One of the most useful videos I have seen in a long time. Flying on XBox the C414 AW was one of my favourite planes but now with the brilliant PMS50 GTN750 (incl. Navigraph integration!) it is practically perfect. So much indispensable information here - thanks very much.
This is excellent stuff! Thanks for putting it together. I see no more new content on your channel, shame. Crisp explanations, clear voice. Would like to have seen more
Hi. Thanks for the comment. Real life has gotten in the way of making videos but I’ll have more free time soon so I’ll be getting back into making some content. Planning on a video of the T6A in the near future. Cheers!
Thanks for this upload. Explained well and detailed. The GTN 750 is my favorite addon and I even use with the G3000 from the pulldown menu. Also, the map now has an autozoom feature.
Thanks for making this review! I wanted to compare PMS50 and TDS, but PMS50 is barely covered on UA-cam and all comparisons in forums focus on nav database. Seeing the PMS50 in action is a big help
Useful video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. If you do any similar ones, it might be worth trying to separate your voice from the background noise a bit more.
Thank you for this really excellent video - it has really helped me understand a lot of things I was not clear about - I sincerely hope you will continue your great work. I would like to thank you in a more positive way but don't see the usual "Thanks" link
Brilliant tutorial. Thanks for taking the time. I'm assuming that both the PMS50 GTN750 and Navigraph will be fully compatible with MSFS2024 and X-Plane 12 (I've yet to subscribe and want to be sure). I've just started using the GTN--quite the two-edged sword, as it's far more capable than the 530, so there's so much more to learn and it's not all intuitive.
Thanks, glad you found it useful. I'm pretty sure the GTN 750 and Navigraph will be compatible with MSFS 2024, but I don't think the GTN 750 is made for X-plane though. Cheers.
@@banditflightsimmer6446 Thanks. Yeah, I use X-Plane more for "old school" nav anyway, although I do take advantage of the Garmins for GA. Even those still almost seem like cheating, compared to the way we used to do things IRL. How many simmers (or some real-world pilots) even know terms like sectional, plotter, or E6B? I also enjoy the C414--gratifying to fly and still one of the most beautiful aircraft ever created (although I like the 421A even better--the tip tanks really compliment the look, although winglets are more efficient).
Hi, All I can say if I followed the instructions in their documentation and I had no issues. They are very good at responding to issues on their Discord server ( link on their website ) if you need help. Good luck.
Greetings. I started watching you when you flew the DA62 around the world and I learned a lot of cool things watching you. Thank you very much. I see a developer called COWS is working to release a DA42 hopefully before years end. There are some Beta tester YT videos which look very intriguing. I think I will buy it on Day one of the release. Meanwhile, I wanted to ask you a question sir. I recall you were out towards Asia and were about to make a long trip over water. You used a software tool to help you plan the flight and I don't recall which one it was. But what struck my fancy was you were looking at the winds at different heights and you used it to your advantage to altar you plan somewhat giving you more of a tailwind thus increasing your range by several NM. That's a weakness in my flight planning trying to calculate the amount of fuel I will need to cross the Oceans and making sure I have a plane with enough range to make it happen. Yesterday I encountered 50 KTS headwinds flying west across the Atlantic and landed with only 12 gal of fuel left on board. It was quite nerving and I was leaned to the hilt. If you could help me remember the tool or flight planning took you used, that wold be very useful. Appreciate it and all the good videos you do. You explain things so well, that sometimes I can just sit on my rider mower and listen to you give directions and visualize it in my mind such as I did this video a few days ago.
Hi, thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching. I'll have to check out the DA42 when it comes out. For winds, I usually use Simbrief if I fly IFR and Little Nav Map if I fly VFR, links below. Happy Flying! Simbrief: www.simbrief.com/home/ Little Nav Map: albar965.github.io/
Hello, download the cessna 414, I have the Garmin 750 version of PMS50 v 2.2.4, but I don't see how to add it to the cokpit screen, it only leaves it at the top of the menu list, is there a way to adapt it, since There is no compatibility package, how did you do it?
It is really shocking to me how much easier this device makes flying, lol. Last time I flew was the 90s and the pile of crap I had to carry around with me to do what this device can do was crazy. Now finding a LOC approach is the most difficult part, lol. The ONLY disappointing part of this mod was to get charts for a video game is $10 month. They should give us a way to use our own pdf charts instead of forcing that ridiculous service Navigraph onto us. Ended up using FSkneeboard for it, though later I figured out Lil Navmap can do it free. That and trying to grab that scrollbar, lol.
It is a great product. Yes, Navigraph is expensive but I use them on every flight. I did a review of the TDS GTN750 and they include charts for US and Canada although they are not the most current.
On the PMS 50 i don’t know what i am doing wrong but i can’t activate the missed approach. The clicking spot is gray. I don’t see any waypoint to go around. Have an indea?
I just did a flight to try it out. I selected GA, go around, and at the runway waypoint the gps went into suspend mode. I select UnSusp at the bottom of the GPS and then I’m able to reselect NAV on the autopilot to fly the missed approach track.
@@banditflightsimmer6446 thanks for your answer, but i have a other one. What do you select to go around, is it an option somewere in msfs. By the way your videos are great

By far the best video explaining this bird and how to operate her.

Hey Gumper, missed the Auto Zoom feature, have it on now! Thanks!
Extremely helpful. Learning curve immediately straightened. Cheers.
Glad it helped!
Great instructional vid. Learned a TON and look forward to flying more realistically in the future. Thanks for all your time and effort!
Much appreciated! Glad you found it useful. Cheers!

Thanks, glad you found it helpful. I hope to do a review of the TDS soon.
Thank you for this, very informative. Got the 414 in the sale this week and enjoying the plane very much. Makes a change from all the A320 flying.
Hi, the 414 is a great aircraft, hope you enjoy it. The nice thing is you can have 2 GTN750s with this aircraft.😀
Great flight and very informative. I thought I knew a lot about the pms but that was filled with useful ideas, tips and tricks. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful video Bandit, thanks for posting it

50:10 instead of direct to ... I tried activate leg to and it worked for me ... Awesome vid on the gtn750 functionality ...!!!
Thanks, yes either way works. Cheers!

Congratulations !!! Excellent tutorial. During the cruise flight, what should be the position of the auxiliary fuel pumps? low, off or high? thanks.

You have to choose a livery for the PMS 750 under the livery tab for aircraft settings. There are different livery’s for each configuration GPS.

I have go around mapped to a button on my Honeycomb Bravo throttle. Just look search for TO_GA under controls.
@@banditflightsimmer6446 thank you very much, i have the Honeycomb too so i will do what you suggest
I have the GTN 530 or similar, how do i get the 750 to replace it?
The GTN 750 is a payware addon form pms50.com/msfs/
@@banditflightsimmer6446 Thanks for your reply. IU have the paid version of the PMS GTN 750 but I don't know how to swap out the GTN 530/430 out for the 750.
When you select the aircraft, under liveries, you have different selections based on which GPS setup you wish to use.
@@banditflightsimmer6446 thank you that worked perfectly.
I turned avionics on and the screens never turned on. Everything else did 😟
The only thing I can think of is that you selected the wrong livery. The liveries are specific to the type of GPS
@@banditflightsimmer6446 which one is for the GTN 750?
The one that says PMSGTN750
