I think you'd make a better choice with the Hyundai Genesis sedan which has more options and features, including a larger and better V6, all wheel drive and more toys like the adaptive cruise control. Or save some money and get an Optima. Great review Dave, I always enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming!
Turbo cars require more maintenance and frequent oil change intervals.
***** My 2 Optimas don't feel affordable...the LX is sporty, the Ex is luxurious. we love the option of choosing how the road trip will feel...EX usually wins!

Well I wanted to know that information because the gas prices here are a lot because I'm in Canada and the gas they sell in USA is cheaper because here in Canada the gas is about $5.00 per gallon for regular type of gas

Lexus IS base model has 204 HP V6. Cadenza is much larger and little faster.
Only prices are similar. I don't think the comparison is appropriate.

these don't hold value at all, have a few used 2014 models at nearby dealerships for 20 to 25K here in toronto
No matter how many times I look at this car, every time I see the head lights and tail lights, I think "Mitsubishi Lancer". And that is hardly the reaction they should be trying to get with a flagship vehicle.
For the dumbass that said it'll be under $20000 in 2 years, I just want to say that I just got the only one that's under $20000 and only because of the high kms. It still has factory warranty for another year, or 5000kms. Any used Audi, BMW, or Merc wouldn't have warranty left, and would be a scary proposition for a car buyer who's gonna be stuck with it for the next 5 years, or until the engine or tranny kicks out. On an unrelated note, the fully loaded model in this review doesn't have the 3rd stage passenger heat, nor the cooled seat function that my car has. I wonder why cars sold in Canada have more features than the ones in the states. I wonder what else is different.
It reminds me of a bmw. 35k is too much for a kia though. Especially with the walmart looking logo on it.

I don't know that I would put these two in the same class. There are considerable size and styling differences that I think direct them toward separate markets. I'm not so sure they would be cross-shopped very often.
