Great video! Frenchmen came to Yunnan in the late19th century and brought the religion here. If you visit the town called Shangri-La further west in the mountains near Tibetan plateau, you will be shocked to see churches and Tibetan Christians, they are the only group of Tibetans who are Christians in Yunnan. Tibetans mostly live in Tibet but there are other Tibetans who live in other provinces such as Qinghai, Gansu, Western Part of Sichuan and Northwest Yunnan. BTW, Yunnan is a massive province, its land mass (394,000 km²) is larger than that of Britain, New Zealand, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines or Germany. Thanks for sharing! You may also find Chinese styled mosques in northwest China along the ancient Silk Road, which combine Chinese architecture with Middle Eastern elements, very unique indeed.

Dali and Lijiang are popular travel destinations in China. Foreigners are starting to visit them now. I hope you have a good time in China. If you have any questions, you can seek help from the locals. You can trust the Chinese police, they are not as indifferent as the stereotype suggests.
What you have just visited is a big shopping mall in an ancient city, Lijiang is very much the same! Yunnan alone counts for 900 mushroom species of which accounts for 35 percents of edible mushroom worldwide, it also accounts for 90 percents of mushrooms found in China. You have made a good choice of mushroom hotpot as edible mushrooms are good to your health. Christianity spreaded into China since 16th century and she firstly gained foothold in the remote southwestern frontier in China where ethnic minorities congregated; the missionaries are french directed by the Vatican. The Catholic Trinity Church you visited is a good example of how Christianity adapted localisation in order to spread the religion there. The church archecture is mainly an Ethnic Bai structure. Erhai is a nice place to visit and it should be put into your list.
Thanks for the context here with the mushrooms, It would take a while to taste all the different varieties available there! I am a huge fan of mushrooms. Thank you also for the information about the church too, This would make sense with the unique design. I will have to come back again to try more mushrooms and also visit Erhai 🙏
