elite infantry in general just seem like pointless investments when every single faction has a spell or auto-include unit that nukes them right off the bat

This is pretty much the worst possible situation possible: expensive non AL heavy infantry get fucked up by twice as much gold worth of anti infantry AP/shock units while disordered and surrounded, with the only damage dealt in return being to cheap dogs. Fighting khorne ain't the time to be crying about elite infantry viability esp as a faction with access to pit of shades.
Between this and another Valkia game, it seems that her absolute best is against factions with limited air who rely on ranged to deal with flyers. She is just so fast and small that without dragons, manticores, or phoenixes she can tear apart an army and likely lord/caster snipe even better then Skarbrand can.
any faction that brings double manticore against her feels like they're asking to be punished. With her invuln and general stat advantage, she should easily murderize the both of them. Single manticore obviously fares even worse.
Wouldn't worry too much about air either, she's pretty fast and with the ability to land air units in WH3 at will, air vs superior air isn't much of an issue as in previous games. Just need to be aware of it and then she can likely be a great anti-air cause she can pop her invulnerability and trick enemy flyers on the ground to get bogged down by Khorne units. Air units is more a mobility unit to counter ranged or a defensive one to defend flying caster lords than having to counter eachother from numbers or quality now that at any moment you can turn them into ground units without engaging, unless it's say Cathay's lanterns.
Bleakswords (and Black Ark Corsairs and Witch Elves) got WS buffs. 7 for the first two and closer to 10 for the Witch Elves if I recall correctly. A significant buff but given how pricey and squishy they are I think a deserved one.
For sure. And really, given how they performed on TT wutch elves deserve to be infantry blenders. They should be able to just frontally charge low and even a good number of mid tier infantry and win.

Idk who or what counters Khorne cause every video I see of them it’s a steam roll, especially the older factions, and good players are the spotlight of many vids that bring A-S tier matches. Maybe I’m watching the wrong vids but Khorne is definitely insane.
As always, the best way to defeat a stronger opponent is to not fight (directly). Skirmishers, ranged units, speed to avoid bad fights and chaff to delay the Khorne blender tide. Magic that deals lots of Ap damage and kills models outright is also a great tool, as well as debuff spells that can temporarily neuter their damage stats.
Khorne got a rough time dealing with ranged and any AP units, ranged melts their daemons and marauders, and AP melts the warriors. WE is likely a race I can see Khorne having a huge problem with in land battles, though they have more options for mobility now to shut down ranged, but a good WE player will know to focus down units engaging them.
This battle is a one sided affair. DE has an okay infantry. The battle would have been different if a dragon, medusa, and at least a crossbow were present for the dark elves. They were outflanked and valkia was having her way because the DE has no flyers. They should have given morathi her flying stud and her deadly spells
Oh man, when I saw the dark elf build I thought Khorne wouldn't get a chance to shine, but damn that battle was so full of hype. Definitely my favorite faction in the game right now.
The khorne marauder cav were my favorite, but I think the reason all of them are really good is that all of them fill a vital niche that their respective monogod lists sorely lacked.
Dedicated characters lose Manticore and Dragon access, and they shouldnt. Thats my only gripe with this DLC. Some of us LIKE using the mortal Lords over all of them becoming daemon princes. Its cool that they can ascend, but keeping them as Mortals should be a viable choice as well, and with their TT mount options. As on TT Chaos Lords of ANY mark still get all the normal Chaos Lord mount options. They dont lose Manticores/Chaos Dragons just for being dedicated. Whoever did this didnt know this, I guess? As doing "reskins" of these mounts for each faction truly was a BIG missed opportunity as it would have been great to show off some monstrous mounts with the rest and would have gotten even more hype from people I am sure. As Khornate themed Chaos dragons in art look incredible (There is even a named Character with a Khornate Dragon that was in both Old World and AOS, that Forgeworld did. I think his name was Volgoth the scarred or something like that....) So it is both TT and Lore Accurate for ALL Chaos Lords, of ANY mark to have a choice in taking these monstrous mounts. Losing such useful mounts for a color scheme and a couple of buffs is a mis step, and I am sure once people get their hands on this, many will also see what I mean. I am sure modders will be on this quick, but I would rather it was correctly represented in game. The choice to add only god-touched mounts will be a handicap as well, for some who prefer to use these flying characters in their playstyle. I think this was an oversight they would correct if people pointed it out. CA has been great about listening to fans.
WOW that first charge of the ROR Skullcrushers felt so impactful. What a great showcase of that unit, first time I've seen it and already the most badass unit in immortal empires.

Yep I recently upgraded my GPU to RTX 3070 ti and can run this game at 1440p in all its glory. But I had basically the recommended level GPU for release and I couldn’t reach 60 fps even on medium settings 1080p. It really is poorly optimized.
could be that Khorne Marauders are stronger because of Frenzy and high MA. but i think there was some friendly fire from the Dark Rider repeater crossbows in that fight
I wanna see a witch elf build tango with Valkia and her chosen. The low armor may not matter if you can get some SoS on the front while poisoning and rampaging them. I bet raven heralds can counter tech the new RoR. No shields is a bad day and a flyrathi can likely duel Valkia in the air.
May not work well with Khorne's dual wielding axe units that are great at grinding down unarmored units. Rampage probably wouldn't make a Khorne player care much as they're there to stay and grind meat either way.
Dont know what to think of this DLC tbh It looks all cool but marked chaos warriors should have been part of the Chaos rework. Warriors of Chaos lacked that from the beginning and now we are supposed to pay extra for reskins? So a 15 dollar DLC for 4 Lords and reskins... Seems a bit of when you can get a whole Race pack for 18 dollars. And even Race packs are already over priced when you consider you get 7 Races with Warhammer III.

dont think he has much of a problem with it lol. throwing axes are a pretty close range weapon, and they're designed to charge into melee when they're out
Khorne is throwing his sword at the enemies, so why would he have a problem with marouders throwing axes? Plus he doesn't care from where the blood flows
Valkia seems really good, not just a brain dead melee lord you really have to get in there and pick your battles with her but she has some really cool utilities at her disposal
She's having difficulty defeating morathi in a duel who is not a melee lord. Imagine if morathi was flying in this battle. Valkia would have been wrecked.

For campaign you atleast got the authority system, unless you wanna go just Slaanesh, and just for variety and fun. In MP battles as WoC though it's a good question. At the end of the day WoC was even bloated in TT with all the marks, and it was a lot about just thematic fun armies for whatever god you wanted to champion or all of them. Why I feel focusing more on monogods eventually made the distinction more apparent and important.
From most of these battles lately it just seems that the newer factions almost exclusively outshine the older ones in all aspects of gameplay. Doesnt seem that fun.

There's no hard data to point to for fantasy, but generally it was a lot more diverse in faction proportionally compared to 40K. Only thing you can find is tournament showings, Chaos leading. One of the reason speculated as to why fantasy discontinued was the seemingly lack of interest in Empire when compared to 40K SM. Why they made AoS pauldron wearing smurfs.

Are they ever going to fix knocked down units becoming invincible? Even Valkia who is roughly the same size as Morathi just keeps knocking her over every time she tries to attack. This stuff is so unbearably lame at this point.
Valkia should've had a single use charge bonus multuplier for her army based upon how much damage she has taken. It even couldve played into her trailer very well and add a fun little element to headlong charges
Disagree with no skirmish mode, easier to toggle off than it is to toggle on, once your skirmish cav got caught by hounds in a corner you weren’t looking at
yeah I only recommend turning it off if you have good micro and can consistently position them well. its way more effective with parthian shot units that can fire while retreating though
@@milkandcookiesTW totally agree, lots of skirmish cav have 360 so I keep it on 80% of the game. My micro is good and I’m rocking the high in the sky debug cam, but unless I’m trying to shoot into a big SEM over some too close enemy infantry or something where I’d turn it off, I keep it as a failsafe. Easy enough to catch them running, turn it off, then run around the enemy chasing me to get fire focus back on the SEM/whatever the target was
Korne seems a bit over-tuned. Even in campaign I found them to be tough to fight as Kislev. With all these new powerful units idk how a faction like empire even competes.

I think it’s because it’s the easiest to play not a lot of macro and they almost certainly will always win the melee fight cost effectively

Valkia seems really good, not just a brain dead melee lord you really have to get in there and pick your battles with her but she has some really cool utilities at her disposal
She's having difficulty defeating morathi in a duel who is not a melee lord. Imagine if morathi was flying in this battle. Valkia would have been wrecked.

@@techelitesareadisease8816 she was fighting repeater crossbows who are shitty units to begin with. Her animations are impressive but she's quite vulnerable.
@@czardavid6710 U are right Morati basically kicked her ass and she is very vulnerable in one to one hand type combat. But I actually think the fact that she is vulnerable like that makes her and playing her cooler. As for her looks and animations she is amazing!

This battle is quite unfair for the dark elves, their strength is with their missile infantry and monsters and their not in here
so the only way to play khorne a melee dark god is with throwing axes - god not so sure about these unit sharing for factions cause this just going to be the meta

Have any thoughts on the fact that both the slaanesh warriors/chosen variants appear to perform the same role? Why would u ever recruit the standard variant of warriors/chosen when the hellscourge one is clearly better at the same thing
For campaign you atleast got the authority system, unless you wanna go just Slaanesh, and just for variety and fun. In MP battles as WoC though it's a good question.
At the end of the day WoC was even bloated in TT with all the marks, and it was a lot about just thematic fun armies for whatever god you wanted to champion or all of them. Why I feel focusing more on monogods eventually made the distinction more apparent and important.

Interesting as an order faction enjoyer it's only had choas. Strange not having a balance like always. I wonder how this will effect sales?
One thing to compare it to is obviously tabletop and Chaos was always the fan favourite factions.

There's no hard data to point to for fantasy, but generally it was a lot more diverse in faction proportionally compared to 40K. Only thing you can find is tournament showings, Chaos leading. One of the reason speculated as to why fantasy discontinued was the seemingly lack of interest in Empire when compared to 40K SM. Why they made AoS pauldron wearing smurfs.

Are they ever going to fix knocked down units becoming invincible? Even Valkia who is roughly the same size as Morathi just keeps knocking her over every time she tries to attack. This stuff is so unbearably lame at this point.

Valkia should've had a single use charge bonus multuplier for her army based upon how much damage she has taken. It even couldve played into her trailer very well and add a fun little element to headlong charges

Disagree with no skirmish mode, easier to toggle off than it is to toggle on, once your skirmish cav got caught by hounds in a corner you weren’t looking at
yeah I only recommend turning it off if you have good micro and can consistently position them well. its way more effective with parthian shot units that can fire while retreating though
@@milkandcookiesTW totally agree, lots of skirmish cav have 360 so I keep it on 80% of the game. My micro is good and I’m rocking the high in the sky debug cam, but unless I’m trying to shoot into a big SEM over some too close enemy infantry or something where I’d turn it off, I keep it as a failsafe. Easy enough to catch them running, turn it off, then run around the enemy chasing me to get fire focus back on the SEM/whatever the target was

Korne seems a bit over-tuned. Even in campaign I found them to be tough to fight as Kislev. With all these new powerful units idk how a faction like empire even competes.
