Cadence of Mushroom Kingdom, where Luigi gets a hidden tech that if he flosses, he becomes unable to move but instantly vaporizes anything that touches him
Maybe flossing can create that weird dimensional bubble final smash he had is Smash Brothers Brawl?
He could also do that really weird dance he did in brawl.
Certainly one of the more... interesting final smashes ever.
Luigi should be albeto use potergester as acounter/ projectile
but because it's way too overpowered, you got to beat the game on the hardest difficulty first. and without dying to a single boss
Better yet, he does nothing and every enemy on screen dies.
I still lament the fact they didn’t name ganon “organon” .
Come on! It’s a game where every other boss is a pun! Why can’t the final boss be one! And it’s so obvious too!
Came here to say this. Gannondorf even plays the organ in OoT.
@@GameAlicornLuna that’s what I’m saying! He plays the organ in one of if not the most popular game in the series!
It’s a no brainer!
If I recall correctly, apparently they did want to name him Organon but they couldn't due to Nintendo being a dick with copyright. Shame.
Maybe saying 'Ogre Ganon' could have fixed it
@@willphoenix5464 I did figure that was probably it. Didn’t want their ip being fiddled with too much. Although it’s funny to think they drew the line at renaming the series final boss for an outing.
Honestly, Maybe I should just be happy the game even exists as it does. That one of my biggest gripes is just that they didn’t make a bad pun.
@@AnimatedTerror for what it's worth, Ganon does actually play the Organ in Cadence of Hyrule, so they managed to slip a reference to the pun in there.
“Gleeokenspiel is the best”
So glad to see someone recognize how fucking *great* that theme is.
Gleeokenspiel is the main reason I started brainstorming a Zelda D&D campaign, so I can play it during Gleeok boss fights.
also Gleeokenspiel is a god-tier instrument pun
Gleeockenspiel is easily among the top 5 video game songs of all time, right up there with Trial By Thunder from the original CotN
It's imo the only boss that actually uses the music as part of its attacks... The other ones just miss that little touch here.

The coolest part for me about this game
Is how many artists they gathered for this games soundtrack.
“I’ll still have you” takes place immediately after Mario catches his lil bro flossing
Id like to point out that this game has the Kokiri Sword in it, and its description says that “a hero in the future uses this weapon to save hyrule” or something like that.
This means that Cadence of Hyrule canonically takes place before Ocarina of Time, and is also technically the first appearance of Ganon. Obviously this wasn’t intentional but it made me think about the implications of that.
Excellent video as always btw.
I think this game is non-canon.
Most theorize it to be somewhere around A Link Between Worlds
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 so is Links Crossbow Training and Age of Calamity, but they both have pretty obvious timeline placement. Just because something is non-canon doesn’t mean that the actual canon doesn’t affect it.
@@jonperez12344 Why is that?
@@theplinko9840 no AOT is canon, it splits the timeline again
I like that this series used to be comedic rants and over the years has evolved into comedic reviews. Keep up the good work Scott!
So glad that you made this vid, I absolutely love this game! I had a friend recommend me Crypt of the Necrodancer when I worked at Burger King 3 years ago, and then found this on the Switch.
To this day I still have 2 left feet, and 5 right hands and cannot play properly to keep a beat lol.
Yeah, same here. Maybe Crypt of the Necrodancer is just fucking difficult, but I could not play it for the life of me.
scottfalco spreading the truth about the game of all time
but fr, cadence of hyrule is such an underrated game and more people need to play it. buy it! (and the dlc too!!)
not to mention the various remixes of the soundtrack you can play the game to. Family Jules' metal version is my personal favorite. (only downside is that its paid dlc)
The physical copy comes with all DLC included.
Cadence of Hyrule's default music is actually by Jules. It was the first game that had his music as paid DLC
@@dastalinstarblade4618 So, you're saying the default music is paid DLC? Then what music is used if you don't get any DLC?
@@dastalinstarblade4618 the out of combat music is Danny B, the combat music is Family Jules, they made the base game soundtrack. DLC makes it all Jules or the other artists.
@@jasondare actually, no. While yes, his guitar parts are in the main games music by default, both in combat, and out of combat music is all Danny B. The only thing Jules has is guitar parts. Now if you want all of his stuff being your music, that’s DLC. You’ll still have out of combat music being Danny B by default though sadly.
God I adored this game so much. Played the heck out of it and even got pretty good at the rythm stuff even though I am terrible at that kind of thing. Everything was amazing but especially the music and I love how much post game support it has gotten through DLC and such. Definitely a game that deserves the attention.
It’s time to face both the light and music
No theme in the game will make me want to bust it down harder than Kakariko Crypt. Hearing that *tasty, oh-so-fucking satisfying guitar solo* blast in from the buildup of the song's beginning makes me want to go nuts every time because it captures Zelda so well as a series.
Everybody say thank you Danny Baranowsky
This has convinced me to finally buy it... after all the streams!
This game just holds up so well. I can never get tired of it.
Thanks for this one! ^~^ Cadence of Hyrule is such a heckin amazing game and I'm glad I got to hear a popular UA-camr even mention it!
This was such a cool crossover. I hope I see more of this stuff from Nintendo.
sneaking into my brother's room late at night when i was a lot younger to play crypt of the necrodancer was such a core memory to me. funnily enough, it was him who surprised me by buying this game for me, since he got me into both series involved.
Link was hittin that dance tho
Nice lil side of sugar. I can tell how much scott loves this game
FamilyJules did some of the music for this game and it’s a big reason why i love this game
Not quite a side of salt, but a spoonful of sugar?
I absolutely loved this Necrodancer/Zelda fusion. The music was killer, and the rougelite aspects are basically a Zelda randomizer.
Thanks for making a side of salt for this game! It's one of my favorites but you don't see much of it on youtube
I bought Necrodancer on 3 different platforms and bought Cadence on day one! The end boss (in Cadence) was a little too much for me but it never felt like I was being cheated.
Cadence of Hyrule does have a habit of overwhelming you, I will admit - though it *also* tends to give you buttloads of health to accomodate for that. I rarely beat PD-Ganon *without* using a potion.
@@CiromBreeze Wait... I haven't played Cadence in a long while. I don't remember potions. I'm going to try to play it again and see.
Plot twist. This is a prequel to the "I'd still have you" - starman video.
I'm really glad that the Necrodancer crew got to do a Zelda game! And, beyond that, so damn proud of Jules for making it into a Ninty game like this.
That wizzroboe dungeon 1F skip and use of Zelda and only rapier tells me you’ve definitely seen a speedrun or two haha
Enemies while waiting for you to move:
What’s the deal with airline food?
Luigi was never seen again after the Rhythm Police arrested him.
Danny Baranowski and Jules Conroy both made amazing songs for the game. Gerudo's track with enemies is possibly the best song on the entire soundtrack.
When I played I did the overworld segments to the fixed beat. Boss fights and dungeons to the music; I can't replace the fight against Gleeokenspiel and how the music was so well tied to the boss, even compared to the others.
“You…you’re not even moving your hips…”
You joke, but thanks to rabbids Luigi canonically dabs
What's neat is that Brace Yourself Games approached Nintendo about making Zelda DLC for the Switch version of Necrodancer and Nintendo suggested that they make a new game instead.
I like to imagine luigi can actually dance like Micheal Jackson in his prime if he's motivated.
Waluigi can
This makes me think of when Celeste collaborated with Towerfall. Two extremely charming games coming together and adding a neat new style. Except this time it's a full game and it looks awesome!
You know what they say, these boots are made for walking and will dance all over your grave. XD
Especially since these boss beat absolutely fantastic.
One of the coolest parts of this game for me is seeing FamliyJules work on it. The dude got his music start by making metal covers of music in his parent's house (a
he still does covers), but got to the point where he's worked with Nintendo to make metal covers of Zelda songs for a game! That's fucking wild! I also feel bad beucase despite this, people are gonna remember him as the guy who progammed his doorbell to play Megalovania.
Oh, that was him? I remembered that video, but didn't remember the channel.
@@rosheafan Yup, that was him! He also does a lot of other stuff, like speedrunning.
I can't blame Ganon for fearing Link aggressively doing the nae nae and creeping in...
God that ending made me think about Luigi saying, "I'm not seeing enough movement"
Cadence of Hyrule looks really fun! I have to see if I can try it out sometime.
Just try the demo!
Love how nobody knew about this games existence til you talked about it
my favorite music in this game is the default music of the gerudo desert
Great animation! Also, I didn't get this game because I'm terrible at rhythm games but I didn't know about fixed beat mode, so thanks for telling us, Scott! Def want this game now
Now to combine this with 4 sword adventures, let's us have rhythm based multi-player chaos.
"permanent upgrades in true roguelike fashion"
pain, such pain
Love necrodancer, even got the tune for the first area as an Octavia song for Warframe.
I'm just here for that adorable Zelda sprite... the art of this game is just gorgeous, those animations are so smooth...
This was a nice video. I think the title is funny when Scott really only said positive things.
luigi flossing is something i didnt know i needed
CODEKIRBY SPOTTED
i forgot that this game existed and i never want to forget again
cadence of hyrule video? and it's from scottfalco? time to do my part and boost en gauge ment with the algae rhythm!
Link plays hero of Rhyme as he's boopin toward Gannon
Surprised you didnt mention the nut crushing mode of playing as a deku scrub and dying in 1 hit while being locked to using a dagger
me: 10th time replaying the intro
me: Presses the back button to watch it again
He whipped and now can’t stop the nay nay
Coincidentally I just got Crypt of the Necrodancer on steam! I managed to confuse my family by describing it as a roguelike that somehow manages to be turn based and real time at the exact same time.
The problem I had is the anklet of the wind was in the wrong spot twice, so I couldn’t progress
i played the cadence Demo and had such a great time with it! i also played the original crypt of the necrodancer for a while, not my favourite roguelite I've played but still very fun!
I would also totally be down for a Mario-themed necrodancer!
I really love the fun way you reviewed the game. Funny but genuinely helpful! I do own it - it's currently sandwiched between other games in my (ever-growing) "yet to play" pile. I've just played through Sonic Mania so I will want to start on something else at some point, though.
Many thanks for sharing this video and keep up the great work! 😊👍
3:20 YES
Mushroom Rhythm!
Bowser Boogies!
Kong Karnivale!
Plus the most important thing: THE PUNS!!!!
Seemed the main salt here was only that there are not more Cadence collaborations.
The soundtrack to this was so good
Most positive side of salt I’ve ever seen
0:03 you gona make a loop of this
I like how the begining is the most viewed part of this.
3:27!!! That time I was drinking n had ta spit it out from laughter
There's a term for this: "Roguelite", with a t.
Some random person: "Give me one reason why Cadence of Hyrule is good."
Me: "Uhh... it exists?"
“Gleeokenspiel is the best”
Huzzah! A man of quality!
Was on the fence about getting this game, so thank you for convincing me to dive in!
There's a free demo available.
there is no salt here this is more like a side of well-deserved sugar
fun fact: CotND now has *HATSUNE MIKU HERSELF* in the game
tbh with you mentioning wanting this but mario, i bet it’d slap! it probably would be a luigi’s mansion game too based on the themes, and it could just be an ever going mansion with the eventual hope of saving mario! that’d be pretty sick.
love that moment in the game where Link drops the sickest nae nae on Ganon's stanky leg to defeat him and bring back the gangnam style triforce
There was no salt in this.
i do have the best theme though
either way, loved cadence of hyrule - wouldn't have become a speedrunner of crypt of the necrodancer if i didnt see it in the switch news when it was announced
I need to go back to this game apparently, I beat the main game once and haven't seen a majority of the stuff you showcased here
Wow, that music sounds like a love letter to Link to the Past.
the music is actually made by the family jules, yes. THAT family jules.
"...Only to get shafted by G-money himself!"
...I mean, yeah!...
That green bean got no moves! now kirby hmmmm yes I'd pay for that
Loogi... You... You're not even moving your hips...
I didn't know this game had that fixed beat thing. That really broads up the player audience. It would quite turn the game into a turn based game
I originally avoided Necrodancer because despite having rhythm, I feared keeping it up during gameplay would become too complex. I was delighted while playing Cadence of Hyrule, though, that this wasn't the case. I'm glad the game has a Mystery Dungeon-style mode, but if you're someone who thinks moving to the beat is too intimidating, give the standard mode a shot anyway. You may surprise yourself.
Zelda games always had incredible soundtracks and themes, so when they announced this game I went; "That makes so much sense!" right away.
Rhythm heaven music in the outro hell nah.
I loved this game, it was such a fun time
Scott really never misses
Oh lord its been 17 years since Videogamerz...
Love the doc strange reference lmao
Started playing Cadence of Hyrule recently and finished it yesterday. The only reason i bought the game is because i liked the music and now it's one of my favorite The Legend of Zelda games. 8.5/10
Only 8.5?
Mario: I have no brother.
Finally Gleeokenspiel gets the recognition he deserves.
I bought these necrodancer games like a week before this upload!
Ya know I dropped off after I got the last instrument. Should probably get back to that
I personally like this one slightly more than the original. Partially because it's LoZ music and partially because it is an entire adventure
Agreed
Oh my god guys I can’t believe it, Link is hitting the gritty
I love the way you draw your characters, especially the Mario Bros.
