It is a challenge to go to any popular tourist area in China during the summer vacation. The good news is that the summer vacation will be over soon, and the students will go back to school in September.
Next time you go to China, you can go to Xinjiang. Xinjiang is a province with a large area and one of the best scenery in China. Snow mountains, deserts, grasslands, and lakes can all be found here. Kanas Lake, Hemu Village, Nalati Grassland, Sailimu Lake, Kashgar and other attractions are all worth visiting. However, it should be noted that transportation and language are not as convenient as in eastern China. The best season is from July to August in summer, while everywhere might be covered in ice and snow in winter.
Hey, Thank you for your comment. Oh wow, thank you for these suggestions, I have just checked them online and they look beautiful! After some time in Yunnan I managed okay and enjoyed getting to practice my Chinese ☺️
Amazing video! So glad to see you like my hometown so much❤❤❤ Although Sichuan is famous for pandas and spicy foods, it's also a province full with heritage from Three Kingdoms,Taoism and Buddhism, Gushu(ancient Sichuan, about 4000years ago), they're worthy exploring. Sichuan dishes are usually spicy for sure, however, chili was brought to China in late 19th century, most traditional Sichuan dishes are not spicy at all, several restaurants like Panshansi are serving these foods, including Shizitou(known as lion's head, is a giant meatball made from pork in fact), Jidouhua(tofu, but made from egg white and chicken breast), both served in stocks, umami and delicious. Please try them when you have a chance 😊😊😊
Thank you for your comment 🙏 Thanks for the history about the spicy dishes. I will have to try some of these traditional dishes when I come back next time 😃
Because China has such a large territory, the food varies from north to south. Provinces that like spicy food include Sichuan, Hunan and Guizhou. The food in Sichuan Province is very spicy, so be sure to explain it to the waiter before ordering. Or don’t order spicy food. I think Guangzhou's food is suitable for foreigners. The food is light, varied, and not spicy.
Thank you for this context and your comment. 🙏 It is like each region is its own country, with its own food and specialities. So much to explore in China! I went to Chongqing after here, so things did not get any less spicy! 🌶️🤣 I will add Guangzhou to my list to visit next time for food! ☺️
Hey there! It looks like you've taken a spicy adventure with Sichuan cuisine, which is fantastic! However, rice and dishes are usually enjoyed separately. You can try picking up some of the dish with your chopsticks and pairing it with a small bite of rice. This way, you can savor the unique flavors of each dish better. The rice also helps to neutralize the spiciness, balancing your taste buds. Give it a try next time, and you might discover a new culinary world! 🍚🌶
glad to see you ride the share-bike, keep in mind according to the traffic law, right-turn car in China can turn right even the traffic light is red. when you ride the bike, be careful to the right-turn car when you cross the road.
Congratulations on your success in coming to Chengdu. I saw in your video that you have tried shared bicycles, which will make your travel more convenient. You are one of the few foreigners who have unlocked shared bicycles in China. In addition, I noticed that you do not like to eat chicken or duck with bones. In China, most dishes are made with bones, because bones can make the dishes taste better. In addition, Chinese cooking may go through many processes, if there is no bone, the meat may crumble after preparation. In addition, bones can be used as a sign of completion of cooking, for example, when a dish is simmered until the meat and bones are nearly separated, the cooking is over. I remember you called room service earlier, and that meal was very expensive. I highly recommend you to try the pilot take-out. It is very convenient to order take-out in China and it is also very fast and rich in variety. Can't wait to see videos of you ordering takeout in China. Finally, when you come to Chengdu, you will definitely try hot pot. I suggest that you can understand how to eat hot pot in advance, how to make dipping ingredients, and boldly try various ingredients. If you don't understand, you can leave a message to me. Of course, you can also ask the shop assistant or people around you for help, the new generation of young people have good English. Hope to see your next video soon.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and suggestions! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and noticed the shared bicycles-I found them to be a fantastic way to get around. Thanks again for your support and for offering to help-looking forward to sharing more of my experiences in Chengdu!
@@wilkowanders Welcome,Chengdu and Chongqing are twin cities in southwest China. They are two very different cities. It only takes 1.5 hours by high-speed rail to reach each other. It is recommended to arrange this trip
What you're likely to encounter on a plane to Chengdu are the air marshals, who are responsible for ensuring the safety of the flight. In China, you don't need to be afraid of the police at all. One rainy day, I couldn't get a ride-hailing car because there were too many people nearby, and I didn't have an umbrella with me, so I took shelter in front of the police station. As long as you don't disturb the staff or prevent anyone in need from entering the police station, no one will mind. Most police officers in China do not carry lethal weapons during law enforcement. The armed police you see in crowded tourist attractions are there only to protect the safety of visitors. The vast majority of Chinese people are not afraid of the police at all. Chinese police, like their counterparts in other countries, must comply with the law in all their actions. China has a very sound legal system, so you don't need to worry at all.
Shuangliu airport is no longer an international airport now. There is another new airport called Tianfu airport for international flights and most of domestic flights
You could also have Cantonese, Shanghainese food in Sichuan, just like that restaurant at 24:10, Jade Garden is a Cantonese restaurant that doesn’t eat spicy food
A small personal tip: Some ancient local temple or local building in small towns or villages could be a good thing to expose, and that can make your video different to most Travel video of China on UA-cam. Enjoy your travel.🎉

@@wilkowanders The same thing happens to you when I'm abroad. It is possible that the language of your program is set to English, so there is a Translate button. However, the translation is very troublesome when using wechat mini programs, and almost all mini programs require a phone number to register. A scan in the top right corner of wechat can translate any image and text that is scanned. I wish the blogger a good time in China.

(For instance, Jiuzhai valley is a good choice, passport may be used for purchasing tickets.) Enjoy your trip!

Absolutely, Chengdu is stunning! The blend of traditional culture and modern charm makes it such a special place. What was your favorite part about it?
gotta avoid spicy if you can't handle spicy because it's on another level in sichuan lol. that duck pot you had, you only eat the duck. everything else there is just for flavor. there are similar dishes like that where it's 80% things you don't eat like the chilis and 20% things you do eat like the meat so people like to dig around the plate looking for the main protein. also find it odd people from the uk don't like meats off the bone lol. it's so much better in flavor when cooked on the bone. forget all that fancy etiquette and use your hands if you need and just nibble off the bones 😂
Chengdu people love spicy, so spicy food is everywhere. Told them recommend something not spicy. And also China is used to not as affluent as western, so meat is chopped in tiny is very often in many dishes.
19:29 The meat on the bone is the best part. Just work the meat off the bone in your mouth and remove the bome. It's boring and less flavor when it's just pieces of meat to eat.
Where will you choose to see in Zhangjiajie?😋,Zhangjiajie National Forest Park or Tianmen Mountain😮?I hope you can enjoy their natural scenery. If you choose to go to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, remember not to take the handbag, because the monkey may snatch it from you.😂😂
I've already been to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and it’s truly a stunning place! Luckily, no monkeys have snatched anything from me yet, haha! 😄
。。。 Every province and every regional city has its own cuisine. You're eating Hunan cuisine.🤣It's very spicy, all spicy。 There are a lot of Chinese cuisines and each place is different, but you ate Hunan cuisine in Chengdu. Ha ha ha.And it's not eaten this way.
I really don't recommend Chengdu or any other big cities in China. Instead, you can go to west of Sichuan province, there are tons of world-class scenic spots. I highly recommend visiting Wudang Mountain, Mount Huang, Mount Hua, Mount Tai, and other famous Chinese mountains. It's definitely worth it. However, you should visit these places during the off-season. You'll experience real joy by visiting these places.
Thank you for the suggestions, I did visit Zhangjiajie National Forest which was beautiful and will be one of my upcoming videos 😄 I will have to check out the other places you have suggested on my next visit to China!

19:29 The meat on the bone is the best part. Just work the meat off the bone in your mouth and remove the bome. It's boring and less flavor when it's just pieces of meat to eat.
Thanks for the tip!
Chengdu is a very good country
I agree! Have you visited before?
I am local of Chengdu, usually native will not go that susi (Shang jing) which so expensive and it not that good as well.
Thanks for sharing!
🤩🤩🤩
In the western world, it’s all controlled by Chrome, Google map, Facebook
I feel like the only place you can find good sushi in china is shanghai.

@@wilkowanders I look forward to seeing your video 😝 about Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
As a Sichuanese, I dare not mix rice into this dish, it is too spicy. Only eat the meat inside.
Thanks for the tip!
wilko you are so lovely a boy
Every province and every regional city has its own cuisine. You're eating Hunan cuisine.🤣It's very spicy, all spicy。
There are a lot of Chinese cuisines and each place is different, but you ate Hunan cuisine in Chengdu. Ha ha ha.And it's not eaten this way.
Thanks for pointing that out! 😊 I’m still learning about all the regional cuisines in China and appreciate the correction.
