Another way to show that Mr. Miyagi was an important part of Daniel's life was that Daniel refused to go to college when they returned from Okinawa and decided to use his money to help Mr. Miyagi get his dream job instead of using the money for college after Mr. Miyagi lost his maintenance job.

Yes because the gta verse, Daniel is the owner of his own set of car dealerships. Thanks to his friendship with Johnny Lawrence for teaching him Miyagi Do karate and finding balance in life. He owed Daniel and Johnny found happiness in karate and franchised in Eagle Fang 🦅 karate years ahead. So only Dutch started cobra Kai instead

What could’ve helped this movie is if it’s set as the second karate kid movie. The beginning could’ve added foreshadowing. To continue the miyagi cobra Kai rivalry to the second part of the saga itself. Maybe having Johnny join Miyagi do to find balance in his life. To find good relations with Daniel. And maybe miyagi focusing on a Johnny would twist Daniel into Cobra Kai and then screwing his moves into his own weakness. Johnny would later help him as he discovers Kreese was with silver and decides to help Daniel as alongside Miyagi sensei.

They did not rejoin the efforts until March 1945, where they were used for what was intended to be a diversionary attack on the gothic line(they ended up breaking the gothic line, when they turned it into an all out offensive). Now both men have PTSD from war, but the things I’ve just described are not them “dealing” with it so much as taking it out on others. They hurt people, and Silver got help and moved on with his life, at least for a time. Kreese could’ve easily done the work to help himself alongside Silver, even if he was broke, Silver would’ve paid for it, and he definitely had plenty of rock bottom moments such as losing Cobra Kai twice, breaking his favorite student, and being denied re-enlistment because of psychological issues. The institution that turned John Kreese into such a monster, and rewarded him for it, told him to his face that he was mentally unfit to do what they trained him to do. If that wasn’t a sign for Kreese that he needed to work on himself, then there’s either some worse rock bottom moment in his future than anything else in his past, which I doubt, leaving one conclusion left. This conclusion also explains why Terry Silver was so quick to return to his old self; Kreese and Silver enjoy being what they became in the war. And PTSD is no excuse for intentionally and joyfully hurting children. Now, I’m not so biased against Kreese and Silver that I forgive and forget Chozen trying to murder Kumiko because she chose Daniel over him. He may have done the work to truly change and become Miyagi 2.0, and I admire him for that, but he will never be able to make that right. Kumiko is a very forgiving person, and she could maybe even love Chozen back, who the fuck knows, but with that kind of page in their history, starting something up can’t lead to anything good. It’s the same reason Sam and Miguel are always on and off, Miguel drunkenly hit Sam, and Sam was a pretty shitty girlfriend to Miguel even before Robby came into the picture.

Kress's mother kill herself, he lost one of his war friend killed right in front of him during Vietnam war and his girlfriend Betsy died too. Miyagi lost his wife and his unborn child during world war 2 and also his father died right in front of him. And Daniel due to what Silver and Kress did to him.

WARNING: Season 5 spoilers below To think that in 35 years... -Terry Silver will have his dream of opening Cobra Kai dojos all over the valley (including buying out other dojos & converting them into Cobra Kai) become a reality & recruit friends from Korea to help run them. -Mike Barnes will apologize to Daniel for all the crap he pulled in this movie & hate Terry Silver, especially after Silver (most likely his hired goons) burn down Mike's furniture store that he ran alongside his wife (who we don't see) which drives Mike to wanna kick his ass following a temporary grudge against Daniel. -Mike Barnes will not only have a reunion with Daniel, but also get to meet both Johnny Lawrence & Chozen Toguchi, both of whom also tormented Daniel in the past, but also fight Mike upon meeting until the hatchet is buried & the 3 form an alliance. -Terry Silver would've not only betrayed John Kreese, but also get him arrested. -We learn that Daniel's wife Amanda is cousins with Jessica Andrews (biggest surprise in my book). -Johnny meets Chozen, who Daniel recruits to help him take down Terry Silver & Cobra Kai. -Daniel will fight not only John Kreese at 1 point, but Terry Silver later on (twice).

To think that in 35 years...
-Terry Silver will have his dream of opening Cobra Kai dojos all over the valley (including buying out other dojos & converting them into Cobra Kai) become a reality & recruit friends from Korea to help run them.
-Mike Barnes will apologize to Daniel for all the crap he pulled in this movie & hate Terry Silver, especially after Silver (most likely his hired goons) burn down Mike's furniture store that he ran alongside his wife (who we don't see) which drives Mike to wanna kick his ass following a temporary grudge against Daniel.
-Mike Barnes will not only have a reunion with Daniel, but also get to meet both Johnny Lawrence & Chozen Toguchi, both of whom also tormented Daniel in the past, but also fight Mike upon meeting until the hatchet is buried & the 3 form an alliance.
-Terry Silver would've not only betrayed John Kreese, but also get him arrested.
-We learn that Daniel's wife Amanda is cousins with Jessica Andrews (biggest surprise in my book).
-Johnny meets Chozen, who Daniel recruits to help him take down Terry Silver & Cobra Kai.
-Daniel will fight not only John Kreese at 1 point, but Terry Silver later on (twice).
Not the spot but Daniel did show the bonsai tree to Robbie in season 1
@Nicksolo85 If they show this same spot where the tree is for season 6, maybe the tree is grown by now and it would be unknown if Daniel would recognize it anymore after many years.
