I always carry a sling about 6 feet, so useful so often , using single webbing is less bulky, I am making some to give to Kayak , Canoe and Rescue Instructors, thank you, Mike
I have a very similar sling that I use all the time. Mostly for towing or recovering boats in the pool below a rapid after a swim. I lead a bunch of Class 2-3 trips for my club and it makes it so much easier reuniting swimmers with their boats. Or I use it to tie off my boat if I’m out of it during a rescue. I don’t have a rescue vest, just an Astral YTV with small pockets. So I only have room to attach one carabiner to one end. But I carry another carabiner in another pocket that’s easy enough to attach quickly if needed.
Admittedly, I’m a knot geek. A beer knot has a slimmer profile, doesn’t leave a tail to snag and is stronger. The beer knot requires a tool that you can make out of a wire coat hanger. You’ll also be able to stump anyone who isn’t a knot geek.
