Thanks for the video. I have just purchased a mini 4 pro and wanted to buy the avata 2, however my wife and I decided that the mini 4 pro would give us even more value for money during our holidays, as I am sure you know. Now that I have seen this video, I am not so disappointed about not buying the avata as I can buy the Goggles 3 some time in the future first and use them with my mini 4 pro, and then later buy the avata.
I totally agree with you, you'll get far more value out of the mini 4 pro. I would choose it any day over the Avata2, especially for travelling. Now if you were going to get the Avata2, I would recommend the fly more combo with 3 batteries. That way you get everything you would need fly it, with extra batteries and a carrying case, and it would be much cheaper than buying things separately.

Hello. Thank you for your excellent videos, I just found your channel. I also live in Calgary. I have a DJI mini 2 which in not compatible with googles and I am planning to buy one that is compatible with them. What are you commets about the Mini3 for that purpose? Is the mini 4 a big difference?
After owning both the mini 3 pro and the mini 4 pro, you do get a fair bit more with mini 4 pro. Things like active track and waypoints, if that's stuff you're interested in. The mini 3 pro is also a very good drone and the video quality is quite comparable.
The main question is, does obstacle avoidance work? Do the intelligent tracking options work? Will future software updates allow features that currently don't work when using the goggles to become available? Until DJI makes all the functions of the RC2 controller fully accessible while using the goggles, $500 is too high a price, just to have a better view than through RC2.
The obstacle avoidance does work, you have all the same settings that you would normally with the RC2 controller. The intelligent flight modes is something it doesn't currently have. I hope more features are made available in the future. I agree, buying the goggles alone for this purpose is a high price to pay. To me it only made sense because I bought the Avata2 and got the goggles with that combo.
I purchased mine a few days ago. The are good but you can only video at a frame rate of 60 fps (HD and 4K). As I do not have an Avata ( only a Mini 4 Pro) I had install the latest firmware using the fly app on my phone. I had a lot of problems connecting the phone with a standard USB data cable. You have to connect the googles to the supplied OTG connector or it will not connect!
It is too bad that we don't get the 100fps when using the goggles, maybe they'll give it to us in a firmware update. It's also interesting that you mention that about the USB connection. I had the same issue when I first got my goggles integra. I was only able to get them to connect using the OTG connector, but now I just use a regular USB-C to USB-C between the goggles and my phone and it works no problem. That's on both my goggles integra and goggles 3. So maybe updating the firmware changed something? I would try it again now without the OTG connector and see if it works.
I don't find much difference between my goggles3 display and my goggles integra display. I think the goggles integra are actually really good. The one downside is they use O3 transmission and the newer drones are using O4 which is what the goggle3 use.
The range mostly depends on line sight, and also if you're flying where it's more densely populated, you may get interference that limits your range. I think the range would be very similar to what you would get flying without the goggles.
I guess I could have included some of that detail. There really isn't a lot of settings available once you've connected the goggles and RC2. Turns out that some of these settings like FPV or follow mode need to be set prior to connect the goggles.
Great video thank you! I have the Avata 2 and Mini 4 Pro, both are awesome for different situations. Not tried the Goggles 3 with my Mini 4 Pro yet but will give it a bash over next couple days!! DJI is such an awesome company. Do they auto connect when you turn them on please? No need to repair every time? I love the motion 3 and the RC 3 with my Avata 2, turn one off and the other on, and they just seamlessly connect with ease. Is it the same with the goggles 3 and mini 4 pro please? Also no problems then when using googles with Avata 2?
When you first connect the goggles and mini 4 pro I find it's easiest to use the DJI fly app. Once they've been paired, you shouldn't need to go through that process anymore. You'll will just have to select which aircraft you are connecting to from the goggles. So depending on whether you are flying the mini 4 pro or avata2 you will have to go to the Main menu, select Status and up top select Switch, where you can choose which one to connect to.
@@CreateandKaptivate thanks so much for replying. I tried it today and all worked well but I got a notice saying my device is unbound and I have 4 or 5 times then I need to bind it?? I hope this doesn’t mean we have to choose which drone to bind the goggles to. I would just like to ‘hot swap’ like I can between using my RC3 or motion 3 etc
You will get that warning, it is a bit annoying, but for the most part you can just ignore it. The things is, and you may have already figured this out, when your 5 times runs out, it actually won't let you fly. But all you have to do is power up the drone and the bound controller, let them connect and then you can fly again with the unbound controller.
I have heard there is a way to connect the the goggles 2 using the RC2 (not sure about the RCN2) but it is not done the same way you would connect the Goggles 3 using the RC2 or RCN2. I have tried connecting my mini 4 pro using my Goggles Integra and RC2 with the DJI fly app and the controller won't connect. So I really don't know if or how it could be done.
Is it possible to use Air 3S + RC2 + Goggles 3 and in some way connect one more device for spectator? Another goggles, or tv screen or whatever? By cable or ... I would like to share image from goggles3 with spectator
I'm not sure if this works when connected the RC2 controller, but in the menu at the top of the screen in the goggles there is an option to Share Liveview to Mobile Device via WiFi. I have used that to share the goggles screen to my phone, just haven't tried it with the RC2. You have to have the DJI fly app open on your phone when you enable the option in the goggles and then you will get a message in the fly app to connect. You should also be able to use a USB C cable from the goggles to the phone and using the DJI Fly app see the view from the goggles.
You can fly the mini 4 pro with just the Goggles 3 using the RC2 or RCN2 controllers or you can use the motion controller 3. You can also use the Goggles 2 or Goggles Integra with the motion controller 2. To connect everything and update firmware if required you can just use the DJI fly app.
Unfortunately no loop de loops, but you can fly through tight spaces far better than using the controller screen, but you also need to be careful because you don't have a lot of protection for the gimbal or the props.
I was really hoping to hear you say integra goggles and motion controller 2 would work on the mini 4 pro....i have the Avata 1. & now I'm lookin at the mini 4 pro.

Great video. Do you know if the IPD (distance between eyes) is any wider on the goggles 3 than the goggles 2? I got a big head and the edges on the goggles 2 are blurry. Thanks.

I'm not sure if the firmware update changed how the RC2 and mini 4 pro communicate when using the goggles. It is likely that it's going through the goggles since the video feed is to the goggles and not the controller.
It certainly seems like I get better range when using just the RC2 and no goggles, but I haven't really done any direct comparisons. So it's hard to say because I also find the range I get, regardless of what I'm using, varies quite a bit depending on where I'm flying.

I'm not sure with the rcn2, but with the rc2 there is no display on the controller. If you connect a phone to the goggles with a USB you can view the display on that phone (you will need the DJI Fly app on that phone) There may also be a way to broadcast to another device but I haven't tried that.
@@CreateandKaptivate I haven't even seen a test with the RCN2 with integrated Goggles on UA-cam. only with rcn. But thank you very much for the information.
Yes you can, at least I know it works with the goggles integra and motion controller 2. I'm just not sure if you can use the RC2 or RCN2 controller with the goggles integra and mini 4 pro. I've heard you can, but I'm not sure how to do it.
No, I only have the goggles integra and it didn't seem to work on those. Someone did comment saying it could be done on goggles 2, so maybe they have done it.
I was planning on selling my mini 4 pro to get the new avata 2 but wouldn't it be better just to get the goggle 3 to use with min 4 pro?? Then u have two in one drone in a way. I know the mini 4 pro can not do trick. What you take on this??
I think buying the goggles alone is a bit expensive just to use with the mini 4 pro. But it does give you the FPV option. I think buying the avata2 combo is more value for your money. That being said, if I had to choose between the avata 2 or the mini 4 pro, I would take the mini 4 pro any day, there's just so much more you can do with it.
If you really want to have the FPV option, I would just buy the goggles. Because they're new, I don't see the price dropping that much anytime soon. I would definitely do that over replacing the mini 4 pro with the avata 2.
I think it can be done, if you change the stick mode before connecting the controller and drone to the goggles. I'll have to try it out. There are some other things I want to try and I'll probably make a follow-up video.
I was planning to do another video where I go through all the settings, but in the advanced safety settings which is in the safety menu you can set the aircraft signal lost action to return to home.
Honestly, I don't think it's worth buying the goggles by themselves. They're not cheap, and at least right now, you can't use most of the mini 4 pro features with the goggles. I bought the Avata 2 combo, so now I have the Avata 2, plus I have the option to use the goggles with my mini 4 pro. I figured that was more worth it, but only if you actually want something like the Avata 2.
Yeah, that would be nice to see. You can use the goggles2 with the mini 3 pro and motion controller, so you'd think it they could add support for the RC2 controller.
That setting is actually not available when using the RC2 controller, at least not that I've come across. I know it's available when using the motion controller. Maybe you could set it before connecting the goggles, but I'm pretty sure I even tried setting it to one of the C buttons and that didn't work.
I haven't tried it out in a while, but from what I recall I also wasn't able to activate headtracking. It actually may not be available when using the RC2.
Yeah, that's about it. It may be useful on bright sunny days when it's hard to see the controller screen. Hopefully we'll get more features available in the future.
@@CreateandKaptivate I mean, I know the Goggles version 2 works with mini 3 pro and RC2.. My doubts were only about the compatibility of the goggles 3.
STILL no head tracking - laughable 😂 Can't even access all the settings like intelligent flight modes, cruise control etc. Almost pointless, just a screen on your face that's *it*. Better to just plug some XReal glasses in the bottom like I have.
Yeah, that's how it appears, although, I didn't spend much time checking it out, so I may have missed stuff. I do plan on testing it out some more, just to see what is really available.
Goggles 2 was shown working with RC a year ago, mini 4 with RC 2 is no big surprise, sadly still with no Head tracking. Dji have cornered the market, backward compatibility is less profitable than forcing customers to buy the new release every 12 months.

I'm not sure with the rcn2, but with the rc2 there is no display on the controller. If you connect a phone to the goggles with a USB you can view the display on that phone (you will need the DJI Fly app on that phone) There may also be a way to broadcast to another device but I haven't tried that.
What is this beautiful city?
It's Calgary, Canada.
Does it work with the RCN2 control without a screen too?
Yes, this will work with the RCN2, just make sure to have the latest version of the DJI fly app on whatever you're connecting to the RCN2.
@@CreateandKaptivate I haven't even seen a test with the RCN2 with integrated Goggles on UA-cam. only with rcn. But thank you very much for the information.
Thanks can i use goggle integra for mini 4 pro
Yes you can, at least I know it works with the goggles integra and motion controller 2. I'm just not sure if you can use the RC2 or RCN2 controller with the goggles integra and mini 4 pro. I've heard you can, but I'm not sure how to do it.
@@CreateandKaptivate thanks your support .....
Have you tried this setup with the goggles 2 and rc 2?
@CreateandKaptivate let say the goggles drop in price how cheaper would the goggle have to be in order to justify the purchase.
If you really want to have the FPV option, I would just buy the goggles. Because they're new, I don't see the price dropping that much anytime soon. I would definitely do that over replacing the mini 4 pro with the avata 2.
Do you know if theres any way to invert the verts? so that down is up and up is down
I think it can be done, if you change the stick mode before connecting the controller and drone to the goggles. I'll have to try it out. There are some other things I want to try and I'll probably make a follow-up video.
Another Calgarian! Great video 🎉
Yes! and Thanks👍
I wish that the y Googles Integra would work with the Mini 3 Pro with the Rc controller
I agree, it would be nice to have that option.
Important question, what happens if signal loss, The mavic is coming back home?
I was planning to do another video where I go through all the settings, but in the advanced safety settings which is in the safety menu you can set the aircraft signal lost action to return to home.
Thanks for your answer, I'm also planning to buy a Goggles 3 your video was interesting to me 🙂
How do we get head tracking to work?
Unfortunately, I don't think head tracking is available when using the RC2.
I have this exact set up, how am i able to go back and calibrate my goggles3 to work the head tracking , it seems to be disabled on mine
I'm not sure if it's a calibration issue, with the RC controller my head tracking was disabled as well. I do need to look into it a bit more.
It only works with motion controller 3
Это важно! Разберитесь скорее!
I got the mini pro 4 but I want to know if I should get the goggles 3?
Honestly, I don't think it's worth buying the goggles by themselves. They're not cheap, and at least right now, you can't use most of the mini 4 pro features with the goggles. I bought the Avata 2 combo, so now I have the Avata 2, plus I have the option to use the goggles with my mini 4 pro. I figured that was more worth it, but only if you actually want something like the Avata 2.
Yes and motion 3. Best of both worlds in one drone
is head tracking works on that setup ?
Where you would normally turn it on, I can't select it, but I'll have to look into it a bit more.
GAWD I hope they give it to us on Googles 2 and Mini Pro 3.
Yeah, that would be nice to see. You can use the goggles2 with the mini 3 pro and motion controller, so you'd think it they could add support for the RC2 controller.
can we use on vertical ?
Not that I know of, I didn't come across any way to switch to vertical.
Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
Hm. This always worked with the Googles 1 and the ROKID Air Google for example.
Interesting, I've heard from a few people now of different ways this was possible before.
Good video. Like and subscribed.
Great to hear! Thanks👍
Will this work with the RC N2?
Yes it does work with the RC N2.
Parabéns pelo vídeo, h tenho um mini 4 pro, quero comprar agora o avata 2 combo, obrigado ❤
That's what I did. That way you get the Avata 2 and you have the option to use the goggles with your mini 4 pro.
The goggles 2 does work with the rc2, but it's a weird way to set up
That's interesting🤔 I was not aware of that.
It works with goggles 2 and rc2 ? not just motion controller ?
You have to take it out of gimbal and put it in FPV
That setting is actually not available when using the RC2 controller, at least not that I've come across. I know it's available when using the motion controller. Maybe you could set it before connecting the goggles, but I'm pretty sure I even tried setting it to one of the C buttons and that didn't work.
Hello I couldnt activete head trcaking how can I
I haven't tried it out in a while, but from what I recall I also wasn't able to activate headtracking. It actually may not be available when using the RC2.
How about mastershot / quickshot menu?
Unfortunately we don't have access to those either, at least not right now.
@@CreateandKaptivate well that's basically flying "only" for fun ;)
Yeah, that's about it. It may be useful on bright sunny days when it's hard to see the controller screen. Hopefully we'll get more features available in the future.
cool, thanks
No problem!
I couldn't get it out of 60 fps with controller and goggles for some dumb reason
All my footage was at 60 fps as well, I didn't try changing it, but maybe I can't. I'll have to try it out.
So, it doesnt work with mini 3 pro, right? =[
The rc or rcn1 controllers don't work with the goggles, as far as I know. But you can use the mini 3 pro with the goggles and motion controller.
@@CreateandKaptivate I mean, I know the Goggles version 2 works with mini 3 pro and RC2.. My doubts were only about the compatibility of the goggles 3.
Yeah unfortunately I think you are right about the compatibility with the goggles 3
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Set fpv mode before you hook up the whole setup.
Good to know, I hadn't tried that but was wondering if it would work. Thanks!
Using Goggles 3 and RC2 with Air3, you lose the ability to switch cameras and 9x zoom :(
Lett that be known.
Oh really? It's seems like there is very limited functionality with the RC2 and Goggles3. Hopefully they can give us more to work with.
Also no head tracking right?
@@anuragrpande no head tracking. Not yet anyways.
Damn that suck no head tracking 😕
Yeah, there's not much other than basic flight controls. It would be nice to have a few of the features like head tracking.
@CreateandKaptivate nah that really is all three is according to other reviewers...
Goggles 2 was shown working with RC a year ago, mini 4 with RC 2 is no big surprise, sadly still with no Head tracking.
Dji have cornered the market, backward compatibility is less profitable than forcing customers to buy the new release every 12 months.
@jameskelly9579 oh don't get me c wrong I know precisely why they do it... and their customer infractions are pathetic on their forums when it comes to feature requests
@@jameskelly9579goggles 2 with mini 4 pro you have to use motion rc2 you can not use rc 2 that only works with mini 3
