note that for the shop, the pots of rupees at the sides mimic how if destroyed the shop walls give lots of gold, and that the "master shovel" is about the shade that would be right for adamantine or whatever, which you can get as a stronger variant of items. of course, cadence's signature "thing" is a shovel, though it isn't a weapon. 6:20's blue sword with a red gem is the rapier, which is a weapon you can parry with and that extends 2 blocks forwards. it's my favorite weapon, personally.
I'm just really interested what this means for Nintendo, giving out an IP to an indie studio isn't something Nintendo does. I hope in the future they do more things like this with other IP's.

The electric guitars on the boss remind me of Doctor Robbie in BotW, and their early idea to have a main series game based on that. I was happy they didn't keep that idea when I heard it, but it that rhythmic genre context, it totally fits! Very hyped for this one, and it's coming out soon!!
I think the weapon Zelda is seen using at 6:18 is the rapier, which she uses in a few of her depictions, mostly spin-offs like Hyrule warriors(making this weapon seem like a perfect fit for Cadence of Hyrule), and that is seen in the title screen of Zelda 1.
10:17 just noticed that that door has the iconic Shieka blue and that Shieka Slate in one clip was that color so I think Shieka Slates are a form of fast-travel in this game, possibly also giving a hint.
Crypt of the Necrodancer really is a top tier indie game with an incredible soundtrack. If you haven't played it, I seriously suggest you do! It always felt like a bit of a rogue-like love letter to Zelda dungeon crawling, so this is an absolutely perfect crossover. I'm so happy that Nintendo decided to trust their IP to these devs.
I think that stone might be a save point or a warp point. Their locations seems to be around shops(?) and dungeon entrances as well, which would make sense for save/warp points.
Necrodancer is amazing and I'm so glad one of my favorite series is having a spin-off with it. Also, something neat to note is it seems certain rules within Necrodancer are upheld here too, such as skeletal enemies requiring 2 beats to move and the slimes (Chuchus) keeping their respective color-based behaviors. Also I am SCARED of the Gleeok fight. If it's anything like Necrodancer's Lute, it's gonna be a nightmare.
At 2:36 that's the obsidian shovel form Crypt, it scales with how well your sense of rhythm is, it's the best if you never miss a beat (literally) and the worst if you are tone deaf.
3:20 the stump is also one of the stumps in the minis cap that shrink you down to the size of a picori 7:05 it also seems like the spear that Zelda is using is the same that the moblins in windwaker use
Gleeok's design isn't based on a Xylophone (Xylophone is wood). It's either based on a Glockenspiel (the small metal version of a xylophone that have piercing high notes), or a vibraphone, which is about the same size of a xylophone but is made out of metal and has a pedal to let the notes resonate like a pedal on a piano. My guess is that it's a Glockenspiel because Brace yourself games LOVES making puns out of monsters, and not naming it based off of a Glockenspiel would be a missed opportunity
I'm really liking the art style, a nice mix between cartoon animation and 16-bit graphics but the music remixes are going to be where it really shines.
This game is going to be amazing, after playing enter the gungeon I fell in love with dungeon crawlers and now it’s combined with the legend of Zelda, this is an equation for greatness
This is just so badass, i would have liked link as the hero but oh well, the movement idea is so interesting, music and enemies are two of my favourite parts of zelda games
CollieChan Subrosians? Eh, I thought it was a poe or wisrobe. I admittedly don’t wanna fight a civilian lol. (Buuuut...technically most of the monsters are beings, too. Not...weapon-wielding beasts. Which still keeps me awake at night, admittedly. “It’s a secret to everyone!” Oof.)
@@anonymousfellow8879 You're probably right :3 Maybe just a Poe then. If its a subrosian (?) youre probably just getting a sidequest from it or something. I knew nothing about the game until now, so I dont even know iy youre suppose to do sidequests
The shovels seen at 2:27 are from the Crypt of the necrodancer. The mushrooms seen at 3:21 have the same pattern than the ones in necrodancer, so it'sd be safe to assume they're from here too. I'll assume the 3 characters will use the same weapon types as in Necrodancer, so at 6:25 Zelda carries a Rapier (2 max range, dashes forward when attacking a 2 range) and at 6:30 it's a Spear (2 range). 7:00 Nayru's love seems to bounce back the lynel's attack's damage to himself. 9:29 the golden lute is an important part of the crypt of the necrodancer's scenario. It's supposed to be cursed, which explains the purple fog.
Love this game. So much. Id have all the achievements if they didn't add them later on :/. I dont think it unlocks stuff so idc. But the strongest link sword is OP. I like this better then crypt of the necrodancer, its more grounded i guess. Thrre are a few hidden other things that are major nods to Majoras Mask. I havent seen it much so i wont give it away. Just. Shop keepers can die. Thats part if it and some RNG stuff. People keep finding more and more secrets , like playing a windmill song differently, even though its always a random combo. The 1 consistent one, is cool.
The name Cadence actually means rhythm for those who don’t know which fits the game perfectly also excited to see iron knuckles again can’t wait to play
Crypt of the Necrodancer is SO GOOD. Definitely check it out! It'd be cool if the Ghasts were dark versions of the characters like Dark Link, etc, but maybe that's what the Poes are?
The golden lute is an item in necromancer, it has the ability to resurect the dead, however anyone resurected by the lute dies if the lute stops being played. And the purple fog might have something to do with the necrodancers curse which is why you have to move to the beat. (One necrodancers character even dies if you miss a beat)
I love Necrodancer and has become one of my favourite games to play on Switch... Then they make this epic crossover that perfectly matches with the two styles that I almost die because of the happiness made me feel. Strongly recommend to play Necrodancer to understand my point and because it is amazing and unique
Shovels are a common tool in CryptoDancer, for Cadance to dig for treasure or through walls... Though that one does seem to have similar colors to the Master Sword as you said. The Golden Lute is the main artifact/plot mcguffin of CryptoDancer, so it makes sense the title image would use it with the same sort of importance we usually see either The Master Sword and Shield, or the Triforce for Zelda games.
note: 2:44 that is an obsidian shovel and regular shovel from crypt of the necrodancer. I assume these would likely be used as Cadence's weapons. that's *if* they're weapons
Crypt of the necrodancer was and is an amazing game, I wouldn't expect a Zelda game but a crypt of the necrodancer spinoff or else you'll probably end up disappointed. They know what they're doing though so it definitely won't let you down in terms of quality.
2:27 - The shovels actually refer to the Necrodancer side of things, in that the shovels were the main method of removing obstacles. The shovels on display are all from Necrodancer- as we have the Titanium Shovel, the Regular Shovel, and the Obsidian Shovel. Sorry to burst your Master Shovel bubble xD 4:53 - Every boss in Necrodancer incorporates some kind of musical instrument. No exceptions, and Gleok appears to have embodied the xylophone. That's just fun to take apart really. Something else you didn't get to notice is that (1:49) in the first room in the field- the green slime does nothing while the blue slime moves up and down every other beat. 6:28 - I think the Blue sword with red gem is a reference to Zelda 1 with the Magic Sword. This comes from someone who has a fair amount of knowledge on both games.
The fact that they licensed out the big Z to an indie dev should prove interesting to say the least
Good thing there's no contest like before. We remember Zelda CDi.

I actually thought of Minish Cap when I saw the overworld. It could be a mix of all stories, as the Spin-off it is, that could be a thing.
That gorgeous artstyle!!!
The "wind dungeon" you referred to looks a lot like Agahnim's tower in the dark world in ALTTP.
I hope the game will offer more variety and difficulty, that'd be awesome
At 2:36 that's the obsidian shovel form Crypt, it scales with how well your sense of rhythm is, it's the best if you never miss a beat (literally) and the worst if you are tone deaf.
3:20 the stump is also one of the stumps in the minis cap that shrink you down to the size of a picori
7:05 it also seems like the spear that Zelda is using is the same that the moblins in windwaker use
Thats pretty cool dude! I've definitely got to get it.
Really great analysis!
Anyone gonna petition for a Master shovel?😂
Side note:The sprites and the sprite animations look amazing!👍🏻
Im actually really excited for this
This game is going to be amazing, after playing enter the gungeon I fell in love with dungeon crawlers and now it’s combined with the legend of Zelda, this is an equation for greatness
This is just so badass, i would have liked link as the hero but oh well, the movement idea is so interesting, music and enemies are two of my favourite parts of zelda games
I am SO HYPED for this game!!!
Hmm I think the "poe" looks more like one of those hooded characters from the paralell world in oracle of seasons? Would be fun to see them again
CollieChan
Subrosians?
Eh, I thought it was a poe or wisrobe. I admittedly don’t wanna fight a civilian lol. (Buuuut...technically most of the monsters are beings, too. Not...weapon-wielding beasts. Which still keeps me awake at night, admittedly. “It’s a secret to everyone!” Oof.)
@@anonymousfellow8879 You're probably right :3 Maybe just a Poe then. If its a subrosian (?) youre probably just getting a sidequest from it or something. I knew nothing about the game until now, so I dont even know iy youre suppose to do sidequests
I love top down Zelda games and albw is honestly my favourite Zelda game.
This looks awesome, and I'll have to look into Necrodancer as I have not heard of it.
it's A Link Between Worlds' Link! He's the only 2D Link that uses THAT specific shield!
Great analysis! Thanks
The bosses should be
Gleeokenspiel and guitarmos
For those who don't know a glockenspiel means a metal xylophone
4:24 I was like "a lot of huge fans? I don't recognize that building, is it really that famou- Oh, he's talking about the wind-generating fans..."
2:42 Master Shovel? Interesting but the really question is if this game has the Legendary Master Torch.
*Zelda's holding the Master Sword*
We never would've gotten this Game if without Mario Rabbids
Definitely interesting to see Nintendo license out one of the largest and well received franchises in gaming to an indie developer.
"Electric Guitarmos Knights." My life is now complete.
Do we wake the Wind Fish by defeating bosses now?
The shovel is a shove from necromancy (the obsidian shovel)
If I’m being fully honest, I didn’t care for this at first but I’ve slowly become more and more interested. Pretty excited to play it now.
Wow that is a lot and it is amazing!
I'm really excited about this out-of-nowhere game!
Electric guitarmos knights. LOL 9:59
I feel like the “wind dungeon” you spoke about may be a reference to world 5 in cript. It has an electrical theme to it.
There’s analysis, and there’s insanity.
Now I want the legend of zelda minish cap sequel with that graphic 🤓🎮☝️
I've seen others say that, and I can see the resemblance, but still think it's a poe. The lantern it's holding is a dead giveaway.
The first clip where Zelda was fighting, she was actually using a rapier similar to how she used one in Hyrule Warriors
That fire attack that Zelda uses is definitely Din’s Fire. Zelda uses that spell in a similar manner in Smash Bros.
Darn you Zeltik. I wanted to do this.
Next time!
I love Necrodancer and has become one of my favourite games to play on Switch... Then they make this epic crossover that perfectly matches with the two styles that I almost die because of the happiness made me feel. Strongly recommend to play Necrodancer to understand my point and because it is amazing and unique
Capcom nailed Zelda! Let's just hope they nail it too
Look at that beautiful pixel art.
The "gossip stones" seem to be jukeboxes, which fits with the musical theme of the game.
Lmfao, not the Master Shovel then hahahah
I just hope Nintendo is careful. The last time they let outsiders get their hands on Zelda, Link ended up so hungry he could eat an Octorok.
Sorry to burst your Master Shovel bubble xD
4:53 - Every boss in Necrodancer incorporates some kind of musical instrument.
