Delicious! We have something similar in Romania, made with lamb liver and meat. It’s called Drob and it’s traditional on Easter. But it’s not spreadable, it’s more like a meatloaf.

Made your recipe today, holy mackerel!! It is really good. I've never had liver, once it was cooked, I tasted a piece and decided to proceed. Two loaf pans later. You have made a convert. I'll be bragging about you for a while. Great recipe. Thank you, brought me out of my Lil oregon box.

Breakfast? Sandwiches? Great ideas. I made some chicken liver pate in the wayback and really enjoyed it. But its utility as a food item and the effort required to make and store it squelched any intention of making it again. However, treating it simply as a processed meat product rather than just as a party spread puts a whole new spin on it. Plus the recipe I used did not have all the veggies, which is another nice twist. Moreover, seeing your paper-lined loaf pans reminded me that my wayback recipe suggested lining the loaf pans with bacon slices which, in effect, produced a tasty wrap for the pate loaf. SIGH. Oh, yeah, time to rattle the loaf pans. Dziękuję.

U mnie w rodzinie robi się pasztet z wieprzowiny i wołowiny. Dodaje masło i najważniejszą przyprawa to starta gałka muszkatołowa! Dużo pieprzu , a kurzej wątróbki malo. Tylko jako przyprawa. Podaje się na chlebie z kwaśną konfiturą z żurawiny.

Most dishes are really not that complicated and may seem time consuming, but when one dish is made from leftovers of another or if you work in batches then it’s not so bad. Plus, it only tastes this good when made at home. 😀

    Ohh wow,that looks incredible!
Here in USA,young people don’t eat this,it is considered old people food, food for people with no teeth.
    They are fools.
They know not what they are missing out on.
I would like to share a story with the two of you,it is a story of my town,in Lorain Ohio.
It is a Sicilian story,it is a Polish story.
My grandfather,Giuseppe Montalto,he grew up on west 14th street.
This street, and the surrounding blocks were populated by almost 100% Italians.
And that’s how they liked it,Capish?
So,my grandfather,he was a member of the 14th street gang.
Not a criminal gang,no,they were kind of a neighborhood watchdog gang.
    This is late 1920’s,btw.
So,at one point, one of the houses on the street came up for sale.
Strangely, the various prospective buyers who came to look at it were NOT Italian!!!
    This was a problem.
So Grandpa and the boys decided to ,well, investigate this issue,by approaching a family who was looking at the house.
They were like “Hey,that’s,uh,yeah, pretty nice house,eh?”
The husband and wife, they were like”Yeah, sure,it’s a beauty.”
    The 14th street gang,they asked,”Sooo…you guys Italian,then?”
    The couple,they replied “Oh,well,no,we’re Polish,actually…”
    The 14th street gang,they said”oh! A couple of Polacks!”
They knew that the “Polacks” were fellow Catholic folk,so they decided to be welcoming.
They introduced themselves, and Mr. and Mrs. Wiezneski introduced themselves.
They bought that house, the Wiezneskis had 2 sons, and their mother lived there ,too.
One of the sons,David,he was of the same age as the 14th street gang.
He invited them to the house, they ate pierogi, slathered in butter and onions.
Apparently,my grandfather,he said to me”Jesus, those Polacks make the craziest Ravioli, they fill ‘em with potatoes!”
He brought some home to his parents, and they agreed, these were amazing ravioli, and so much cheaper to make!
My grandfather and David Wiezneski became good friends,David was the first non-Italian member of the Legendary 14th street gang, and the neighborhood soon became more diverse, with more Polish and Ukrainian families moving in.
It was no longer an “Italian” thing,it was a Catholic thing.
The 14th street gang, well, they met up once a month for the following 70 years, they slowly dwindled in numbers, over the years.
My grandfather,Giuseppe he was the last.
But old man Wiezneski,he was second to last, they were friends for their entire lives.
    🥲
