Confiscation has happened before. Who knows if prison time will accompany confiscation. Talks about allowing foreigners owning land has been discussed before and nothing has come of it. Why risk hundreds of thousands of USD that you spent a lifetime earning on a "legal if the authorities don't find out" loophole? It's "legal" till the authorities find out. A fool and his money are easily parted. Be my guest.

Hi Jason! My choice for the second house would be to buy the house for 10 mill, and buy the furnitures myself. You will get a lot of furniture for 5 mill baht, in just the personal way you like it. Anywho, a little above my price range 😁 The last one was a better fit 😄 Sorry I was late to watch Manuel and you in Pattaya again, busy busy me, I have missed you guys. Very fun gocart video, wish I was there 😂😂

Thailand is one of the places I'd consider having an additional home but have told myself not to invest until I can actually own the land my property will be on. This thing with foreigner owning land has been thrown about for years now & nothing ever seems to come of it. I've also seen recently something about the golden visa having some sort of link for investors to own land but again I'm not to sure on that. I personally think Thailand is shooting itself in the foot by not allowing foreigners to actually own land because if they do allow it there would be a lot of potential investment & that can only be good for the Thai economy. I personally am steadfast I'm my decision I will never purchase a home in Thailand until I as a foreigner can own the land in sits on, although I rai is not a massive amount I could live with that & possible have a house designed & built to get the best out of the area allowed, I hope this law finally get's passed & one day you never know I may actually have a second home there.
I don't think Thailand is shooting itself in the foot. As a US citizen, anybody can come to America to buy up our land. Thailand should be for the Thais. If Thailand didn't have this rule, China would own Thailand by the end of the year.
By the way, look at the problem with the homeless and housing in the USA. We don't have a shortage of housing in California. We have a problem with affordable housing. The housing shortage is created by large corporations (foreign owners?) artificially increasing prices. If given the chance China and Russia would *uck Thailand.

I know you want to show a range of accommodations for men but 5 bedroom 7 bathrooms, what a nightmare in my opinion, your condo by the river overlooking the beach is safe and financially secure reality for most men in your circumstances. If the government there was to change land ownership rules their would be a landslide of foreign ownership and price the Thais out of their own towns, and putting the cork back in that bottle would be expensive one way or the other

A company can be set up to own property easily but it is not legal and the property can be lost. In reality the only safe thing is for your wife to own the property. Of course you have to trust the wife

I don’t think Thailand should allow foreigners to purchase Land or houses everyone will buy unless they have a pension of 5000 US dollars or have a big business in Thailand heaven forbid 😢I love Thailand and wouldn’t want to see it spoiled even more I remember seeing patong beach with just parrots 🦜 on the beach and palm trees 🌴 now it’s just full of tourist and Rayong is more authentic at the moment

Very good point, Robert, and I do agree. I think to keep the identity of Thailand, they should not change the law. I think there would be a huge rush of farangs buying land and houses here, because they can afford it, and will be turning this into a business. Over time, that would affect Thailand in a negative way.
@@sarlina1 100 Percent I was queuing up for food once and a Thai woman came and the man stopped cooking my food and carried on making the Thai woman’s food first before mine I said thank you 🙏 I said you take care of your own people first I found it lovely and I just waited patiently for mine . I said I wish my country was like yours my country looks after foreigners before there own people
@@roberthornbrook8374 I am glad you didn`t take that the wrong way! But generally I think allowing Thais cutting in lines may be more because they are regular customers, they know what they are ordering, and they may have reasonably quick meals. Otherwise I do think the order of lines is pretty much standard, and followed. Also be aware that a normal thing to do for a Thai, is to just step up and order quick, then leave for a good 10-15 minutes, and come back for the food if it`s finished. That way they are not actually cutting in lines, it may seem so, but they aren`t. But I understand what you mean, and that may also be seen as something of a Thai culture and identity 😊
