You remind me of another vlogger, Amy. Once, she was sitting by the roadside on a hot day, and an elderly lady on the other side of the street waved her over to have some water. She found it incredible that such kindness could be shown to a complete stranger. According to her, this was one of the key moments that led to her decision to stay in China.

You must try mushroom hotpot in Yunnan. It’s the mushroom season there. There are dozens of kinds of mushrooms in Yunnan. The poisonous kind is called Jianshouqing见手青, although it’s totally harmless if it’s cooked appropriately. wow that scooter rental was mad expensive 😅. you can rent an electric moped for about $5 usd a day in most places in yunnan. I guess that's how you know you are in a tourist attraction lol. normally I'm not a fan of manufactured tourist places but I guess the positive is it does introduce to people all the minorities and their culture to someone who never knew they existed.
It was not the cheapest... I did almost twist my ankle and I was still quite tired from flying so I saw it as a treat for myself (I suppose it would not be too bad if 2 people were sharing it!) I found this one of the most genuine locations I experienced in China looking back now, The people were really from the minorities so I think this made it special.
I really liked seeing the different traditional clothing and housing, It was really interesting to see how these unique identities are all from one province.
Really enjoy your travel log. very lowkey. actually NIHAO is a more modern expression. Chinese tends to greet people 'zao' 早 （morning) , similar to French 'bonjour' etc. or eaten？ (chi guo le ma? 吃过了吗) with acquaintances. Unlike in the US or UK, when people meet on the sidewalk would look straight or the other way.... if you smile at them, they would think you are crazy.

You must try mushroom hotpot in Yunnan. It’s the mushroom season there. There are dozens of kinds of mushrooms in Yunnan. The poisonous kind is called Jianshouqing见手青, although it’s totally harmless if it’s cooked appropriately. Btw, Jianshouqing is what Janet Yellen, secretary of U.S. Treasury had when she visited China last fall. apparently, she enjoyed it 😊 Enjoy your time in China ❤

Yes, it's such a powerful song! Even without understanding the lyrics, the emotions really come through
wow that scooter rental was mad expensive 😅. you can rent an electric moped for about $5 usd a day in most places in yunnan. I guess that's how you know you are in a tourist attraction lol. normally I'm not a fan of manufactured tourist places but I guess the positive is it does introduce to people all the minorities and their culture to someone who never knew they existed.
It was not the cheapest...
I did almost twist my ankle and I was still quite tired from flying so I saw it as a treat for myself (I suppose it would not be too bad if 2 people were sharing it!)
I found this one of the most genuine locations I experienced in China looking back now, The people were really from the minorities so I think this made it special.
The song is soooo beautiful. By the way, pronunciation of X in Chinese is more like SHE in English.

Really enjoy your travel log. very lowkey. actually NIHAO is a more modern expression. Chinese tends to greet people 'zao' 早 （morning) , similar to French 'bonjour' etc. or eaten？ (chi guo le ma? 吃过了吗) with acquaintances. Unlike in the US or UK, when people meet on the sidewalk would look straight or the other way.... if you smile at them, they would think you are crazy.
