Canucks need a dedicated checking line to put out against McDavid/Draisaitl.
That's exactly what I've been wondering about, though the matchup would be more difficult in Edmonton. Miller spending all his time chasing McDavid is a waste, anyway.
A checking line, great idea, then Oilers will split Drai and McD and McD will double shift onto the 3rd or 4th lines and you won't have anyone getting anywhere near him. The Drai will slip in 3 or 4 goals.
Mcdavid and Drasaitl out there every 2-3 shifts in the 3rd really destroyed the nucks and they couldn’t get any momentum in the 3rd I felt like when the other 3 lines were on and gave the Canucks a little time to breath lol
Our bottom 3 lines did their job too by holding Canucks bottom 3 lines to a stalemate... According to canuck fans they werent suppose to, but they did.
@@user-bi6yf4hv9g Your 1 line of your 1 line team had to play half the game.. like literally half the game to eek out an overtime bounce.
@@prana16 Your 4 line team was down 4-1 in the first before the Edm brain fart, then lost in the second. Do you think the Edm atmosphere is going to help your boys?
I have a pretty simple formula to tell if Canucks are going to lose, based on watching just about every single game since the start of the season. Just watch the shots on goal. If Canucks start getting behind, then start declining to 2-1 against or worse ---- 9 times out of 10 they lose. That's what happened again last night -- final shots 31-19. But in Game 1 they reversed this flaw in their game, and they won. It will be the same formula for the rest of the playoffs, guaranteed.
What are the chances of winning a game where you have 19 shots (only 2 of them in the final 20 mins of regular play) and the Edmonton Oilers have 31?
Don’t forget the boarding on petterson in the first
kid needs to figure out playoff hockey and stop looking for calls. not the refs fault he falls down 4 times a shift
@@Dkingof dudes got legs like Bambi on ice but it’s still a hit in the numbers into the boards. That’s boarding
What boarding?
Don't forget the boarding from Tyler Myers on Janmark

When Zadorov scored the Canucks started skating backwards and nit forward.
Our 2 man team took down the entire Canucks....1 goal n 3 assists each for Connor n Leon. They owned the Miller Boeser line. 😎👍
You said it not me 2 man team ain't gonna get you far in Stanley Cup finals especially with Skinner in net. Only Canadian team that has a chance this year of winning the cup is now the Canucks with Demko and Silovs or Desmith as backup goaltenders.
If and that's still a big IF Oilers get by Canucks they'll be pretty warn out playing McDavid and Drisaitl 30 minutes a game and Skinner can't do it for you I don't care what anyone says.
@@qhockeyfanif we beat you then we’re better. We have the better top end players. Great players win Stanley cups.
When they pressured them they were contained. When they didn't they weren't. For some reason last night they sat back for big portions.. kept backing in and giving them all the space they could want to make plays or shoot. And it wasn't "keeping them to the outside".. outside is along the boards.. not allowing them to walk in untouched to the inside of the circles with no pressure at all. And NO to the lotto line. For whatever reason all three of those guys stop skating when they play together.
Sounds like you are describing the Oilers 3rd period in game 1. Yes, hockey is better played in "forward"
A lot of positives to take away from tonight, but hoo boy we need to put a line together to stop how much space those guys get
Exactly. They get way too much time and space.
@@chrisn2125 Time and space comes from skill and tempo. If you change your whole strategy to stop 2 guys you'll find the other 18 are also here for a reason.
The one line crap isn’t true. Dria was on his own line game one. Hyman was with Mcdavid and janmark. They just played last night together. There wher misses both sides is what it is.
Such homers lol, but then again it’s no different than Yaremchuck and the Oiler nation. Good game and good series so far. Should be a great game 3.
Blake looks so tired...he's normally in bed by 9 pm and requires 10 hrs sleep to feel fresh...
Oof, I’m extra annoyed at that missed high stick on Hughes now
Are you annoyed that Zadorov got away with injuring Draisaitl as well then? Or that's OK?
*Missed "too many men on the ice" on the same shift Zadarov scored. I will consider it a wash.*
@@AzNightmare that’s never a penalty, ever, have you ever even watched a hockey game before? First time?
@@LARGO125 I’m sorry, but wtf are you talking about?
@@LARGO125 yea Draisaitl was super injured lmao
Canucks lost because Tocchet was outcoached. He didn't try to line match or modify the line combinations. As a result, McDavid and Draisaitl dominated the game and won. Oilers won't care about riding the top line if they can beat the Canucks in 5 games. They'll have plenty of time to rest and recuperate before the Conf. Finals. The whole team, including Tocchet need to be much better, or the sports nerds will be proven right and the Canucks will get steam rolled.
It’s a good point. The Canucks didn’t seem to be able to handle that line and the Oilers coach just kept throwing them back out there. If Tocchet isn’t able to match up against them (better than game 2) Canucks are going to struggle.
van out played the oilers in the 3rd period in game 1. I think Nucks got lucky. Then McD came out to play in game 2. And oiler depth scoring needs to get going. Skinner is off/on.
The Canucks just made so many turnovers on lazy passes and held onto the puck instead of getting it out of their zone when they had the opportunity to move the puck. They treated an unsteady Skinner like he was a Vezina finalist, continually passing from good shooting positions to bad shooting positions. Zadorov gets it. If the Miller line is being used as a checking line, maybe swap Boeser and Mikheyev. Mikheyev may be scoring plays go to die, but he has speed.
Game 2 ends and Ian Cole has been in on 4 oiler goals over two games. Mikheyev experiment must end.
Canucks beating themselves.
Thanks for the " in depth "comments on the McDavid Quinn Hughes high stick. IT ABSOLUTELY should have been a 4 min double minor. That was criminal non call. And then for Quinn Hughes to have to go off because he was bleeding too much. Unreal. Other than that great hockey game. Hope the Canucks can get more shots on Skinner next game, just keep shooting on him he's not that good at all.
wtf is a 4 min major?
@@Dkingof Opps 4 min double minor. I do that all the time, thinking anything over 2 min is a major. Haven't watched much hockey for several years, because my Canucks haven’t been in it and no Canadian teams doing that well. Gotta get my hockey IQ back up. Nice to see some Canadian teams in the mix tjis year.
Hyman was high sticked in front of the net with no call
McDavid was punched in the head 4 times by 2 canucks in the scrum on the boards, so which canuck will serve the 5 min fighting major?
Where does Myers get the idea he can play the puck against McJesus🤷🏻♂️The only chance he has is to somehow get his gigantic body in front of him and try to chip some speed away and allow other checkers to catch up🤦🏻♂️
Soooo much crying!
The best third line in hockey!?!? LOL. Come on Blake!
Not even the best 3rd line in this game lol
Mcdavid and Drasaitl bounced back and had a good to game, and even then, it was tied 3-3 OT, and took a Canucks own goal for Oilers to get the win. Looking forward to game 3, hopefully Sutherland is not reffing. Canucks record with him doing their games is bad, I think he's bad luck ; )
Oilers in 5
@@shawn9297no chance!
The "own goal" would have been a Hyman goal if your defender hadn't touched it.
@@shawn9297 perhaps 6, maybe? Definitely not 5...LOL
You could read Quinn's lips he said that's bullshit
Oilers depth will show up in the series.
Like the first 15 games, the Oilers are "resting" depth to have it fresh for round 3 and 4... LOL
Draisaitl must have taken some Midol.
What? No riot?
Hoggy is gonna sit on his ass in game 3 guarantee. Cole will not because Tocc loves his Stanley Cup pedigree and can blocks shots with his head. May be one of his black ace can replace the Pizza guy Dgueseepe. He is doing nothing neither!
It is hilarious to watch these two old fools talk about how "we wuz robbed" by bad referees, especially after laughing about legitimate complaints about non-calls that favoured Vancouver through the first game. Oooh, the ref hates us, the league made the Oilers win lol... what a bunch of jr hockey announcers.
It's simply-Play better and move on. If the boys played better we would have won. Get over it.
Ref were bad but that's not the problem. The canucks let the Oilers top line cook and the canucks depth was pretty useless. Ilya Mhykeyev is awful and hopefully Podz will be in the lineup.
So, what's this "Canucks are deeper" talk all about?. Do they now have respect for the Oilers bottom 6? Atleast they were holding Canucks bottom 6 hemmed in their own zone. If Sam Carrick was inserted for Perry it would even be better. Perry too slow.
I would say either teams depth have been effective. Maybe about tied
Ref was trash
Yikes. Very bad errors.
replace cole... retire him. He's done.
*Soucy's failed hit cost Canucks the lead. Moronic play that gave McD the breakaway. Unnecessary high risk open ice hit that not only threw himself out of position, but took out Petey who was backchecking McD.*
Canucks Tocchett style "hit at all costs" approach will not work against the Oilers . You pay the price if you forget too play hockey too! Oilers are too smart and agile for that.
Cry more. One good Oiler period in two games and the series is tied. Barring the self inflicted Oiler collapse, the Oilers are up 2-0. It’s over.
The Coilers played greasy last night and the reffing was brutal. You have the two best players on the planet, but your goaltender sucks, you have one productive line and you have Darnell Nurse. Coilers will be destroyed in 3rd round , so enjoy these last few games 😂
What does that say about Canuck lines too? You could say they only have one line too...I don't see the bottom 9 lighting it up. In fact overall our bottom 9 has out perform Canucks bottom 9 play wise.
@@canadiantraveller281 OK now we don't need hate speech here!! How dare you mention how horrible our hugely lazy and overpaid Darnell Nurse is? That's worse than saying Calgary or Toronto has a hickey team LOL!! Without Darnell's help Vancouver would have been shut out.
Destroyed in Rnd 3? Sounds like you're waving the white towel already with the series tied. 😊
Canucks cant do shit to McDrai. They were clowning the Canucks. Legends. 6th best player 😂. 2nd best. The fact they were punching, hooking, holding the Oilers all game and less PPs makes up for the Hughes accidental high sticking when 2 guys ran into each other.
Your team did a testicle shot to one of our guys. Male code supersedes any piddly little ice hockey game. You guys are an embarrassment to evolution.
If Hughes wasn't running a pick on McD then he wouldn't have run into his stick, which was not moved toward him an inch.
