Big Guy paddler here. I’m torn between the Rewind 9.4 and the Powerslide. 1 gal difference, 6in difference in length, 2in difference in width; Pros and Cons?
The P slide is a lot faster and its narrow so not as much stability in its and you will lose some creeking ability with the pslide. It is a really good river runnering long half slice. So quick answer If want a do all type kayak stay with the rewind if want a fun fast down river surfing machine go pslide.
Those middle handles are the only thing (apart from color option range) I wish the Hot Whip and Sweet Ride would have incorporated. It definitely makes moving the boat around more comfortable. Thanks for the update, Wade.
Was funny I had my old video from few years back pop up and I watch it and was so bad and 19mins long it was unwatchable and the rewind is so good and deserved better! I took what I thought was a massive pile of Sh*t video and turned it into a smaller pile of 💩 still not happy with it but at least it’s slightly more watchable.
Thanks for the video. It helps my quandary. I have been looking to get a new boat for 1 year. I have two twenty year old boats (Eskimo cerro river runner and riot dominatrix play boat), and a new galasport slalom boat. I want to sell or give away my 2 old school boats and replace with an all rounder. I will keep the slalom boat for slalom and attaining which I love. I am actually debating between the medium rewind and the medium apex ringer. I will demo both then decide. If you have any insight comparing the remix and apex ringer I would appreciate it. I will use the new to-be boat for going on new to me class 3-4 rivers areas in VA, WV and PA.
Oh wow that’s pretty dramatic difference a all carbon half slice compared to the rewind I have not paddled the river but looks good but good luck with that thing hitting rocks
What did you think of the Rewind to the Sweet ride? I am looking for a boat atm and I really like the look of the Sweet ride but sadly in the UK I am not sure when it will make its way over. The rewind however is easy to get here.
@@WadeHarrison Great information, my only fear is on larger water (Grade 4) I may be looking at the sky a lot. Being a novice paddler at the moment (Grade 2-3) and not having the space to own mulitple boats I want to get something enjoyable across a wide range. I am 6ft 220lbs so worried the medium rewind will be too playful. I will definitely play around with the seating position as you mentioned. Thank you for the really great content!
Really love my Large Rewind at 195 lbs. Squirts and even stern stalls with a decent eddy line and good technique, but doesn't bite you in the ass when things get beefier. The hull speed going downriver or surfing fast waves is great, and I feel the additional width gives it a little more skip over features. I've seen several people >200 lbs in medium Rewinds and it seems they sacrifice alot of river running capability, speed/looseness on a wave, and comfort just for the ease of stern squirts in barely-existant eddylines. Just my $0.02.
Great boat! Love Dagger red. Best "generic" color out there. My only regret is I got the large. I weigh 215 lbs and the medium would have been a lot more playful, but at the time they were not available. Any word on Dagger coming out with the 8' half slice that are all the rage?
The one thing that has always bugged me about Dagger boats. Is the little finger nuts to adjust the bulk head. Those suckers constantly loosen up. And if your not constantly checking them. They will fall out. When you have it strapped up on top of your rig.

When you say you run the seat slightly back, would putting the seat all the way back make it to sporty or affect the boats tracking?
I think the rewind beat spot is in the middle

I say go rewind all the way I have yet to meet anyone that bought one and didn’t like it
What makes it hard to roll?
I don’t think this one is hard to roll and what makes boats Al hard to roll is usually boxed sidewalls

Well they are very different actually the sweet ride is closer to say the Waka goat or steeze and the rewind is closer to boats like the ripper 2

For sure the rewind M is better the L was just to big
Nice one dude! Can you do a steeze vs puffy steeze re-edit 🙏
If I get them side by side, I will but I don't own either of them so might be tough.

I put my own blue lock tight on mine
