Hogger isn't the only WoW character who has been compared to Chuck Norris. The Horde has Varok Saurfang and the Alliance has Darius Crowley.

Varok is not compared to Chuck, anyone with the name of Saurfang is incarnation of Chuck Norris in warcraft universe.

I was there, in Vanilla, forming hordes of level 1 gnome mages running through their starting zone, taking the underground train, getting to Stormwind and marching in columns to destroy him, or die trying.
Many hours of entertainment were provided by such an stupid activity.
Good old Vanilla WoW. It's been a long time, but I doubt I will ever forget that awful gnoll, and his 1hkos... :p

Well, yeah, it is such an iconic character. More than some current HotS characters. They want to make everything from their universes playable, I'm sure of this, it just depends on developing time and order. He'd have to be a melee Assassin from the Warcraft universe.

Here is my Hogger Fanfiction:
After faking his death in the Stormwind Stockades, Hogger escaped the prison with help from his fellow Riverpaw Gnolls. Gnolls from outside the city helped in this escape, but the Gnolls were cornered within Stormwind's walls and forced to commandeer a boat and take sail. These Gnolls, still headed by Hogger, eventually become lost at sea and ultimately land on an scorched, destroyed island; the ruins of Kezan. While exploring this island, Hogger and his Gnoll followers discover buried caches of Kaja Cola, which they drink, enhancing their intellect. It's not long afterwards that a crew of the Bilgewater Cartel sails to the island, looking to find any remnants of their old home. Instead, they find these shipwrecked Gnolls who, while not as intelligent as Goblins, have gained some measure of enhanced intelligence.
The Goblins, learning of Hogger's tale and hatred for the Alliance, offer them "aid" (all the while exploiting them) which leads to Hogger and the Riverpaw Gnolls returning to Azshara with the Goblins, joining the Horde, and finally establishing a home that they don't have to fight over with Humans.
Alright, this isn't really "fanfiction" as much as "how I wish Blizzard would make Gnolls the next playable Horde race" but still.

They did? I mean, they used Abominations like Abomination and Sludge Belcher but I don't think they used Stitches at all. I'm just saying this because HS tends to use the TCG card images and there's nothing like the Stitches from the TCG.
So, he is a card in the Warcraft TCG, not one is HS but who knows... According to the TCG, he'd be a great fit in an expansion that interacted more with the "graveyard", just like the current Resurrect and Onyx Bishop but to a deeper level.

You didn't mention the Darkmoon Faire minigame where you have to pound gnolls/hoggers and you get a battle pet, "Hogs" for the achievement.

I freaking love the gnolls! They are so vicious yet adorable! I have collected like 8 of those celebratory gnoll costumes from the anniversary, hope there will be an easier way to play as a gnoll one day (in wow). Or Hogger in HoTS, which ever comes first.

I wish you could play against Hogger, Lorewalker Cho, Millhouse Manastorm, King Mukla and Illidan again in Hearthstone but just on heroic. I found them very unique to play against :)
I still remember the time my guild and I all created gnome alts and went straight for hogger while avoiding leveling as much as possible, treating the encounter like a raid (I think the highest of us were like lvl 4). Took a few tries but was so darn funny lol

They need to update the old models of mobs.
I really hope they add corrupted gnolls in the next expansion and other stuff so that we can finally have updated gnolls.
Updating the old models removes that nostalgia WoW has. I would rather forget about WoW, come back to it 5 years later and know my favorite Firelord Ragnaros, and Hogger kept their models.

They've been redoing old mob models since MoP and they've said that they only do this when they feel it is necessary. Think it will be a matter of time before mobs like Gnolls, Kobolds and the Quilboar get updated.

Kinda glad they updated the Satyrs, but kinda disappointed there aren't any female ones though.
Still if you think about it a lot of the expansions updated the models so that's good.

Hey Nobbel, do you know about the Gnoll War? They're early Stormwind history, and I don't believe they were ever mentioned in-game. It's the major conflict the Eastern Kingdoms had scene before The First War. Hogger truly lives up to that history.

I've just started playing a few months ago, but what can I say, I'm a real lore buff. Seeing as I am "late" in starting the game, I'm just trying to understand all the stuff that happened in the story before Legion. I also love little details about a fantasy world, thus the inquiry. :)
