Nige is a Legend, I've had the pleasure of being on track and chatting to him whilst in some euro track days and local ones in the UK - Also a big fan of Ricky and the guys at REP. Really enjoyed this video... Cars / Bikes / Track days what more could you want from video content.. Thanks Guys
Mitch was brilliant. He was the first person I took out after it was fixed and again later in the day. He also came along to Castle Combe a few weeks ago where he spent a lot of time in the passenger seat. 👍
Being a fair weather biker I can agree if it's wet don't go out, done a trackday with a sudden downpour at lunch time was convinced to go out by someone in our garage 'you will learn a lot in the wet' he went down on 2nd corner and broke his collar bone! I went straight back in the garage 😅
Carl is always a ray of sunshine ,fun and joviality. Amazing as I would still be crying for crashing not trying to fix it 👏👏👏. Is his second car a John Deer 😂😂
Full credit to all involved. Obviously, all very clued up people. What a nice man the owner of the car is. Mitch was great helping him. What does Nigel do for a job?
The disc was cracked simply due to wear and heat. Nothing to do with the crash. But yes, new discs are now fitted once the others reached the minimum thickness.
Hall bends at Caldwell in the wet in my s4 in summer was like that, all 4 wheels let go at once until you was off the racing line then it gripped up a car’s width off the apex
I've done 100's of laps in the rain. Doesn't phase me at all. I'm just not used to the R8 yet, my previous car was way easier to drive, which as I said makes this the challenge I wanted. A minor off and barrier kiss is just unfortunate.
@pinderwagen Sabina drove a different line when doing wet laps in the ring taxi because of the amount of rubber down. When she went on line it was very entertaining as mostly looking out the side windows 😂
@@sprinterdriver4757 oh definitely. I'm an amateur, not in Sabines league, but that's what Ricky explains in the video, I was showing him the wet line and how lethal it is on the dry. The problem is, when the wet line crosses the dry line 😁
I remove the wing and splitter for the road, they are only fitted for trackdays. Some people prefer a stock car, I want mine to be better on track. Stock is unstable at high speed where mine isn't.
The fact you are asking why a car has a wing on it, and are worried more about form over function shows that you don’t know much about driving on track. He has a real wheel drive v10, he needs all the downforce he can get.
@@kevparker4604 actually I would agree if you were in a race, or out to beat records. And as above, it’s not used on the road, which to be fair was where I was coming from. There’s nothing worse than a car driving around on normal roads with a wing. I didn’t realise it was removed. It looked fixed to me. Which is a great move as they look odd on road cars.
the huge smile on Nige's face whn he said "It's a V10 normally aspirated!" 🙂🙂🙂 good vid and fair play for looking after him like that

Nige loves spreading the knowledge, which is handy because he bloody loves solving problems 🤣 Subbed!
Shout out to Mitch, he seemed to do a hell of a lot in that rebuild.. top work

Makes a change!! 😂😂😂😂😉😉😉😉
@ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 harsh! But fair

Nigel what a guy need mor e of him on your channel
Top guy, no messing around
All you REP guys are the boys, top level!!’
There's something to be said for having your own pit crew handy
It was all in the track day experience cost😂😂😂😂😂
Carl is always a ray of sunshine ,fun and joviality. Amazing as I would still be crying for crashing not trying to fix it 👏👏👏. Is his second car a John Deer 😂😂
Was magnificent to watch the rebuild. Strong work.
No messing about, get it fixed get vack out there, most folk would have definitely packed up n gone home ..... Top man Nigel 👍
That blue looks awesome on the R8
Mitch was a legend!!
Asking someone that just backed it into the armco in the wet "whats the advantage or running just RWD" is a risky question 😮😂
The answer could have been ‘its better than going straight in’ 😮
Great video and job 👋👏👏👏

What does Nigel do for a job?
Nigel is retired 😅
@Gary_Bocking fucking bricked in whatever he did. Well done, Nigel. Hahaha
Great vid guys I've known Nige many years, i was cracking up at Ricky saying he looks like a farmer 😂
Same here, Nigel would put the same effort on a Massy Ferguson, he's a top bloke ❤
Agreed, he's a top bloke who'd put the same effort into a Massy Ferguson ❤
That R8 sounds awesome on full chat!
Great video as always Rick,
One question why's lurch's bobble so big on his purple beanie?! 😂
If you are going to crash your R8 then the time to do it is when Ricky and the REP team are "on plot" 👍
Nige is mega such a lovely bloke he’d do the same for anyone else
You can't not enjoy Niges knowledge and total happiness being a petrol head
Welcome back Ricky...
I love the youtube headhold Ricky. I read it as ring damage and immediately went elsewhere..
Nice car
This is the beginning of modified R8
To be honest, the car is pretty much finished now. 😉
What a brill piece and ver knowl' owner :)
Proper motorsport, fixing it on a driveway and get back out there
Did the cracked brake disc get replaced aswell or does the type of disc not matter if its cracked
The disc was cracked simply due to wear and heat. Nothing to do with the crash.
But yes, new discs are now fitted once the others reached the minimum thickness.
R8 repaired quicker than Apple can repair a laptop 🤣
So what happens if you take the driveshafts out but leave the diff and prop in? Does that damage the diff as its still spinning but with no load?
if you have a problem and nobody else can help and you can find them, may be you can hire the A TEAM 😂😂
Sick 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Where can I buy those hoodies? Nice
@REperformance UK
On our website 👍
Main thing is you walked away the car can be repaired
Pista de audio en español gracias 😉
Should the title not be everybody apart from ricky fix my car lol
I’m the brains not the brawn! 💪

All the gear and no idea.
Poor trolling. 1/10
It's Friday..
doesnt Nige have a track golf that is a real beast on the ring...
I do!
Ricky the Chef of Muppet Show Gonger the Swedish Chef.
Ive done the ring in the wet on a bike. one lap is enough. Dont.
Maybe he needed a bigger wing 🙄
😂
👍👍👍👍🌶😎😎😎😎
The ring in the rain. Only the skilled or the stupid drive a wet ring.

How to wreck a nice car, stick an overly large spoiler on it! WHY?? 😢

@REPerformanceUK new SUB here 👋Hello, you could easily create a second channel of clips for the snippets of the GOLD, ie 9:48
Is this Nigel with the MK2 Golf GTi with all the downforce that was on Michas channel?
👋 That's me 🙂
Swear this guy has a mental mk2 golf?
Yup, that's me 🙂
🦾 Thanks
