To be honest the first silent hill still bothers me to this day. I’ve beaten the game multiple times over the years but it’s hard to go back and play it because it just gives me that unnerved feeling 😑

@@samhillier9607 I actually got the RE7 candles they sold when the game came out. When you burned it, it had a musty old house smell to it. Having that smell while playing in VR just immersed you into the environment that much more.

I bought Slain to support the developer. When it first came out it was panned, so they completely revamped the game and re-released it as Slain - Back from Hell. That is dedication and deserves to be acknowledged. Nice to see it get some more love here.
One of the most intensely scary and memorable gaming experiences I ever had was that time in college I played through Amnesia The Dark Decent on mushrooms. Lights out, headphones on, completely naked and sweating bullets on 4grams. A good night.
I tried the demo of Amnesia once. My reaction has been: NOPE, FUCK THIS I'M OUT! Since then I somehow got both games on Steam and GOG because of some giveaways but I haven't dared touch them.
Well, you guys mentioned you're not very big fans of jumpscares, so from that moment on I was expecting one until the end of the show. But you stayed true to your words, and now I trust you 100% forever! ^^
Heads up to anyone who wants it, don't buy Slain on the Switch. The opening area drops to like 2 to 5 fps for some reason and makes it unplayable. The devs claim they fixed it and never did and won't patch it to fix it
I've never played the first Fatal Frame game, but the second one legit creeps me out if i'm playing alone in the dark late at night. That's the best way to play most of these games: alone late at night in the dark.
I remember being freaked out when i played the demo for "Silent Hill 4: The Room", the original "Condemned" was also pretty unnerving. And while the whole game wasn't much, the death scene during the "Maintenance Shed" part in "Jurassic Park Interactive" with the lunging raptor was fucking scary, even today.
I admit, the first time I played Condemned, I got a little scared. I worked at a mortuary in Atlanta when I was 19 and Condemned reminded me of my old job. All fun and games until it was 1am and there's a house call on the bad side of town.
The game that scared me the most as a kid was Rugrats Search for Reptar on the PS1 since it had that survival horror level where you have to fight ghosts with your flashlight.
Clive Barker's Undying was pretty scary for a younger me. A first-or-third-person shooter with arcane motifs, what really got to me was the environmental sounds, especially when playing in the dark and wearing headphones.

Great stuff as always guys! My favorites are still Resident Evil Remake, Dead Space, Silent Hill 2. Until Dawn is a masterpiece and The Evil Within really freaked me out in recent years!
IAMBrenner theres something about the shittiness of Evil Within that makes it scarier, like it was developed in some dark basement in The Balkans. The way things change around you as youre walking around makes it feel like youre never totally safe
A lot of people were saying this before I ever tried it in VR, so it had a lot to live up to. And like pretty much everything, it couldn't possibly live up to the hype and I didn't want to play a long-form game wearing a helmet. Maybe if it were only an hour or two.
Game Sack I do agree with that. It took me and my friend a couple of weeks to play through it in VR, mainly because we had to stop after a while. VR is cool and all. But i don’t think it’ll last. Like motion controls.
