I love the ways he has rephrased the lyrics. He does that a lot when he sings a cover of a song. It opens up the real meaning of the song. Sooo many songs are sung without achieving that .

Like in many other arrangements, Dimash melds sacred music traditions of different cultures and ages into something uniquely his own. In this piece, for example, you hear Tuvan throat singing - the ancient song of the steppes - creating the foundation while Dimash’s melismas soar high above it. The music of ancient cultures often used chants, overtone singing, and melismatic techniques to induce a hypnotic trance in the listener. Music, according to Sufi teaching, is an expression of the overwhelming and perfect harmony of the whole universe-and that is the secret of its amazing power to move us at the Soul level. Dimash is not only aware of the power of music to alter one’s state of consciousness, he wields this power masterfully but with great respect, using his voice, body, and instrumentation to transport the listeners to a higher plane of existence. His friend since his teenage years, Erlan Bekchurin, is a brilliant arranger and is also steeped in Kazakh folklore. Together they create magic.
The flute is a traditional Kazakh folk musical instrument called a Sybyzgy which has captivated nomadic peoples since ancient times with its pure and unique sound. Once almost forgotten, the Sybyzgy as well as other traditional instruments have gained popularity again in modern Kazakhstan, and Dimash uses them in many of his songs. Sybyzgy master, Sandzhay Almishev, has been working with Dimash since 2017.
Also, for those who may not already know, he sings “I love you” in three different languages. First in English, then twice in Mandarin, “wo ai ni” and at the end, in Qazaq, “men seni suyemin.” What he whispers at the very end is “fei chang gan xie” which is thank you very much in Mandarin.

Thanks I agree with your comment about his pronunciation: it really doesn't matter. For me, Dimash can sing the phone book in Klingon accompanied by a triangle, it will be amazing, because his voice is the most extraordinary ever and he always gives everything in each performance. I also like the fact that you pointed out his will to color this song with his culture: he always tries to add a Kazakh element in his music when possible, because he loves his country so much and he is so proud of his culture, in the respect of the artist who wrote the song. He never covers a song exactly as the original, he always adapts it to his feelings and this is why he is an amazing artist: in addition to his insane vocal skills, his composition skills are clearly extraordinary (El Amor and Ti, The Story of One Sky...). An absolute genius.

The Qazaq culture is ancient, rich and beautiful, and Dimash is the best ambassador for his country, he is so proud of his homeland.

I’ve also watched the video of you and your band that you recommended. You really have a beautiful voice and I love the sound of the instruments playing with you. His English has progressed so well over the years. In fact, I think he pronounces some words much better than us who have spoken English our whole lives. With all the abbreviated speech we use now days, we have no right to judge others who are trying to learn how to say words correctly. Thank you for your lovely reaction. I love when he adds a little of Kazahk music stylings into the music he shares.

I so agree that non Englosh speakers speak English better. With an accent and some mis-pronouciation, English sounds a bit more exotic otherwise it would be boring. Besides native english speakers mispronounce english anyway, by not finishing words with d's and t's and g's and making letters silent in between words by not pronouncing them, like Sco not finishing off his name by clearly saying the t's at the end of his name. 😊

His pronunciation isn't terrible. At this point he was still very new at English and ours is actually a fairly difficult language to learn. His English has vastly improved but it's certainly not terrible. I've heard plenty of people try to speak to him in Kazakh and he's had to correct them because they said it wrong; it's just part of learning a language. I'm honestly horrible with languages so I'm impressed anytime someone can get even close to speaking another language!

    • @TheMusicJunkieChannel

I absolutely agree with you; I was only expressing what I had seen in other comments in my prior videos, and honestly, it is his vocal quality, not how he pronounces, that should be emphasized. The fact that he works so hard to connect with people from different cultures demonstrates his professionalism as an artist.

He's gotten very good at singing in English since learning how to speak it pretty well, too. Reactors say his songs in Mandarin and Japanese are quite good in their pronunciation. His Italian sounds good, as you'd expect from someone trained for opera. He's singing in so many different languages that it seems to be getting easier for him to get the hang of them.

A disfrutar ❤😊.

Sorry, sorry, sorry to correct you ... hope you don't mind ...but this was in 2018 ... he was at a special event from the "I am singer" 2018 show , where he got invited as a guest (there was also a kind of contest, but more in groups and for fun) ... I'm not very fluid in english, but for me ... I feel his english was way better compared to 2017 , for example "the show must go on" ... but of course it's only my feeling... I'm a german Dear. Kind greetings 🙋🏻‍♀😘

I’m sure he is amazing honestly I was not questioning his English I only mentioned it due to other comments. I only care about dimash as the artist, the voice. The fact he sings in multiple languages only makes him better.

Unfortunately, this is the only time Dimash sang this song, Lionel Ritchie wouldn’t let him perform it again, after this amazing performance! I can’t really blame him! Dimash doesn’t do many new covers these days, but his own compositions and others who write for him are so brilliant, he doesn’t need to!

Instead of thanking Dimash for giving his "Hello" a new breath, "bringing it to a New Light," as Scot said, Richie simply forbade her to sing, forbade only one Dimash. Everyone recognized his envy. It's very unpleasant. Not all artists can recognize someone else's outstanding talent. Bravo, Scot! You can 👏

That's not correct about Lionel Richie, it was the singer VITAS who filed a grievance forbidden Dimash from ever singing his song Opera 2 after Dimash sang it on the Chinese TV show, Singer..jealousy is real when it came to VITAS, he's a cry baby that Dimash sang that song waaaaaay better than he did 💯

English is a problem only for English native speakers. Dears have so many different accents when talking in English and make a lot of mistakes... Interesting thing: we can understand him better than English natives! 😂😂😂
I hate the Ritchie's version, it is like a "stalker" feeling... 😁 Dimash's version is so sad, so vulnerable, waiting, hoping, begging... It makes me cry...
    Hug from Brazil!

"Hello" is definitely a timeless classic, but Dimash's version of it is better in many ways. His ability to sing and the depth of his feelings make the song something special. With a wide range and amazing control, he weaves sounds into a beautiful fabric that moves people deeply. Dimash's true love of music comes through in every note, making a real link with fans all over the world. Aside from being a technical genius, his work brings people from different countries together, making "Hello" a language of love for everyone. His version honours the original while leaving a lasting mark with its own charm that will last forever. Dimash's version of "Hello" shows how music can change people and how talented a performer can be, making it a gem that can't be topped.
